Welcome to the 3rd Annual Blackbelt Cattle Marketing Company Spring Fling Replacement Heifer Sale!

Grass is growing, temperatures are warming up and there is optimism is the U.S. Beef Industry. Overall beef cattle numbers are down across the United States. Feedlot placements are smaller and prices for feeder calves are moving higher The southeastern United States has an opportunity to provide additional feeder calves to the market and take advantage of higher prices

The set of heifers we are offering in the 2023 Spring Fling are ready to go to work Most are bred for Fall calves These cattle are comprised of some of the best genetics available in the U S We will also offer approximately 35 Spring pairs They will be ready to breed back for their 2nd calf, while you wean their first calf in the Fall

Additional videos, photos and information on each set of females can be found on our website. If you have any questions, please give us a call, a text or an email. The full catalog will be available on sale day. If you are unable to attend the sale in person, DVAuction will be streaming the sale and taking your bids online. We will also handle your bids in a most confidential manner. Additionally, please call ahead to make arrangements if you prefer to bid over the phone.

Cattle will be ready to view at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 26th at the Alabama Livestock Auction in Uniontown, AL. The sale will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be available at the Stockyard Cafe We look forward to visiting with you and helping you find the heifers right for your operation

The Beeker offering consists of 25 to 30 head of quarter and half blood Brahman females. These females were pasture exposed to Angus and Red Angus bulls from November 20, 2022 to February 1, 2023. The Angus bull is a balanced calving ease EPD Angus bull with plenty of growth, milk, maternal calving ease and carcass quality genetics The Red Angus bulls come from the heart of the breeding program of Dennis Krien Red Angus in St Francis, KS Heifers will start calving in late August through early November

Broussard Farms is offering one pen of half-blood Brahman and one pen of quarter-blood Brahman heifers These 8 fall calving heifers, that are developed on blackbelt soils, are bred to low birth weight EPD Angus bulls

C&H Farms; Opelika, AL

Three purebred Hereford heifers sired by CHF Closing Belle 240 9115 ET Two heifers are registered while the 3rd heifer is a commercial Hereford heifer Heifers were bred AI to either UPS Sensation 2296 ET (AHA 43311175) or R Leader 6964 (AHA 43500058) on 1/26 and 1/27/2023 They were also exposed to a cleanup son of Hometown 10Y (AHA 44274293) from February 10 to April 8, 2023 Heifers are structurally correct out of dams with impeccable udders and feet. Heifers will be confirmed pregnant to the AI bull or cleanup bull by sale day.

Dixon Farms; Thomasville, AL

Five registered SimAngus heifers. They are due to calve in late August through September to a calving ease half blood SimAngus bull (ASA 3844008) with plenty of growth, maternal and carcass quality. Simmental registration numbers of the 5 heifers are 3964649, 3964672, 3964676, 3964679 and 3964686. This is a super fancy set of females.

Thje FIncher consignment consists of 20 quarter-plus females from the replacement pen Developed in Mobile County, AL these heifers are deep bodied and good! They are bred to low birth weight EPD Angus sires

Heflin Farms; Clanton, AL

The foundation of Heflin Farms cow herd is ABBA certified F1 females bred by Carey Cauthen in Montgomery Heflin Farms is offering a total of 13 Angus sired females out of these F1s bred to a Next Step SimAngus bull (ASA 3855096) who is a calving ease specialist loaded with growth and maternal Six of the heifers will calve in late September to early November. The remaining heifers will calve in December and January.

Kenansville Cattle Company will be offering 79 of their best true three breed composite heifers. Heifers are composed of Brahman, Hereford and Red Angus genetics Their three breed rotational crossbreeding program has been in place for over 20 years This allows for 86% individual and maternal retained heterosis or hybrid vigor in the resulting females The herd has consistently been selected for cowherd fertility, growth, frame size and carcass quality Beginning in 2021, additional selection pressure was placed on heifer weaning weight

Kenansville Cattle Co.; Kenansville, FL

The 79 heifers will consist of 50 Hereford sired females and 29 Brahman sired females. When preg-checking, 10 of the Brahman sired heifers are pregnant with heifer calves as determined by ultrasound.

Brahman bulls are Kempfer Cattle genetics based in Saint Cloud, Florida. CK Ranch genetics from Salina, Kansas is the source of Hereford bulls while Red Angus bulls are sourced from Shuler Red Angus in Bridgeport, NE.

Little Rock Farm, Inc.; Greensboro, AL

The Little Rock Farm offering consists of 30 Brangus crossbred females and 20 purebred Brahman heifers. The Brangus cross heifers are deep, thick, big footed and good. Born and developed in the Blackbelt, they are ready to go to work. They were pasture exposed to low birth weight Tanner Angus bulls beginning January 1, 2023. Expect the first calves to be born in early October

The set of purebred Brahman heifers are 2 years old and are bred to horned Hereford bulls making their calves true F1s! These females are fancy and will produce calves for many years to come They will also calve beginning in early October

Meadowlake Farm; Talledega, AL

Meadowlake Farm will be offering a group of 3 purebred Hereford heifers from the heart of their breeding program and a pen of 5 baldies out of Hereford dams and a SimAngus bull Meadowlake Farm has emphasized cow fertility and longevity, structural correctness including feet and udders, and performance for generations They are bred to a calving ease SimAngus bull from the Timberlake Cattle program These heifers will start calving in September 2023.

Morris Farms; Weogufka, AL

Morris Farms has been raising quality cattle in the heart of Coosa County for decades. These 8 commercial Angus heifers are stout with plenty of shape of rib and structurally correct. These heifers are all paternal half sisters out of a Mytty in Focus son and bred to a low birth weight EPD Hickok son. These heifers will be coming 3 year olds when they calve beginning in September 2023

Prairie Creek Farms; Gallion, AL

Prairie Creek will be offering 5 to 10 commercial Brangus heifers They are bred to a calving ease Utrablack bull with above average growth, marbling and muscling Heifers will start calving in mid to late October 2023

River Bend Cattle Co., Carrollton, GA

This offering is primarily Brangus crossbred females with a handful of half blood Brahman Red Angus females Heifers were AI bred on December 2, 2022 and February 1, 2023 to calving ease SimAngus bulls Gibbs 7124E Stonewall (ASA 3405044) and CCR Boulder 1339A (ASA 2880390). These 20 heifers were pasture exposed to Salacoa Valley calving ease Brangus bulls packed with growth and carcass. Currently, 6 of the heifers are confirmed pregnant to an AI bull. These females have been raised right to ensure longevity and functionality in the herd.

S & W Cattle; Uniontown, AL

S & W Cattle are offering 10 half blood Brahman females that will calve in the Fall They are bred to low birth weight bulls which will ensure these calves will hit the ground growing with plenty of muscle

These 30 quarter blood heifers are deep, thick and from the keepin' pen. Schober Cattle Company is known for quality replacement heifers developed in the Blackbelt region of Alabama. Heifers are sired by Angus bulls out of Brangus type cows. Heifers are bred to CK Angus bulls and will begin to calve in late September 2023

Stephens Farms is offering 11 bred Simmental-Angus heifers from the heart of their keepin' pen. This tremendous set of SimAngus heifers are bred, born and raised on the Blackbelt Prairie at Stephens Farm. These AI sired (8 Madison and 3 Niagra) heifers were AI bred to the Angus AI sire Tahoe (AAA 17817177) on December 5, 2022 and cleaned up with Tahoe sons. Tahoe is a top 25% calving ease bull in the top 15% for weaning, yearling, milk and REA EPD values. Each of these heifers are structurally correct with volume, capacity and muscling These heifers are all eligible to be registered with the Simmental Assn at the buyer's request Heifers will begin calving in mid-September 2023

Stone Cattle Company are bringing the best to town. They have 15 half-blood females that are big footed and stout. Seven of the heifers are tiger-stripes. Bred to a son of the Angus bull Sitz Upward 307R . They will calves from August to November.

Woodco Cattle Company is sending 12 SimAngus heifers from their 2021 calf crop They are a fancy set of black heifers with generations of performance bred in Bred to low birth weight SimAngus bull with plenty of growth and carcass, they will begin calving in the Fall Registration papers available upon request American Simmental Association registration numbers of the 12 heifers are 4051437, 4051439, 4051441, 4051442, 4051450, 4051451, 4051453, 4051456, 4051460, 4051463, 4051464 and 4051468. They will calve in September and October.

This group with consist of 20 black mottled face and red mottled face heifers with about 3/8 ear. They are bred to a low birth weight Angus bull beginning December 15, 2022. These heifers will begin calving in late September.

In 2023, we are offering a group of Spring Pairs They will sell with their calf on side Most of the females will not be confirmed bred by sale day. This gives you the opportunity to breed these first calf heifers any way you wish while weaning a calf in the Fall.

Bell Farm and Cattle Company are offering 6 Spring born pairs. The females are primarily SimAngus types with two Brangus types Females were bred AI to a Hereford bull (AHA 43268007), a Brangus bull (IBBA 10364223) and an Angus bull (AAA 19962702) Calves have been worked (4 heifers and 2 bulls), received their 1st round of vaccinations and bull calves castrated Bell Farms will also be offering 4 heavy bred females bred to the same bulls

These commercial Brangus 1st calf heifers are from Town Creek genetics. These females are moderate in frame because they have to produce on grass, hay, minerals and cottonseed supplementation (winter months) Any female not weaning 50% of their body weight or not breeding in a 75 day breeding season is culled Cox Cattle and Produce are offering six pairs with 4 steer calves and 2 heifer calves at side sired by Brangus bulls All the calves have had their first round of blackleg

S & W Cattle; Uniontown, AL

S & W Cattle are offering 20 half blood Brahman females with Angus sired calves on their sides. They have been exposed to a Charolais bull. Calves have received their first round of vaccinations.

This Simmental composite bull is a stout made, structurally correct bull with plenty of depth of body and spring of rib. His dam was purchased from the Rasco herd in Alabama and continues to produce quality calves year after year. This bull will produce calves with plenty of growth and daughters that will milk. He is heterozygous black and homozygous polled.

This Angus bull is an ET calf with plenty of growth and muscle. His pedigree makes him a great out-cross bull that is loaded with both superior paternal and maternal genetics. His daughters will be structurally sound and have the maternal genetics to be productive in your herd for many generations. He is moderate framed with genetics for efficiency.
