College Planning – More Than Just Choosing a School School is out and summer has begun! As our children and grandchildren transition out of a distance learning platform, many recent high school graduates are already wondering how their first semester of college will begin. Will it be on campus with the rest of their fellow classmates, or virtual learning from the kitchen table? While students’ schedules have been turned upside down in recent months, one thing you can count on to remain the same is the arrival of the tuition bill when college resumes. As we periodically review

our finances (yes, that is something we should all be doing!), it is also a good idea to review your plan for ways to assist your children or grandchildren with their college education. The cost of college tuition and fees is continuing to rise at a steady pace, and families must begin their planning earlier than ever. Establishing a plan customized to your own family can aid with those costs down the road. Questions you may ask include: “When should I start saving for my child’s education?” or “What can I do to help fund my grandchild’s

education?” As with most things, the hardest part is getting started. Kick off your summer on the right foot by addressing your questions, evaluating your goals and your timeline, and starting a conversation with the Millner Wealth Management Group. We are here to help you develop or adjust your plan for the future. Remember, you do not have to accomplish everything all at once. The Millner Wealth Management Group can help you customize an action plan specific to you. College is expensive. So, what’s your plan?

Goals are personal. Your financial plan should be too.
