TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:

I graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in Sturgis, S.D., and made the decision to attend the University of Mary. After moving to Bismarck, I quickly realized that Bismarck was a place where I wanted to be long term. I started working at Capital Credit Union in 2009, met my wife in 2011, had our son in 2014, and have loved being here the entire time.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?

Working with people and seeing people become successful in their fields has been my biggest motivation. I have been lucky enough to be able to see many business members at Capital Credit Union reach the pinnacle of their fields.

CHALLENGES IN YOUR CAREER PATH:

One of the biggest challenges I have faced was working through the multiple lending programs created during the COVID pandemic and being able to respond efficiently for our members.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER OTHER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS?

I would advise other young professionals to build a strong network/team around them. I have been very fortunate to have great people around me and that has been a key factor to my growth and development. I would also tell young professionals not to be afraid of challenges. Some of the greatest successes we have had at Capital Credit Union in my time have started off as challenges and we have found ways to turn them into achievements.

Capital Credit Union is proud to help recognize our Chief Lending Officer Brad Shetler as one of the Bismarck Mandan Chamber

EDC’s 20 under 40. Brad lives the credit union philosophy of “people helping people,” and exemplifies our values of vision, integrity, caring and knowledge. We’re proud to have you on our team, Brad!
