'Method dressing', is not fancy dressing, but it is a great way to represent a project and to be playful with fashion.
"Sometimes you want to celebrate a character, a feeling, or more general aesthetic from the film," celebrity stylist Leith Clark tells us. "But it comes more from a place of celebration and inspiration, rather than emulation.”
While method dressing is nothing new, it has been taken to new levels of late.

Wednesday is one of the biggest hits Netflix has ever had, and during the press tour, the lead actor, Jenna Ortega, injected a gothic style into each and every look – particularly for the world premiere, where she wore this black lace Versace gown, complete with a veil.
Probably one of the most famous examples of a celebrity paying tribute to their on-screen character is Margot Robbie throughout the Barbie press tour.
Anya Taylor-Joy has always had fun with her red-carpet fashion, and the press tour for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was no exception. While promoting, the actress had been seen wearing plenty of tough-luxe leather, metallics, & edgy materials.
The press tour for The Little Mermaid was filled with numerous ocean-inspired ensembles, and the movie's star, Halle Bailey, sported one of our favs. For the premiere, the actress wore a blue custom gown by Valdrin Sahiti which represented the movie beautifully.
Zendaya never misses an opportunity to incorporate method dressing into a press tour – and for the first premiere of Challengers, in which she plays a tennis star, the actress wore a green sequin gown which featured the outline of a player serving.
