ABOUT Our MARCH COVER : …And ACTION!
This month’s issue is about all things sports. Our cover model is hockey player CJ Franklin, who you may know from his fancy moves on the ice with the Stampede in Sioux Falls or from winning the gold medal with Team USA at the World Junior A Challenge in November. Taking our cover photo was Susan DeWitte, who said she froze her buns off getting the shot, but it was well worth it to work with CJ! In this issue you’ll find an interview with a former Vikings football player who now takes the stage as a motivational speaker for Fortune 500 companies! We go behind the scenes with a Hall of Fame legendary angler; what a great life this guy has, he fishes for a living! Plus, we profile some of the businesses that support the sports industry – from companies that make scoreboards to architects that design beautiful stadiums! The sports industry is big business and benefits our local economy, bringing in additional revenue and creating more jobs.

the Lessons
WE LEARN The lessons we learn from sports begin at an early age when we are first introduced to the concept of playing together, playing fair and playing by the rules. These early lessons permeate every aspect of our youth and adult lives as we learn how to work and deal with one another. In life, just as in sports, there are winners and those who lose. The rules are the same: the more you prepare the better your chances. Just as a good team draws in loyal fans, the more integrity you display in your professional career, the better your business; people notice, they talk and share great and poor experiences alike, just as they would with their favorite team. The big difference of course is your business is your life, your source of income, your security. Can you really afford not to stay at the top of your game? In this issue we address teamwork, integrity, morals, fair play and how to handle problems. We learn most of our professional and career fundamentals in kindergarten - how to get along, be honest and fair, playing on a team and of course celebrating the successes. We also learn how to fail gracefully, learn from our mistakes and try again, next time perhaps better prepared. We only get one shot at life, no do overs, but there are second chances all the time, so go for it! Follow your destiny, your dream, build a team, learn the rules of business and go conquer your corner of the world! Go team!

LEAD with INTEGRITY
Integrity in business is just as important as in your personal life. Trust is the substance of any friendship, marriage or business deal if you want the relationship to last and have value. Integrity is the grit and substance of a person that says you can be relied upon; that your word is true. It does not mean you will always succeed, but that you try your best to do what is right and good.

He may not do what you want him to, he may not do what you think he ought to do, but you know he's done his best to do right."
Be Kind
In a U.S. News and World report, 89% of people believe incivility is a serious problem. Do What is Right
We’ve all seen politicans who are vacuous charming icons with no substance, who bend to the whims of special interest groups and political demagogs. Enter Ronald Reagan, respected by friends and foes, or Calvin Coolidge, a man of dignity and character even if you disagreed with his political views.
Be Good
Goodness is a matter of the head, the heart, and the hand. Can we develop or teach goodness in our daily lives and actions? Can it thrive in our corporate decisions and still be profitable? Some believe that education is the solution, yet education of the head without an equal emphasis on integrity of the heart or deed will only produce creative and clever demons. Bernie Madoff – convicted of running a Ponzi scheme considered to be the largest in US history – displayed charismatic grit and substance, but underneath he was a brutal fake, a criminal who lacked heart. Mobsters have been known to be charitable but are not good at heart. Goodness is not just a matter of what we do; its a matter of what we are made of, what is inside, our integrity. To our own selves we must be true for you can never regain lost integrity. Henry David Thoreau said,“Goodness is the only investment that never fails.” Every day try to do a good deed, say a good thing, show a good heart. u Source: "How to Impact and Inf luence Others" – Dr. James Merritt

From Scoreboards to Stadiums: Companies that Support the Sports Industry
In 1923, New York’s Yankee Stadium was commonly called “The House that Ruth Built.” While the image of the homerun hero singlehandedly pouring concrete is striking, it overlooks the hard work of firms and teamwork from a variety of industries that make the sports business possible. And requirements for one industry mean opportunities for another.

k
Tracy Turbak, Sioux Falls’ Director of Finance, says all types and levels of sports generate an economic benefit for the community. From venues such as fitness centers or golf courses to sporting goods vendors to indirect opportunities created for hotels, restaurants and other general retail, a large number of businesses benefit from athletics.
ur
“Improving sports and recreational opportunities for the community improves T the quality of life for everyone,” Turbak says, and a good quality of life is vital in recruiting and growing an area’s economy and business climate.

“There’s quite a bit of residual work that comes off of sports,” says Robin Miller, founder and CEO of MSH Architects. “We build all this around the entertainment.”

MSH Architects has designed a number of sports-related facilities, most prominently the USF Sports Complex, which houses football, track and soccer for the University of Sioux Falls, and which will host the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in 2018. Artificial turfs were part of the master plan MSH crafted. Synthetic turf lasts longer and is designed to never harden or freeze. In addition to holding up better, Miller asserts that artificial turfs are more bi n Ro environmentally friendly than grass fields.
8 | BizNOWmagazine.com | March 2014
“Once these are in place,” Miller says, “you don’t water it, you don’t fertilize it, and you don’t mow it. You don’t put weed killer on it and you don’t run all those chemicals into your water systems.” In addition, these extremely durable fields are made from recyclable materials. MSH Architects also designed the Tea Area High School sport complex: two soccer fields, a track and a football field. The football turf, entirely rubber, greatly reduces the concussive rebound force and thus the risk of injury. In addition to being safer, the turf’s heat retention keeps snow off the field for several extra weeks. Mark Aspaas, Principal Architect and Vice President at Architecture Incorporated, believes designing for sports can be quite different from other architecture. Normally, a building is about the people inside and what they need dayto-day, but he says stadiums are unique because “one night there may be 15,000 there and then it sits empty.” Architecture Incorporated is designing an indoor field sport facility at South Dakota State University that will be completed later this year, and a new football stadium for 2016. They are also working with the University of South Dakota on major additions to the DakotaDome, adding a basketball and volleyball arena. All of these architectural projects mean additional jobs for local businesses and will encourage economic growth in the local communities. nationwide, from professional sports to college to high school and recreational leagues. “We also provide on-site event support and content creation services,” says Jay Parker, Vice-President of Live Events. Daktronics strives to include “everything any venue would need to provide fans with an experience that they can’t receive by sitting at home watching TV.”
According to Parker, Daktronics has installed over 500 LED displays in the Sioux Falls area alone for sports, retail establishments and billboards. Last fiscal year, approximately 30% of Daktronics’ sales were generated by the sports industry. To further bolster the sports business, Sioux Falls broke ground on the Denny Sanford Premier Center in 2012. The indoor arena, with a projected completion this fall, will allow for bigger entertainment events. An economic impact analysis estimates a surge of 355,000 more visitors and $36 million to Sioux Falls each year thanks to the events center. Beyond the new arena, the city continues to invest in parks, trail systems and swimming facilities. “The city is also partnering with non-public entities investing in indoor sports facilities for both tennis and ice sports,” Turbak says. One such addition to the Sioux Falls sports scene will be the Scheels IcePlex. The complex will offer hockey, recreational skating and more to the public this September. It will be home to the Sioux Falls Youth Hockey Association and the Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club, while providing a practice area for the Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club. Overseeing funding is the Ice Sports Association. Sue Salter, Executive Director, says “Scheels has been an instrumental partner in making this community facility a reality.” Scheels provided monetary support and active involvement in the funding drive. “We have been inspired and humbled by the incredible generosity of hundreds of individuals and business’ that have supported the campaign,” Salter says. Continued investment in the sports business will generate even more diverse economic benefits, which, in turn will help keep the unemployment rate low. u

STAY FIT &HAVE FUN
We all know that sitting at a desk all day can be hard on your health. A sedentary lifestyle increases your risk for high blood pressure, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and cancer. Add to that list premature aging: in a study conducted on identical twins by Dr. Lynn Cherkas of King's College London, the cells of the sedentary twin appeared 10 years older than the cells of the more active twin! But finding time to exercise in our busy lives can be challenging. We’re getting kids ready for school, rushing to work, rushing home, cooking dinner, helping with homework, and trying to carve out a little family time too. And somewhere on the to-do list is finding the time to exercise. Facilities like the Sanford Wellness Center in Sioux Falls provide many activities for a variety of tastes, such as aquatics, strength and cardiovascular training, circuit classes, Zumba, and basketball to maintain a healthy work, family, and fitness lifestyle. "We don't want someone in a program they don't enjoy,” says Steve Bliss, Senior Exercise Specialist at the Wellness Center. “If you pick a sport you enjoy, you have a much better chance of sticking with it.” Near the Sioux Falls Regional Airport is the recently opened Sanford Fieldhouse and Sanford Pentagon, home to the POWER Athletic Enhancement Programs, Sanford Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Sanford Sports Medicine Outreach.
All of Sanford's facilities are open to all ages, whether an athlete, or a businessman or woman. "We have a pretty broad range of people: kids from 7-years old to adults that are 60 or 70," says Scott Hettenbach, Sanford POWER Enterprise Manager. When signing up for a program, Hettenbach says it's beneficial to work out with a friend, or a group. “If you have other people who hold you accountable, then you will work as a group to get things done. And if you put it on your calendar, you are more apt to do it – whether it is before work, during lunch hour or after work.” Holding people accountable in an exercise program is key to achieving best results. At the Wellness Center, Bliss holds people accountable with a “priority grid” to help live a healthy lifestyle. "If there's no plan, there's no action. Everyone is individualized. I have them do a grid once a week, and what's nice about this, is it helps them with their goals because sometimes people feel they are spinning out of control or too busy."

Got a desk job? 3 Quick Exercises You Can Do at
Making it a priority to work out can be as simple as committing to take a 10-minute walk during a work break, or by creating one or two short-term goals for four to eight weeks. Then, once these goals are created, the important thing is to make a habit out of working out. A healthy lifestyle doesn't end at the gym, either. Bliss encourages men and women to keep a journal of their eating and sleep habits. "Start looking at how much sleep you get at night. Adults should get between seven and nine hours. Then, follow these guidelines: get two and a half hours of physical activity a week, and always eat breakfast." No matter what program you choose, it’s important to measure your success - monitor your heart rate, blood pressure, sleep patterns, weight and body mass index. A healthy fitness lifestyle takes effort, but it pays off in big dividends – better health, a fit and trim body, more self-confidence, and a longer-life span. u

"A lot of people will round their back at work, and these are some movements you can do every hour at work," says Steve Bliss, Senior Exercise Specialist at Sanford Wellness Center. 1. Chair Squat: This exercise gets you up on your feet, and develops your leg muscles. Stand in front of a chair, and lower your gluteus maximus without sitting down. Keep your knees above your ankles, and put your weight on your heels. 2. Chest and Back Stretch: This exercise promotes good posture. Stand or sit in a relaxed position with your arms extended in front of you parallel to the floor. Pull your shoulder blades behind you, bending your arms slightly at the elbows. Do this for five seconds, and repeat five to ten times. 3. Shoulder Shrug: This exercise relieves tension in the shoulder, neck and upper back muscles. Slowly bring your shoulders up toward your ears. Hold for three seconds, then roll your shoulders back and down. Relax and repeat five to ten times. Other workouts you can do at home include push-ups, pullups, inverted rows, dips, using bands for circuit routines, and jumping rope to get your heart rate up. *Exercises recommended by Bliss and Hettenbach of Sanford.

Up Close & Personal with
Gov. Dennis Daugaard Gov. Daugaard, this is our SportsBiz issue. What's your favorite sport?
Each summer my son and I canoe down the Missouri River and camp overnight along the way. It gives us time together, and we enjoy seeing eagles, ospreys, beavers and muskrats. As we go, we always swim and sometimes fish. It’s always nice to spend time with my son and take advantage of some of the outdoor opportunities we have in South Dakota.
Recently we did an issue on charisma. What does charisma mean to you and why is it important in leadership? I know that many of the elected officials throughout our nation are very charismatic individuals. They exude confidence. They’re good in front of large crowds. They are very persuasive. There is no doubt this ability brings many people success. Throughout my time as governor, though, I haven’t invested a lot of my time in trying to be charismatic. Instead, I’ve tried to always work hard, be honest, and stay true to my values. That is what’s really important. The rest seems to take care of itself.
work. They taught me the meaning of hard work and that all work has dignity.
How can a person stay likable but stay true to your mission? How can you deal with criticism in the public eye?
If you have your own beliefs, there will always be people who disagree with you. Other people’s opinions shouldn’t define you or take precedence over your principles. If you’re committed to those principles and to doing the right thing, I think other people can respect that even when they disagree. I also think it’s important to respect other people whether they agree with you or not and to see them as individuals.
“I learned many important life lessons from my parents. My parents were both born deaf, but they did not allow that to deter them or define them.”
What’s one thing you want to accomplish for South Dakota in 2014?
Over the past three years, we’ve balanced the budget, decreased the number of unnecessary regulations, kept the tax burden low, and made state government – Gov. Daugaard more accessible. We also launched our workforce initiative, South Dakota Wins, to address workforce issues in our state. South Dakota’s unemployment is so low that we don’t have enough workers to fill all the job openings in areas like engineering, information technology, health care, accounting and the trades. In the BizNOW is all about inspiring entrepreneurs coming year, we will be doing more to address our workforce to become the best they can be. Who problem by supporting career technical education programs, inspires you? and we will continue our efforts to be good stewards of I learned many important life lessons from my parents. Going Fishing for a Living Pro Angler Ted Takasaki He’s made a career doing what he loves – fishing! Ted Takasaki is a Hall of Fame professional angler who won the prestigious Professional Walleye Trail Championship. He still holds the record for a one-day limit of 5 walleyes, which weighed an impressive 53.2 pounds! He has been featured in many national magazines and TV fishing shows. Ted is considered one of America’s leading walleye experts, and resides in Sioux Falls. A lot of people love fishing, how did you turn it into a career? I had a dream and a goal to turn my hobby into a business. It took many long hours and a good plan to succeed. The plan that I wrote for myself outlined the steps I felt it would take to make money while fishing. A few breaks and good luck came along the way. The biggest break was when I won the 1998 Professional Walleye Trail Championship, which was the first $100,000 pay day in walleye tournament fishing at the time. That led to my being hired as the President of Lindy Fishing Tackle. It was there where I was able to utilize my business skills which I had learned in 18 years at Hewlett Packard. When my professional fishing income exceeded my salary as President, that was when I felt comfortable in turning my hobby into a full time business.
What’s a typical day for you like as a professional fisherman? I work on promotional items, such as articles
and photos for magazines; I also work on sponsor proposals and arrange appearances, which is how I earn a living. The summers are when I head out to various lakes or rivers for walleye tournaments. These tournaments hone my skills and when I am successful, I also earn dollars which pay the bills. The winter months are when I am traveling almost every weekend to conduct seminars and appearances at sport and boat shows around the country.
What inspired you to become a pro angler? A friend
of mine and I started to fish walleye tournaments and in one of the first tournaments we finished in the top ten, and there was a crowd of about 2000 screaming fans as we drove our boat into the auditorium! That’s the moment I got excited and decided I wanted to fish full time. 16 | BizNOWmagazine.com | March 2014
What is the largest fish you have ever caught?
A 54 inch Muskie from Lake of Two Mountains in Quebec, Canada. My biggest walleye is a 12.5 pounder from Lake Erie.
What tournaments will you be involved in this spring? The Cabela’s National Walleye Tour (NWT) begins in
April and goes until September. There will be four $1500 entry fee tournaments within this circuit. I will also fish 3 or 4 additional smaller entry fee tournaments which are closer to home.
What does a National Tour entail? How long are you gone? And can you take us at BizNOW along?
A national tour such as the NWT consists of 4 to 5 days of practice (finding the fish and figuring out the technique needed to catch them) along with 2 to 3 days of the tournament itself. These tournaments are typically located anywhere from Montana to New York down to Arkansas and they change lakes/rivers from year to year. A friend typically travels with me to these venues and he helps in the preparation and expenses. BizNOW is always invited into my boat!
What insider tips do you have for catching walleye?
My favorite technique to catch walleyes in SD is to pull bottom bouncers & a nightcrawler spinner. Set your speed so this spinner just starts to spin. Keep this bouncer close to the bottom & watch your electronics.

professional anglers, it’s still not a secure “job”. I’m doing what I love to do for a living. Walleye tournaments are not lucrative - $60,000 to $100,000 pay days are about the best that are out there. There aren’t many and they are extremely difficult to win. Endorsements/sponsors are the only way I can pay my mortgage and they are not easy to get or keep. My sponsors include: Lund Boats, Mercury Engines, MinnKota Trolling Motors, Humminbird Electronics, St. Croix Rods, TUF Line Fishing Line, Pharm Cline, Off Shore Tackle, and Fish On Rod Holders. I have never gone the route of inventing, although I had a lot to say in what kind of tackle and “tweaks” that we needed to do to new products before launching them. My contribution to the company was in the product marketing: packaging, new logo, copyrighted product names, etc.

Funniest f ishing story? The time I took my daughter fishing when she was 4 years old. We were trolling for walleyes in Michigan and she hooked into a 6 pound walleye. It was everything that I could do to hold her by the scruff of her jacket in order to keep her in the boat as she was reeling in the fish! After about a 10 minute battle, with one hand on her, another on the net, we got the fish in.

From NFL Player to NATIONAL Speaker: Keith Nord
From the NFL to motivational speaker for Fortune 500 companies, ex-Vikings star Keith Nord, Minneapolis, has found success both on the field and off. For this interview, Keith took a day out of his busy schedule to meet with me in Sioux Falls over coffee. He’s that kind of guy – always willing to help, always willing to share his expertise and ideas with other entrepreneurs. Here is his best advice on sports, life, and business.
from my father: Don’t be afraid to work hard enough to find out how good you can be.
Tell me about a time on the field that has carried you forward in business? I think the experience I had
on the football field that carries over is being open to failure, or mistakes. In a professional football game every player makes numerous mistakes throughout the game. Being able to put a mistake behind you, and concentrate on the next play is vitally important. If you carry mistakes forward you end up screwing up future plays. I believe this has a direct correlation to business. Also, the fact that mistakes are the way we improve. Being open to fail, realizing that by failing, we are getting closer to success. A great book that goes into depth on this is ‘Talent Code’ by Daniel Coyle.
Pro-football players always have to have a plan and then be able to change it on the fly. How important is having a plan and being flexible in business? When establishing a plan, especially for small

We all have had a time when a co-worker talked about us behind our back, stole our project, or took our client from right under our nose. Ultimately, we are playing for the same team – so how do we call a “foul” in the workplace without tarnishing our own record?
Ignore the play and fight harder.
Obviously, the rules change depending on what “game” you are playing, what company you work for, how close you are with each individual, and what the unspoken rules of the office are.
Keep in mind you don’t want to be thrown out for a foul on your part. Whatever option works best for your situation; think ahead at how this play will affect the outcome of the game. u
Take it from the Biz playbook, one of the following plays is bound to work:
We would say fight dirty, but fist fights are really only allowed in hockey, so don’t give others a reason to doubt you, and sooner or later, the truth will come out.

The most common sports injuries seen by clinicians are tendon and ligament injuries, said Dr. Erik Peterson, Orthopedic Surgeon with CORE Orthopedics Avera Medical Group. “There are two main mechanisms by which these occur – overuse and traumatic. Overuse is far and away the most frequent cause of sports-related joint injuries.” Traumatic injuries are those that happen on the spot, in a single incident, for example, a sprain, a fracture, a dislocation or a muscle strain. Overuse injuries are more subtle and occur over time – the result of repetitive stress on the tendons, bones or joints. One example of an overuse injury to the tendon is tendonitis, or inflammation within the tendon – a structure that connects muscle to bone. Tendons cross the joints, giving joints their motion and mobility. When tendons become inflamed, it’s usually because of activities that are too repetitious or strenuous. “For example, someone who engages in the same circuit training workout six days per week or does bicep curls daily may be at risk for developing inflammation in the tendons if he or she is performing the same moves repeatedly,” Dr. Peterson said. Ligament injuries or tears are also common. Ligaments, such as the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), connect two bones together at the joint, and specifically, the ACL connects the femur (thigh) bone to the tibia (shin) bone. “A ligament is usually damaged or torn by a single traumatic injury event or from
non-contact injury mechanisms. Most people think of hard-hitting football collisions when they hear of an ACL tear, much like when Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings tore his ACL,” Dr. Peterson said. “Surprisingly, 80 percent of ACL tears happen via non-contact sports injuries such as pivoting hard on the soccer field, or landing improperly while coming down from grabbing a rebound. Most of these types of injuries occur in young women due to improper mechanics.” When sports injuries require surgery, minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques represent the latest advancements in sports medicine. “These techniques continue to improve and evolve,” Dr. Peterson said. Yet much of the recent focus has centered around injury prevention. “While rigid knee braces for the knee and ankle have been shown in certain sports and positions to prevent injuries, more injury prevention benefit lies in proper training,” Dr. Peterson said. In fact, specific training programs have been proven to reduce ACL tears in young athletes by an amazing 75 percent. “Programs like these are available through the Avera Sports Institute and CORE Orthopedics and focus on proper muscle development and landing mechanics,” Dr. Peterson added.

From the pro quarterback to the weekend warrior, sports injuries are all too common. While some can be treated at home with an ice pack, over-the-counter pain relievers and plenty of rest, there are those injuries that require expert medical attention, in order to get you past the pain and back in the game.

hard at a favorite sport such as softball, jogging, cycling, volleyball, basketball or hockey. “The weekend warrior is my most frequent patient with a sports-related injury,” Dr. Peterson said. “These are usually middle-aged individuals that work hard during the week and play hard during evenings or weekends.” Most injuries sustained by the weekend warrior are overuse related and can be prevented by moderation. “There has been a recent explosion in circuit class participation and also in marathon/ triathlon. People who go from being sedentary to high-mileage marathon training will sustain an overuse injury if they do not properly warm up and ease into the training,” Dr. Peterson said. Someone interested in getting fit at the gym or starting a weight-lifting program should initially seek consultation with a fitness trainer. A good trainer can judge the starting fitness level of an individual and tailor a program to avoid overuse injuries. “For example, a good rule of thumb for weight lifting is to only perform lifts if you can also see your elbows. This avoids unnecessary stress or strain on the shoulder,” Dr. Peterson said. He also advises that “weekend warriors” vary their exercise or sports routine. “Avoid performing the same activity multiple days in a row. This will allow you to prevent injury, and enjoy the myriad health benefits an active lifestyle can bring.” For more information visit SIOUXFALLSORTHODOC.com or AveraSports.org. u March 2014 | BizNOWmagazine.com | 21

Social Media in regional sports
d r a C t r o p e The R
Social media in local and regional tier sports is a very important way to develop a connection with fans. It provides a fan enrichment venue so that fans can feel closer to the club. The Sioux Falls Canaries, Stampede, Storm and Skyforce all have Twitter accounts. It’s a very important marketing strategy for teams to have a strong connection with their fans, and now clubs do this by not only hosting local events, but by updating their status, tweeting, and posting pictures on Instagram.

Post a lot of pictures! Pictures are an easy way to show interesting day-to-day activities and events that happen within the organization.

Giving out prizes and conducting contests is a great way to connect with fans. Note that the greater the prize, the greater number of retweets and likes, the greater the excitement within the fan base!
Grading the Sioux Falls’ teams:
A-
Sioux Falls Skyforce The Sioux Falls-based Skyforce team easily has the most
followers on Twitter, with 5,385. In comparison with other regional teams such as the Iowa Energy, they have a decent social media presence. They are well placed and earn an A minus.
B+ A-
Sioux Falls Stampede With 2,384 followers, the Stampede continuously
updates their twitter even when other leagues for other sports are in full swing. They earn a B plus.
The Sioux Falls Canaries
The Canaries come in at a close 3rd with 2,213 followers. The club announced a name change from the Fighting Pheasants to the Canaries on March 21, 2013. With that comes a necessary change in marketing. Sioux Falls Sports, LLC collaborated with Sioux Falls-based Fresh Produce to design a new logo. As regards to social media the club has a noticeable strategy, and interacts with its sister team the Sioux Falls Stampede. They earn an A minus.
B-
The Sioux Falls Storm
With the fewest Twitter followers, the Storm also has the fewest pictures posted. What could they do to score higher? Posting more pictures is a good start … they can even be the usual quirky Instagram snaps, which are often the most popular! The Storm earns a B minus.
Advertise business partners:
Advertising is the best way a sports organization raises money. It’s also a big part of the operating budget for a club. It’s important to show a strong partnership between sponsors and sports clubs. Remember, in addition to social media, your advertising campaign should include print and broadcast as well to reach the widest audience.
Create an identity.
A sports organization has to remember that it promotes an event, which is a form of entertainment. But the event itself is only a small portion of the plan. If fans can get 24/7 updates on the team, the coaching staff, the players, it just boosts the club’s social media standing.

Biz Lunch Corner Need a great place to take a client? Try Spezia! This venue is not only fun dining, but you can even write your meeting notes right on the table! Great atmosphere with lunch specials, soups, salads and sandwiches; talk it out over salmon, steaks, pizza or pasta. If you’re going to seal the deal, there’s a notable wine list as well. We like it for a private booth business lunch or secluded large group meeting; with adequate parking at 57th & Louise. Got a place we should know about? Send in your own review in 75 words or less - we’d love to hear about it! info@biznowmagazine.com
