Elevating Your Wedding Day Style with Accessories: Tips to turn your bridal look editorial
WRITTEN BY PATRICE MORGAN
Congratulations, you’ve found the dress, but you want more than a standard bridal look. You want something that is stylish and editorial. The bridal accessories you choose to give your dress that perfect personal touch, and the process to make that happen, might seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.
An editorial bridal look evokes stylish, high fashion. If this is what you are hoping to achieve on your wedding day, then you want to pick pieces that elevate your style, not overshadow it. To help you decide on what pieces to wear, we’ve put together our top tips to help you pick the ideal accessories:
LESS IS MORE
It’s tempting to go over the top with your bridal jewelry. There’s so much bling and sparkle to choose from— who wouldn’t want to wear it all? But, for an editorial bridal look, less is more. At the end of the day, the focus should be on you.
If you find that one or two of your accessories look too bold, consider having one statement complimented with a more subtle piece. For instance, wear a statement headpiece with smaller earrings. It’s also a good idea to remember that you don’t need to wear every type of jewelry on your wedding day. For an editorial look, just one or two accessories is all you need!
BUILD-IN MUST-HAVE PIECES FROM THE BEGINNING
While jewelry is great to work in for an editorial style, avoid wearing a necklace unless it’s a pendant or has cultural significance. If there’s a particular piece you know you’ll want to wear, bring it to your dress appointment so you can see it styled from the start!
CURRENT BRIDAL ACCESSORIES TRENDS
In the past year, brides are getting more personal and creative with their bridal looks. They’re veering away from traditional pieces and adding more unique statements through hair pieces. Sparkly headbands and crowns, like our Angelica and Lady Dy pieces, are a more glam, stylized way to do a flower crown. Another chic idea? An ear to ear piece, like the Cinderella, that is both versatile and flexible for any bun or updo!
