Bijoux Num · Num Nontapun · Owner/Designer · Booth 1925 Describe your Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Our Fall/Winter collection is all about simple luxury. We create statement pieces that women can wear out at night yet versatile enough to wear during the day at work. Where does your main source of inspiration come from when designing a new collection? I find my inspiration while travelling. I always have my sketchbook with me. Do you try to keep with the trends or create your own? I create pieces with my own unique style. However, I like to use gemstones that embody the color of the season. What’s one staple accessory that you think every woman should own? I believe every woman should own a statement pearl necklace. I also believe a long baroque pearl necklace makes a strong statement. What is your brand doing to address the growing importance of social media and how has it impacted your business? While social media offers an opportunity for branding, we still find the best way to do business is through one-on-one interaction with our customers. How do you personally stay up-to-date with fashion? I always read through fashion magazines. Being in Los Angeles, an international city full of celebrities and stylists, I am constantly exposed to new fashion, ideas and trends. What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city? New York is a center of fashion trends and sets the direction for the fashion world. In New York City, fashion is everywhere you go and everything you see; whether it is the window display in flagship stores on 5th Avenue, high-end boutique shops on Madison, or trendy displays in SoHo. New York Fashion Week and renowned tradeshows are also must-go events for people in the fashion industry.

accessoriestheshow ShameOnJane · Kimberly Pauley · Owner · shameonjane.com · Booth 2159 Describe your Fall/Winter 2013 collection. ShameOnJane jewelry is all about fun. No matter what the season, we try to provide women with jewelry that makes them smile. Our Fall/Winter collection has even more personalized necklaces, rings and bracelets with our trendy modern twist. Where does your main source of inspiration come from when designing a new collection? My customers are my inspiration. Since many of our pieces are personalized, we spend a lot of time figuring out exactly what will make each customer happy. We collaborate on how to give the customer pieces that fit what they want. Do you try to keep with the trends or create your own? I try to take a trend and incorporate it into a classic. For example, the monogram necklace is a classic, but every season we invent new ways to make it fresh and exciting. What’s one staple accessory that you think every woman should own? Every woman should own a piece of personalized jewelry, of course. What is your brand doing to address the growing importance of social media and how has it impacted your business? We make an effort to reach out to our customers through social media on a daily basis. Social media makes it easier for ShameOnJane to promote the stores that carry our line. Our customers seem to use Instagram the most because they love to show off their personalized Twitter and name necklaces. How do you personally stay up-to-date with fashion? I love looking at the women on the streets of New York City. They are the trendsetters before anything even reaches a magazine. What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city? I consider New York City to be the best fashion city because I grew up here!

Ivy & Blu · Lisa Leavy-Fisher · President · ivyandblumaggieboutique.com · Booth 1325 Describe your Fall/Transition 2013 collection. Our Fall/Transition 2013 collection includes leather trims, lace, signature prints and novelties ranging from jacquards to full fashion knits. Oxblood and shades of blue are also very important. Where does your main source of inspiration come from when designing a new collection? Global trends, art, New York City and Paris are my main sources of inspiration. What’s one staple wardrobe piece you think every woman should keep in her closet? Every woman should have an “all-year, everywhere” dress that she can wear anywhere and feel put together and at her best. It can be accessorized to change its use accordingly. What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city? Paris - From the windows to the women, everywhere you look there is beauty. The diversity of the city inspires me wherever I go. Describe the type of woman that wears your designs. The type of woman that wears Ivy & Blu is feminine and sophisticated. Color elevates her mood and she wears the dress, it does not wear her. She loves being a woman. What do you hope to have achieved in the industry 10 years from now? In 10 years, I hope to have enhanced the lives of thousands of women by offering them clothing “solutions” to empower both their style and their lives. If you could teach an aspiring designer one valuable thing you have learned, what would it be? Understand your customer and provide a wardrobe to complement a woman’s multifaceted lifestyle.

MODA MANHATTAN Petit Pois by Viviana G. · Viviana Gabeiras · Designer/Fashion Director · mypetitpois.com · Booth 1225 Describe your Fall/Transition 2013 collection. One characteristic is the fusing of cultures and people who are opposite to each other, but somehow similar. This time I am bringing you on an atmospheric journey into the heart of the Golden City, Prague; with James Bond movies, music and the Bond Girls. Welcome to the magic world of Petit Pois by Viviana G. Where does your main source of inspiration come from when designing a new collection? I draw inspiration from my own lifestyle, traveling around the world, music, art, and movies. I really study how people dress, their attitudes, and street and urban fashion. I live for fashion, eat and breathe fashion, and create fashion. My passion is fashion! What’s one staple wardrobe piece you think every woman should keep in her closet? That very special little black dress, of course. It can take you anywhere. Describe the type of woman that wears your designs. The type of woman that wears Petit Pois by Viviana G. likes, appreciates and enjoys fashion. She is not defined by age but by her lifestyle and attitude towards herself. She likes to make a difference, whether at home, as a wife or at work. She lives a comfortable lifestyle (not necessarily wealthy, but certainly successful), likes to travel, and loves to mix fashion. What do you hope to have achieved in the industry 10 years from now? To continue to grow as a brand and have more stores carry our collection. We would love to start opening our own stores in the near future since we also manufacture the entire collection in the USA. We are already expanding our line; today we have our staple collection of Essentials, the ready to wear collection, and the Couture Collection. We are also developing our bag collection right now.

Moon Collection · Bitna You · Head Designer · mooncollection4u.com · Booth 534 Describe your Immediate Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. For the Fall, I am obsessed with almost flamboyant fabrics - whether that means extravagant textures or bold and graphical prints. As far as the balance or contrast, I am pursuing a minimalist or pared-down layout of silhouettes and shapes. Do you try to keep with the trends or create your own? I feel that it’s vital to be constantly aware of the trends, what is being shown and what is selling. It’s even more important for my designs to stay unique by giving them a twist and having them stand for something in order to create something fresh. What is one “must-have” item from this collection? It’s actually more of a look or an attitude; a military-influenced fabric blocked jacket over an almost juvenile-inspired character sweater with contrast sleeves and a technical fabric circle skirt in a random bright color. What is your brand doing to address the growing importance of social media and how has it impacted your business? We have a Facebook page and a Tumblr account where we showcase our designs and we also post regularly on Instagram. I love the promptness of the comments and the “likes” we get. We love the ability to connect, share our styles and be inspired as well. If you could dress a celebrity who you feel fits your product image, who would it be and why? I would love to dress Olivia Palermo. She interprets fashion in a very personal and idiosyncratic way; sometimes it’s in a trend-inspired way, but never too trendy or head to toe. It’s effortless. How do you personally stay up-to-date with fashion? I am more inspired by the way real people mix and interpret fashion at every level. I view all the fashion shows online, but prefer seeing the whimsical, personal takes of the bloggers and attendees on garments and accessories. What three items are essential to you during market week? A giant iced Americano, my iPhone and a pair of heels that I can endure for more than three hours at a time.

FAME TCEC · Esther Chong · Designer · tcecdesign.com · Booth 119 Describe your Immediate Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. TCEC’s 2013 collection is an eclectic mix of chiffons and laces. You will still see lots of studs, laser-cuts and sheer lace accents. This season we are also dramatizing maxi skirts and long pants with bold prints, chiffon and lace overlays. Do you try to keep with the trends or create your own? We are always searching for new inspiration so it really depends on what we think will look best on our customers and which season we’re designing for. We like to take concepts from current trends and morph them into TCEC’s style through noticeable embellishments and fabric mixtures. What is your brand doing to address the growing importance of social media and how has it impacted your business? TCEC is in the process of taking advantage of the popularity that social media offers. Soon we will be on Instagram, so get a head start and hashtag #TCEC in your photos! If you could dress a celebrity who you feel fits your product image, who would it be and why? Chloe Grace Moretz is an amazing teen actress and has such a loveable character in each role she takes on. I would love to style her in TCEC because she is a great role model for the young girls who wear the brand. That is rare in Hollywood these days. How do you personally stay up-to-date with fashion? I love Stylesight and Vanity Fair, but in this industry it’s all about what real people want. Anyone and everyone can be a style icon in today’s world of the internet and I love browsing Chictopia.com and Fashiongloss.com. These sites support many street bloggers and really show what the world is loving, even if it’s only popular for a split second. What three items are essential to you during market week? In order for market week to run smoothly, everyone here can agree on the three essentials: internet, water and a positive attitude!
