Evelyn Knight Jewelry · Constance Anthon · Designer · www.evelynknight.com · Booth 419 What is the history behind the brand’s name Evelyn Knight? As a young child, I often spent weekends at my grandmother Evelyn Knight’s home. She was an avid collector of jewelry as well as an art dealer. I was exposed to amazing jewelry at a very young age. What is your main source of inspiration when designing? Ancient cultures, fashion trends, street art, and jewelry making classes (silversmith, stone setting, mold making, etc.). Where is your jewelry made? All our jewelry is handmade in our studio in San Francisco, California. The material is lead-free pewter plated in 22k gold. How does your brand continue to create the highest quality of jewelry each season? I am always doing marketing research and following trends in fashion and art. I am also enrolled in an independent study program at a local art college where we all exchange ideas and inspire each other. What is the best advice you have ever received? My grandmother, Evelyn Knight, told me to do what I love and I will be successful at it. I’m doing just that. If you were not the designer of this brand, what would you be doing? I have two other jewelry lines; C. Anthon Jewelry is all sterling silver and Tatto Jewelry is one of a kind. They keep me busy!
accessoriestheshow Kesha Rose by Charles Albert · Ke$ha · www.kesharosebycharlesalbert.com · booth 309 How did the collaboration with the Charles Albert brand come about? I have been wearing Charles Albert for a few years now and I’m obsessed with their jewelry. It’s fun, massive, and makes such a wild statement. I didn’t know Charles himself until we started working together, but once we did, I realized how amazing this partnership would be because of how similar our vision and aesthetic are. What is one of your key items for this upcoming Holiday/Resort 13-14 season? The teeth!! They were molded after one of my fan’s teeth that were sent to me. They are my favorite because they represent my love for all of my ANIMALS. Explain your creative process in designing this collection. The design process was so fun. Charles, Beth and their whole team are so collaborative and always a good time to work with. Going to their office was like a crazy playground for me – so many fun stones and colors and weird objects! We just sat around and played with all of it for a few days and ended up with a sick collection of pieces in the end. I could not be more excited. How do you go about expressing your authentic self through this collection making it truly mirror your style? Each piece is a reflection of me, what I like to feel, and what I like to wear. The natural materials and bold statement pieces really reflect my design aesthetic and style. I only design pieces that I would actually wear – and I do! What is the best advice you have ever received? The best advice I ever received was from my mom who told me to never take no for an answer. If you want something, you have to fight for it and never give up. How do you personally stay up-to-date with fashion? I try not to worry about staying “up-to-date” on current trends. It’s all just fun for me so I wear what I feel comfortable in and what makes me happy. The most attractive thing about a person is confidence. If you feel good in what you’re wearing, you will always look great!

olivia + joy · Morgan Henderson · Sales · www.oliviaandjoy.com · Booth 448 What is one of olivia + joy’s “must-have” items for this upcoming Holiday/Resort 13-14 season? Our must-haves for all looks (daytime, work, and night out) are the Rockefeller Satchel, Nicolette Double Handle, and the Lillie Small Flap. What is a key factor in producing high quality fashion at an affordable price point? We always try to stay true to the brand and what we represent while offering our customer an affordable, trendy handbag she can feel proud to wear. What type of girl is this line designed for? Girls ranging from 18 years of age to 40 who are fashion savvy and cost-conscious. What should a woman’s handbag say about her? A woman should be able to show her personality and style through her handbag. olivia + joy offers multiple trends for both day and nighttime looks. Our girl is able to express herself throughout due to our affordable prices. What is your brand doing to address the growing importance of social media? We have opened olivia + joy to many social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city? New York City because it is a fun, young, fashion forward city.
accessoriestheshow Tabelina Inc · Isabel Cancela · Founder · www.tabelina.com · booth 427 What does the dragonfly symbol of the Tabelina logo represent? The Tabelina symbol is a majestic dragonfly in the shape of a woman’s body. A heart is in place of the head symbolizing how women think with their hearts. The woman in the logo follows her heart to manifest her dreams because she knows that only through the power of the heart do dreams really come true! Our lives, like the lives of the dragonfly, are but a fleeting moment in time so we must dream without limitation, live with intensity and authenticity, and fly like the Tabelina. Where does the brand’s name come from? ‘Tabelina’ is the nickname given to me by my maternal grandmother. This name evokes memories, lessons, and inspiration from a strong woman who taught me to dream, believe, and work for what I want in life. Tabelina has been affectionately named in honor of my sweet grandmother. Which elements are important in creating pieces that are complimentary to all individual styles? I like to design and create pieces with today’s woman in mind; the busy woman that wants to feel comfortable and confident but also elegant and chic. I love playing with colors which has a tremendous effect on how we feel. Ideally we not only want to look good but also feel good. What is one of your key items for this upcoming Holiday/Resort 13-14 season? Definitely the Valentina Crossbody Hobo. It is a very elegant and chic bag in snake pattern leather mixed with gold and pink. In your opinion, what is the distinction between style and fashion? Fashion is to follow trends and wear an ugly or a beautiful piece that doesn’t go with your personality or your body type. Style, on the other hand, is you; who you are and what you want to portray. How do you want to be seen and what is the statement you want to make with your clothing and accessories? What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I am terrified of frogs. accessoriestheshow.com
