MEDINA AW19 COLLECTION
INTRODUCTION The Medina collection was borne of a love of travel and the experience of global exploration. This time roads led away from the familiar towns and villages of India to the bustling streets of Marrakech and the sweeping beaches of Tangier. Inspiration has been taken from traditional North African embroideries and translated into an exclusive new block print for table linen, cushions and lampshades. Relationships have been forged with artisan makers to create bespoke embroidery, hand woven blankets and traditional tamegroute pottery. Rural markets have been scoured for unique vintage urns, traditionally made rugs and one-off textiles. In the city souks new staple rugs have been produced to our designs to create a complete collection of eclectic pieces. Our new pinks reference baked sand, bleached shells and parched earth whilst blues and greens reflect still waters, vibrant pigments and verdant palms. New lamp bases have been moulded to resemble baskets whilst rugs have been woven using traditional Moroccan techniques. All of our new pieces sit alongside an ever-changing collection of continental antiques and curated contemporary paintings and prints.

JUTE WAVE PLACEMAT
Here batch-dyed velvets sit alongside hand-woven silks and embroidered linens. Soft rust, burnt umber and shell pink are balanced with a new staple sand tone for a gentle, autumnal look.
AUTUMN GATHERING A scattering of cookery books, table linens and heavy, earthenware vessels fills the kitchen table. Late season produce awaits transformation into earthy soups, stews and chutneys. A stack of printed linen napkins sits atop rustic jute placemats with a softly scalloped edge.

ANATOMY OF A TABLE Using our Medina runner-printed tablecloth as a base we created an abundant centre piece of dried late summer flowers and seed heads. Each arrangement has been placed in a different sized Ribbed Hurricane vase to give architectural interest to the table and to vary the structure. Amongst these we placed Potterie Gourds in tones of denim and ice blue to add texture and additional colour. Each setting consists of a Jute Wave placemat, a Versha dinner and side plate, a Romanian bowl and set of Linear cutlery. Glassware is kept simple with a rustic tumbler and two wine glasses.
