John Sugden Sales & Marketing Director www.mackintosh.com Booth 264

How would you define your collection? Describe the Mackintosh man.

What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city for men and why?

Mackintosh is a luxury heritage brand, WITH an enviable provenance - we’re the original Mackintosh, and where the generic word itself derives from. Our timeless styling transcends both the classic and contemporary markets.

For me, it’s both Tokyo and NYC. Both cities have great men’s shopping which I feel is unrivalled. Also, they both have areas where you can look for either casualwear or formalwear, and have many stores of a great level. If I had to put my finger on one particular area though, it would be Tokyo’s Marunouchi area. Great menswear shops all on one street!

Which “must-have” item from your Fall/Winter 2013 collection will instantly update a man’s wardrobe? I’d have to suggest the men’s Monkton in Loro Piana’s storm system wool fabric. Double breasted coats seem to be popular right now and our classic in look but contemporary in fit Monkton ticks the box. The Loro Piana storm system fabric is breathable and showerproof at the same time; a really beautiful fabric.

From where do you draw inspiration?

What is your favorite New York City hangout? Peter Luger’s steakhouse - If you’re an “Englishman in New York”, I guess it’s imperative that you have an amazing American steak! Or Schiller’s down on the Lower East Side for something a little more casual and a good band to listen to.

If you were not a designer or principal of this brand, what would you be doing? Tough question! Personally, classic cars are my hobby so I’d be rallying all over Europe. Despite being on it’s doorstep, there is so much of Europe that I’ve never been to.

Mackintosh is a British brand. Coming from a country with so much heritage... where better to look than our own back yard?

Nicky Wallace Owner www.nickywallace.com Booth 371

How would you define your collection? Describe the Nicky Wallace man. It’s a niche collection for the metro man; that sharply dressed but individually minded man-about-town. It features edgy tailoring with sportswear and accessories, giving a decidedly different look. The Nicky Wallace collection is all about the detail.

From where do you draw inspiration? My inspiration comes from my love and passion for the tradition of good tailoring, which is my background. I like to play with all the possibilities that one can achieve by taking modern tailoring to the limit and fusing it with sportswear. My inspiration also comes from my love of observing people, art and architecture as I travel and being aware of whatever tiny details that present themselves. More than anything, it is beauty in everything and in people that inspires me most.

What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city for men and why? It is so hard to state which is the best fashion city for men as all the major fashion capitals bring that special something. I am greedy; I need them all! Milan for consummate perfection, London for its eclectic appeal, Paris for the romance of fashion and history of couture, and New York for its positive energy and drive.

What do you think the next major shift in the menswear industry will be? I believe the next major shift will be a move towards more responsible consumerism with a growing awareness of environmental issues. For example, a caring for the provenance of products such as less waste, buying less, buying carefully, and buying good quality product to build a wardrobe full of beautiful clothes that mean something.

What is your favorite New York City hangout? I love to hang out in a basic breakfast bar and listen to ordinary New Yorkers passing comment. I love the Manhattan Skyline as I approach the city at night. I love the general good nature of cheeky, cheery taxi drivers as well as hanging out in Soho, finding new bars and interesting independent stores.

Robert (Bob) Christnacht Director of Worldwide Sales www.pendleton-usa.com Booth 910

How would you define your collection? Describe the Pendleton Woolen Mills man.

What do you think the next major shift in the menswear industry will be?

Pendleton Men’s wear is for the man who appreciates classic style in a modern FITTED shape, or a more relaxed traditional fit.

American heritage brands are going to continue for quite a while longer. I see a rediscovery of more “dressed” looks which will include more jackets.

Which “must-have” item from your Fall/Winter 2013 collection will instantly update a man’s wardrobe? A Thomas Kay jacket. Also, a great plaid shirt, a luxurious merino sweater, a uniquely crafted outerwear piece, and five accessory pieces - such as a fabulous scarf, an awesome bag (messenger or duffel), hardy gloves, an interesting hat and a tech bag.

From where do you draw inspiration? Pendleton has an extensive and amazing archive that reaches back over 100 years. It is abundant with amazing fabrics and styles as well as inspiring heritage designs that appeal to today’s consumer. We keep a close pulse on men’s fashion trends and direction.

What is your favorite New York City hangout? II Vagabondo restaurant for playing bocce ball and enjoying good food with a glass of Chianti.

If you were not a designer or principal of this brand, what would you be doing? I would be fishing in Montana, probably as a fishing guide.

What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city for men and why? Tokyo; the men have a great sense of adventure in dressing which redefines men’s style.

David Schottenstein www.swissstays.com

Founder/CEO Booth 355

How would you define your collection?

From where do you draw inspiration?

Swiss Stays began as a solution borne of necessity, but has developed into a game-changing menswear accessory. Swiss Stays patented collars stays adjust to suit a range of differing collar sizes and ensure that no matter the dress shirt, you look your best. Swiss Stays can be described as a necessity for busy, successful, well dressed men.

I have had success in this industry by bringing new ideas to the market. Astor and Black grew from the European dress sensibilities I saw when studying in Italy. Swiss Stays is an extension of that same philosophy. Quality collar stays are something that every man needs and have tons of use for. Collar Stays are an accessory that are often overlooked until the crucial moment, when he is scrambling through a drawer trying to find a set, or is contorting himself to get one to fit into the collar. Swiss Stays solve every problem. They adjust to fit any collar, are durable and of high-quality, and come in a range of presentation packages that ensure they won’t easily be misplaced.

Describe the Swiss Stays man. The Swiss Stays man is a discerning dresser, who knows that every detail can mean the difference between winning and losing - making this accessory an essential component of any successful businessman’s wardrobe.

Which “must-have” item from your Fall/Winter 2013 collection will instantly update a man’s wardrobe? At this time of the year, we believe our Sterling Silver Swiss Stays are a must-have. The durability and supremely elegant finish of Sterling Silver Swiss Stays results in a superior menswear accessory, to be treasured and remembered by. The inside of each Sterling Silver Gift Set is hallmarked with both the 925 mark of the highest quality Sterling Silver and our Swiss Stays mark of excellence. The set is presented in a Nappa calfskin leather box with chrome finishes.

What is your favorite New York City hangout? I love Wolf & Lamb. My favorite food in the world (after my wife’s... no joke, i’m not just saying that for brownie points, she’s actually the greatest cook ever). Great atmosphere, very authentic, elegant, and outstanding food.
