Celebration of friendship and togetherness

HiLLCrEsT, Suren and Manga invited friends and family for a fun-filled evening in the spirit of togetherness, friendship and music; Suren did his debut solo performance under the tutelage of Tabla Nawaz and guru Dheeraj Shrestha. Suren, a relatively new student, surprised everyone with his performance; he is an enthusiast and seasoned event coordinator. The funfilled evening marked the 40th anniversary of the couple, the first birthday of their grandson and Suren’s debut tabla performance. The couple’s contributions and achievements were highlighted on the night.

Smt. Manga Surendran (artistic director and choreographer of Eswaralaya Kalaikoodam) was the first student to perform an arangatram under the late Smt. Gowri Muthukumarasami. She also studied with Smt. Balasundari Prathalingam and Smt. Subathra Sivadasan in Sri Lanka. Smt Manga started her teaching career in Sri Lanka in a leading school in Colombo.

She regularly attends the Naatya Kala Conference, which is held in Chennai, to keep up with the latest developments in India. Manga underwent a comprehensive course at Kalakshetra, Chennai, a few years back. Manga has performed countless solo recitals and group dances while she was a Sri Lankan student.

Manga has a unique capacity for training students in Bharatha Natyam, folk dances and dance dramas. A large number of enthusiastic pupils from diverse cultural backgrounds undergo training in a systematic, disciplined and professional manner under her guidance. Manga’s passion and dedication have brought tremendous success to the school and today. Easwaralya is one of the leading schools in Queensland.
