Oberoi of Gold Coast Australia was one of the awardees of Hind Rattan Award 2023; the award is not affiliated with Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, which is an Indian Government (MEA) initiative. Pushpinder Oberoi was nominated for Pravasi Samman Awards

The Hind Rattan is one of the Indian diasporic awards granted annually to non-resident persons of Indian origin (NRIs) by the NRI Welfare Society of India. The award is presented at the Society's annual congress on the eve of India’s Republic Day or during Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations.

The number of awardees varies yearly but is generally about 25 to 30. The Society does not publish criteria for award selection; award selections are made among the Society leadership, and awardees are invited to attend the conference in New Delhi to accept their awards. Awardees must pay their fare, accommodation, and attendance fees for the awards.
