At the outset, it is my immense pleasure to read the cultural report for the academic year 201617. Our prestigious institution believes that cultural events are also equally important as academic activities to see the all-around development in the students and to bring out the hidden talent in the students.

Hence many cultural events were conducted during the academic year 2016-17 under the guidance of Dr. M. Jayappa, Principal, and under the leadership of Prof. Prathap, viceprincipal of RBANMs First Grade College.

• On the 6th and the 7th of September 2016,

Talent’s Day was conducted in the college in the quadrangle. The event was inaugurated by the Principal, vice-principal, and all staff members. Several events such as rangoli, pot painting, memory test, sketching, mehndi, dumb charades, cooking, without fire, hairstyling, solo singing, group singing, solo dance, group dance, collage, adaptune, anthakshari, just-a-minute, face painting, beatboxing, beat the clock, quiz, tongue twister, fashion show, and so on.

• On 5 September 2016, Talents Day was a grand success. The teachers’ day was celebrated with Hon. Secretary Sashindar M.

Narrain and Chief Educational officer. Retired Major General Kumbar of RBANMS

Educational Charities graced the occasion and appreciated the role of teachers in society and presented mementos on the occasion.

• On 16 September 2016, Ganesha pooja was celebrated in a rich look in the college quadrangle. The blessings of Lord Ganesha invoked the prosperity of all students and staff members.

• Our college students participated in the intercollegiate fest conducted by different colleges in the city, such as Mahalakshmi Ammanni

College, Malleswaram Ladies Association,

Kairalee Nikethan Golden Jubilee, Degree College, Sindhi College, St. Anne's Degree College,

MQI Degree College, MES College, Jyothi Nivas College under the guidance of cultural committee, Government First Grade College,

KR Puram, Maharani College and so on. Students won many prizes in various events like group dance, beat-boxing, mad-ads, adaptune, solo dance, and so on.

• On 12 January 2017 the Principal, staff members, and students attended Swamy Vivekananda Jayanthi, organized by Ramakrishna Ashram, Ulsoor. The Government of Karnataka arranged bus facilities for our students and 300 students attended “YOUTH WEEK” valedictory function at the Palace Grounds.

• On 8 March 2017, Ethnic Day was conducted, and all students dressed up traditionally and the function was organized in the AV room in the presence of the Principal, vice-principal, and

Department of Tamil, and other staff members. Women's Day program was also held in the college under the able guidance of Ms. Sivagami, HOD & Department of Tamil & also who is in charge of the cell.

• On 17th September 2017 the graduation day was organized in the college with a dress code and photo session for the students.

The turning point for cultural events was Inter Collegiate Kalanjali Fiesta 2017 which was held in the college on 22-03-2017. The events conducted were group dance, solo dance, beat-boxing, and fashion show. The program was inaugurated with colorful entry of film stars, Sri. Shashank Purushotham, Miss. Nivedita, Sri H. Eswarappa, story writer and Director, Hon. Secretary Sashindar M. Narrain, Chief Educational Officer, Major General (Retd.) K. Kumbar, Sri A.A. Sanjeev Narrain, treasurer of RBANMS Educational Charities, Dr. M. Jayappa, Principal, and Prof. Prathap, Vice Principal, and the staff members. We received a good response for the events 25 to 30 colleges across the city registered for various events. In the valedictory function, cash prizes were distributed to the winners of the various events and finally appreciated by the Principal for the efforts of the staff members and others who made this mega event a grand success.

I thank our Management for RBANM's Educational Charities, Principal, Vice Principal, Staff. Members & students extended their support for successfully conducting various Cultural events during the academic year 2016-2017.
