Fall 2023 Dear Fellow Cattle Producers, Welcome to the 3rd Annual Blackbelt Marketing Company Fall Ball Replacement Heifer Sale! It is a privilege to offer this outstanding set of replacement females and virgin bulls for your consideration. There will also be a few Fall pairs - 1st calf heifers with their Fall calf on side. Each individual offering has been screened for quality and structural correctness. Performance has been bred into each individual animal offered for your consideration. It seems every few years we say the U.S. Beef Industry is in unprecedented times. And here we are again! Prices are high for feeder calves, cull cows and cull bulls, but it is coupled with high input costs. Heifers represent 40% of all placements in feedyards. Beef cow inventory is down - at least to 2014 levels which points to higher prices for feeder cattle to last several years. These conditions provide you the opportunity to replace unproductive cows with quality replacement females and to bring the best genetics into your bull battery. At Blackbelt Cattle Marketing, we believe we are offering the type of cattle that will position your herd well into the future. Additional videos, photos and information can be found on our website. If you have any questions, please give us a call, a text or an email. The full catalog will be available on sale day. If you are unable to attend the sale in person, we will handle your bids in a most confidential manner or you may bid online via DVAuction. Cattle will be ready to view at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17th at the Alabama Livestock Auction in Uniontown, AL. The sale will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be available at the Stockyard Cafe. We look forward to visiting with you and helping you find the cattle right for your operation. As a reminder, commercial heifers and pairs will be sold in groups of 2 to 4 heifers. There may be an instance or 2 of a single pair selling. Registration papers will be transferred to the buyer for registered heifers. Bred heifers are guaranteed bred on sale day. If there is doubt a heifer is not bred, we encourage producers to have them checked within 30 days of the sale. Bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam within 30 days of the sale and will be negative for Trichomoniasis. Registration papers will be transferred to the buyer. We encourage all bull buyers to have the bull undergo a second breeding soundness exam before putting him in a breeding pasture if that occurs more than 30 days after the sale.

These home raised commercial Brangus heifers are deep hipped, long bodied with plenty of muscle and volume. Heifers were born in Fall 2021 and early Winter 2022. Prairie Creek Farms have worked tirelessly to create fully functional commercial females whose steer mates are desired in the feedlot through careful attention to sire selection and cow families. Their cowherd also has a proven history of longevity with many brood cows producing 10+ calves. Heifers are pasture bred to a Ultrablack(TM) son of BRD Range Rover 889G. This bull was bred right and is in the top 1% for calving ease and birth weight. He is in the top 30% or better of Ultrablack(TM) bulls for yearling weight, milk, REA and intramuscular fat. This exceptional cleanup bull should produce progeny that will excel both in the feedlot and cow herd. Heifers have been exposed since January 9, 2023. Pregnancy data available by sale day.
