•  Stephen Robson studied at Fine Art Goldsmith's College which is highly well known and gradually became interested in photography there. Professional photography has been his main occupation for a long period of time, but in recent years he has made a return to drawing and painting, and studied printmaking and showcasing his etching skills. Stephen now divides his time between these different ways of working and joined Greenwich Printmakers in 2010, having produced a series of prints of the Thames at Greenwich. He also works in Norfolk, and often makes trips to the Kent coast and the Thames estuary.

•  One of the 3 reasons why I like the chosen images by Steve Robson is due to the fact he showcases his etched images by adding a lot of detail such as the sea or the environment as the background. I have also picked up on the fact that he ranges in effects and colours of the images for examples he uses black and white for most of his images to give it more of a dramatic effect but he also uses sepia and bright colours to show its subtle effect of the image. This alone allows you to warm to the image created and gradually understand its purpose of underlined meaning. Finally the way Steve uses his etching techniques allows you to see the dark shadows and also the minor detail making the picture look as realist as possible.

•  Steve Robson chooses his compositions by limiting the colours he uses in his images such as black and white and sepia, he also has a really defined horizon line that is generally evident in all his pictures. It is apparent that Steve chooses deep skies in his images and ranges between a low horizon line but in few pictures he tries out with a high horizon line. The contrast he uses is always different for example he uses a really dark hash shade of black and white or a really light shade of sepia sometimes he uses other colours to portray the background effect.

Fabienne Rivory

Ideas about Fabienne Rivory •  French artist Fabienne Rivory always creates unusually beautiful images simply by working with detailed mirrored photographs and watercoulour paints. Rivory has been making amazing pieces of artwork that blends paint and photography since the early years of 2007, a process she likens to the exploration of memory versus reality. •  In the pictures I have choses as an example that Fabienne Rivory made it shows that she's an artist that expresses her pictures through colour as when she adds her ink work that she photographs they all have bright colours that as generally against a dull black and white background. The pictures I have chose all have black and white backgrounds which all have high exposures and medium tone contrasts which gives the picture a dynamic look and draws in more attention the effect is also greater due to her doing this. In some of her images she use’s a mirroring effect and has the ink leak to make it more interesting.

•  Structural Fabienne Rivory uses a horizon lines in her pictures to focus on a third or half down the image also the colours she choses to use are bright and very eye catching. Cultural

This picture relates to Fabienne Rivory as the artist Uyuni uses similar subtle tones and also the mirror image look to give it a fuller different feel.
