• Unique simultaneous combination of both high-power radiofrequency and high-power ultrasound cavitation. • Low frequency ultrasound disrupts fat cell membranes by an effect called cavitation. • Monopolar radiofrequency electrical currents at a frequency from 300KHz preferentially and intensively heat the subdermis to literally shrink the existing collagen fibre network. • Both ultrasound and radiofrequency currents enhance the absorption of active ingredients through the skin and into the fat and collagen cells. These effects are known as sonophoresis and electrophoresis.

CoaxMed is a revolutionary technology that combines the actions of five different technologies in a single platform, to achieve a powerful synergy able to produce dramatic improvement in several skin conditions. Physicians, physiotherapists and specialized operators can now utilize a single workstation to reshape body contours and eradicate the signs of ageing: the most powerful and effective aesthetic device available on the market. The CoaxMed features the revolutionary combination of Monopolar and Bipolar Radiofrequency (RF), Cavitational Ultrasound plus Vacuum Massage and Localized Cooling. Monopolar procedure is primarily used to treat skin laxity by triggering tightening and is best suited to patients with mild to moderate sagging of facial or body tissues, usually those in their mid thirties to fifties, with any skin colour. It works by producing heat when the tissue’s electrical resistance converts the electric current to thermal energy deeper within the dermis. The generated RF current flows through the body and grounding or return pad is needed. The initial collagen structural change, which is created within these thermally modified deep tissues, causes immediate tissue contraction and subsequent formation of collagen.
Face and Body Bipolar procedure
With bipolar delivery, the current from the RF generator flows only through the tissue area which is between the two electrodes on the handpiece’s tip, generating an arch of radiofrequency emission; these electrodes start and complete the electrical circuit. Hence, with bipolar delivery, no current flows through the rest of the body, so no grounding or return pad is needed.

LipoShock Procedure
The cells in our body react to heat or cold at different temperature levels. During the “LipoShock” procedure, the sophisticated device’s applicator is pressed against the area to be treated thanks to the contemporary action of vacuum aspiration and support of an elastic band. A sequential process of intense heat (60º) and intense cold (-10º) is able to target only the fat cells in that area. After the procedure the fat cells begin a process called “apoptosis”, which brings them to a natural physiological death. At this stage the body reacts with an inflammatory response that causes the natural dispose of the damaged fat cells. The procedure allows a significant improvement in the shape of the treated area.

Device Overview The Abralase procedure
Abralase features the precision of a hand- piece projecting a flow of fine aluminum crystals, which works in synergy with a 630nm diode laser. Small (100-micron) particles of aluminum oxide are mixed into the airflow, and they are then delivered to the surface of the skin. After the particles stream across the skin surface, they are sucked back up into the machine along with the cellular debris. Abralase’s procedure smoothes the most superficial layers of the skin, while the diode laser penetrates into the tissue, where it is absorbed by the cells and converted into energy that can accelerate metabolic processes. The operator can control the intensity of the abrasion, starting from a light exfoliation of the skin, progressively increasing up to a deep exfoliation in specific areas, if necessary.
The Tightening procedure
The Tightening procedure features the combination of radiofrequency, microneedling and vacuum to generate changes in the structure of the dermis to treat superficial and deep wrinkles and to fight skin laxity. The skin is sucked into the cavity of the handpiece through the vacuum action, allowing for a localized emission of radio frequency. The energy is then transferred deep into the dermis, creating an even heating, hence stimulating contraction and regeneration of collagen fibers. Simultaneously, micro needles penetration produces hundreds of tiny dermal micro channels. Less painful and more accurate than the traditional skin needling roller, the microscopic punctures stimulate collagen production in the dermis layer as it breaks some of the blood vessels directly below the surface of the skin. As the blood clots, it creates the right environment for collagen and elastin formation. The final result is a redefinition of the dermal tissue, as the skin appears to be more elastic and the wrinkles are less noticeable.

Laser and light technology is being used for an increasing number of cosmetic treatments. Examples include hair reduction, skin rejuvenation, wrinkles reduction, removal of pigmented blemishes, treatment of acne and of vascular lesions. The new Xlase is the most versatile and expandable platform for aesthetic laser and light treatments. Its modular and user friendly design provides multiple distinct laser applicators that can be equipped into one compact unit. Xlase system utilizes high-powered xenon lamp that requires water cooling for reliable operation. Very importantly, too, the closed-cycle cooling system enables an optimal preservation of the xenon lamp and a safe treatment application. Other Intense Pulsed Light systems available on the market utilize forced air to achieve xenon lamp cooling; such systems have proven to lead to lamp overheating and poor operational performances. An integral part of the Xlase system when CPL operation is on, is the chill tip.
