PROGRAM REGISTRATION INFORMATION Message from the Mayor:

Message from the Manager of Parks Recreation & Facilities:

I am pleased that the Town of Innisfil is able to provide you with the 2012 Winter Parks & Recreation Program Guide. There are some remarkable program opportunities that have been developed by our program staff and the community that will help you in preparing for a healthy and active winter season.

Welcome to our 2012 Winter Program Guide. As winter approaches the Parks & Recreation staff are working hard to provide many new and returning programs for the residents of Innisfil. Please take time to browse our guide and take advantage of a variety of programs for the whole family.

I invite you to come out and join the Alcona Santa Claus Parade on Sunday, November 27th at 1:30pm.

During the holiday season, municipal nonemergency offices will be closed Monday December 26th, Tuesday December 27th, and Monday January 2nd. Mark your calendar for a free New Year’s Day Skate, January 1, 2012 at the Innisfil Recreational Complex from 2:00pm to 4:00pm personally sponsored by Innisfil’s Town Council. For further information please contact me at (705) 436-3740 ext 1101, or bbaguley@innisfil.ca Have a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Twenty-five years ago on the original Man in Motion world tour, Rick Hansen wheeled through 34 countries to raise awareness of the potential of people with disabilities. On Thursday December 8th between 2:30pm and 3:30pm, our community will be celebrating the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay at the Innisfil Recreational Complex. Local resident Rick Winson has been selected as Innisfil’s designated Medal-Bearer for the 2 kilometers of the Innisfil Journey. Together with family and friends, our community will share this moment to be cherished for years to come. Don’t miss your chance to celebrate that special day. Watch the Town website and local papers for further details.

This past Summer and Fall was very busy within the Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department. On October 6th a group of volunteers along with the Town completed a successful first year of a Farmer’s Market at the Innisfil Recreational Complex. Plans are being formulated for a bigger market next Spring. Our Innisfil Beach Park improvements are currently being finalized. Our improvements include a new washroom, operation garage, boat launch, waterfront and parking lots. The toboggan hill located just west of the diamonds now has a parking lot available for residents to use during the winter months; as well a light will be installed at the hill prior to this year’s season for safer evening use. Please take advantage of the waterfront pathway as it will be plowed daily during the winter months. Plans are also being developed for a new washroom/change room facility at Leonard’s Beach. The improvements are funded by the Leonard’s Beach Association. We look forward to this construction project commencing Spring 2012. Have a great winter season, get involved and get active!

Regards,

Regards,
