Exposure was good about the abuse that takes place in a lot of families but the ending was weak. I needed some type of closure. Lady Shaunte' Garrett

This movie is very heart wrenching to say the least. The ending could have been a little stronger. However, I believe this movie sheds light on the horror that many women have experienced but are too afraid to speak about.

the movie “precious”touched a chord in the hearts of many...especially among black women. The movie is about a 1980s-era Harlem teen who strives to overcome abuse, neglect and illiteracy. as of this week, the Oprah Winfrey/Tyler Perry-backed film has earned $27 million at the domestic box office. here’s what gt’s facebook friends had to say about it.

Tyler and Oprah did an awesome job, and my prayer is that this movie will cause other women or young girls who have experienced... See More this type of abuse or are in a situation like this will come forward and seek help. Abusers need to be exposed and held accountable for their actions. Doreen Brayboy

am a SURVIVOR of 4 yrs sexual abuse from age 10 - 14. I can definitely relate to Precious. Leila Reece Crawford

I felt there was so much effort to show the realness of the abuse issue, that it resulted in exposing raw emotion, with no resolve at the end of the movie. I was looking for closure and some new direction for Sexual, Mental the life of precious and and Emotional Abuse is her children. graphic and real. I myself Joyce Gilmer

Though it was rather raw, it was indeed a story that needed to be told. There are far too many UNhealed adults in society whose wounds have never been addressed, increasing the chances of perpetuating their individual cycles. LaLa Burkett The movie had a storyline that brought light to a lot of issues that go on behind closed doors in many of America’s households. But, I could not follow the movie when it shows her all dressed up and posing for cameras...I must have missed something!! Pastor Reginald V. Long

The one other thing I took from this picture was a blessing for my parents. And the life they gave free from the abusive that this character and real lifer folks have dealt with. It was certainly time to count my blessings Lenora Cash

Very bad ending. It ended abruptly as if I wish the movie dealt more with "intra- there will be a part 2. racial prejudices" within the black community. Gregory Gaines It is a very real topic that darker skinned blacks live with everyday. However, I was happy to Sounds like everybody wanted the finally see a 'very dark skinned' actress in a lead happy ending to close it up...but unfortunately, role for a change. Also, the raw language left me it takes a good little while for someone in that cringing in my seat. I wish the father could have situation to get their life together. I thought the been caught and punished in the story so that moment that brought the closure we needed the world could see what happens to evil was when she said, "I see what kind of person people. you are...you ain't gon' see me no mo'." Ruth Singletary Stephanie Love'Song White The movie touched many places in me. There were so many issues compacted into such a small span of time! I understood her escape to her happy place to forget what she was experiencing. There are so many instances of secret, hidden sexual, mental, verbal abuse within families and it is heartbreaking to know that somewhere out there are other "... Precious" girls. My take on the ending is different. I didn't see it as weak and it didn't leave me hanging. I felt that she was able to overcome and make it. gt Gail Rice

For me, this movie was a cry for love -the kind that only Jesus, lived through his people, can bring. There is so much that we can do as a body of believers to extend the kind of agape that will bring healing and hope to people's lives. For me, I walked away wanting my light to shine. I walked away asking the Lord HOW could I make a difference in. the lives of people like Precious. I was once HER... and it was love that made the difference in my life. It was the Christ extended to me when I needed it the most. We can't reach everyone... but for me, this movie showed how "just caring" can break walls and release boundaries... ANDRIA HALL

Andria Hall, the late CNN news anchor, author and communicator, will be honored by media, tourism stakeholders and young people gathering for the 18th meeting of the Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx) in Saint Lucia from December 3 to 7, 2009. Andria Hall's legacy will be honored at the opening of the conference, at Coco Palm's Conference Centre in Rodney Bay Village. Hall, an Emmy award winning journalist, Christian communications strategist and a key member of the CMEx production team, passed away last January after a two year battle with breast cancer.

"All the innovation, spiritual uplift, underlying intellectual elegance and divine optimism evident at CMEx was influenced in some way by Andria," said CMEx director Lelei LeLaulu, who recalled Hall was a gentle force who deeply touched the lives of those with whom she connected. LeLaulu said he was pleased that members of Andria's immediate family along with several of her close friends will make the journey for a Caribbean Memorial of Andria. "We miss her deeply," said fellow CMEx director Dr. Basil Springer, who admitted he still cannot believe Andria has

This week in Entertainment... has announced the creation of AK Worldwide, a company she says will handle her nonmusical and philanthropic projects. AKW will also provide the backbone for Keys's continued charity work with Keep a Child Alive, her representatives said in a news release. "I will always be focused on my career in music, but I am also inspired by the beautiful people and beautiful things I encounter in the world," Keys said in a statement. "AKW is my chance to channel that energy into projects for which I have great passion." Among her first endeavors is a partnership in The Barber's Daughters, an inspirational hand-crafted jewelry line that Alicia discovered while touring in Toronto. This winter, Keys will unveil AKW's second major undertaking, IAmASuperwoman.com, a Web site devoted to spotlighting inspirational women and causes, while providing a positive online community for the discussion and development of ideas.

The Daily Mail said Friday the second wife of Britain's Prince Charles spoke out against such graphic works of entertainment while she was touring the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Center in London. "A lot of those videos are terrifying," Camilla said Thursday night. "I am sure they trigger a response in some of the young people. I can never understand how they can get away with making those things." Mentioned in the discussion was Beyonce's music video for her hit "Video Phone." The video features the U.S. singer in several revealing outfits and Beyonce is shown holding a toy gun to a man's chest.
