PROJECT 1A PONCHO

T he project asks us to design a

dress which has architectual element.

U sing cardboard and clips, we

PROJECT 1B POCHE

I n this project,we need to have the’dynamic’ reading of the movement of the poncho into a spatial operation. W e generated three main columns

based on the three holes on poncho and had the interior space showing the concept SHIFTING.

the mass-void study of the poche into a circulation tower.

T he model we built not only shows

the SHIFTING of the STAIRS but also shows the SPACE SHIFTING by using three main volumes which we generated based on the three columns on poche.

PROJECT 2A CASE STUDIES

T his assignment requires analytical

reading of precedents in architecture through the use of diagrams.

I n this project, we used mass-void,

grid, propotion, program, structure and thresholds diagrams to show our understanding of Usui-gun Weekend House by SANAA. DIAGRAMS Usui-gun Weekend House - SANAA

PROJECT 2B MONTAGE

T his project asks us to put our previous staircase model into

Ludwig Mies van de Rohe’s work Crown Hall. It is paramount that our intervention takes a clear stands towards Mies’ project and building.

I n our design, we decided to show the CORNER of Mies. Using his

classical I-beams and L-shape of the corner,we developed the corner-intervention which includes programs of storage, cafe and auditorium and L-shape facade pattern.

PROJECT 3 THE PIANO HOUSE

PLAN & SECTION DRAWINGS

FINAL MODEL PHOTO

The final project is to design a small “live-work program based on the relationship between the ideas of the larger territory and the architectual project. Our studio devided the territory into six districts. Our district is designed for musicians. The three buildings in the district form a squareshaped public space in the centre of our territory. It serves as a space for concerts.Taking account into the relationship between working space(more open) and living space (more private) and the need of pianists who obviously dislike noises, I seperated two spaces into two individual towers. At the same time, the pattern walls, which two towers face to each other and the ceiling of

the working space serve as connections between the two spaces. The form of the living space and the roof of the music studio are derived from the piano. The shape of the plan and the declining roofs are intentionally designed because of the topograghy. For the lighting, each space has a skylight. Besides, the pattern is used only in working space because of its openness. It allows sunlight goes in and looks like the musical notation on the floor.
