July 1, 2021 Dear Cattle Producer, Thank you for your interest in consigning bulls in the Blackbelt Cattle Marketing Fall Ball Sale. The sale will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Alabama Livestock Auction in Uniontown, AL. We are targeting bulls for this sale that will make a difference for the producers who purchase them. Therefore, the number of bulls offered will not be large, but they will be of high quality. Here are important deadlines to meet to help ensure the sale is successful: September 1, 2021 – Commitment deadline with bull numbers, breeds and registration numbers. October 1, 2021 – Any potential footnotes or information you want us to know so we can specifically market your bulls. This information can be sent in September. October 19, 2021 – 1st possible date for breeding soundness exams to be scheduled. All bulls will be screened for structural correctness and quality after September 1st once bull commitments are received. Photos and videos will also be taken prior to October 1st for website and Facebook postings as well as a sale mailout. We are very pleased and excited to present this marketing opportunity. 2021 Blackbelt Cattle Marketing Fall Ball Bull Consignment Information Sale Date: Friday, November 19, 2021 Sale Time: 11:00 a.m. Place: Alabama Livestock Auction in Uniontown, AL Delivery Date: Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rules for Virgin Bulls: 1. Bulls should be virgins. 2. Bull birthdates: August 1, 2019 through November 30, 2020 3. Bulls must be registered with their respective breed association and have EPD values for at least birth weight, weaning weight, milk and yearling weight. 4. Bulls must be eligible for transfer of ownership to the buyer. 5. Bulls must pass and have documentation of passing a breeding soundness exam from a qualified veterinarian no more than 30 days prior to sale date. Documentation must be turned into the sales management when bulls are delivered on Thursday, November 18, 2021. 6. Recommended Vaccinations and best management practices are the following: a. 7‐way Blackleg (Clostridial diseases) b. 5‐way Leptospirosis ‐ Vibriosis c. IBR‐PI3‐BVD‐BRSV d. Bulls should be treated for internal and external parasites within 30 days prior to the sale using a quality product as a best management practice. The above vaccines should be given twice (a primary and booster) in accordance with the specific vaccine label directions or within a veterinarian‐client relationship in accordance with Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) guidelines. 7. Each bull will be screened for structural correctness, overall quality, foot structure and adequate weight per day of age. The sales management has the right to refuse inferior quality bulls. 8. Bulls must not have been implanted with a growth implant at any time during their life. Sale Order and Sale Commission: Sale order will be determined by a committee once all consignment females and bulls are received at the sale barn on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Bulls will sell after the heifers and pairs are sold. Bull sale order will rotate among consignors and will take into consideration overall quality. Sales commission will be 8%. However, there is an opportunity to pay less (or more) commission if sale information is received early/on time (or late) according to the following schedule: Consignment Data Received by October 1, 2021 10/2 to 10/15/2021 After 10/15/21 On or before 9/1/2021 7.5% 8.0% 8.5% Additional charge: If bulls arrive to the sale facility NOT tagged with both the visual and EID tags, there will be a $35/head chute charge to tag your cattle.
