Throughouttheevent,therewererunway walks,musicalacts,athletic demonstrations,dancing&more!Itwas trulyaneveningfilledwiththebestof fashionandculturerolledintoone beautifulperformance.
Notonlydidthiseventcelebratemilestonesin thefashioncommunity,butitalsopaid homagetotheOlympiceventsbeingheldin Francethissummer,andhowtheseevents bringtheworldtogether.

Itwasastar-studdednightbothintheaudienceandontherunway.Therewere manyjaw-droppingmomentsthatwillberememberedfordecadestocome,oneof thosebeingwhenMarie-JosePerecclosedtheshowinanensembleinspiredbythe FrenchFlag.Notonlyisshearecord-breakingathletebutshealsowalkedforPaco Rabannein1992followingtheOlympicGames.
THE INSPIRATION BEHIND VOGUE WORLD:
PARIS & THE DECADES CELEBRATED
Theshowkickedoffwithpayingrespecttoallofthehardworkfromtheindustry'stailorsandseamstresses. TheyallopenedtherunwayintheirwhitecoatsandsatinfrontrowVIPseatingtotheeventthatwouldn’t bepossiblewithoutthem.
Thefirstdecadethatwasfeaturedwasthe1920sandthiswaspairedwiththesportofcycling.Thissegmentoftheshowwas inspiredbyCocoChanel,JeanneLanvinwhofoundedthehousein1899,andFrenchfictionalstories.Theoutfitsfromthe charactersinthesehistorictales,influencedtheattirewornbytheFrenchcyclistsintheshow,andalso,three1924dresses thathadappearedinVoguemagazinebackinthedaywerere-createdover100yearslaterforthisevent.
Nextcamethe1930swhichwaspairedwiththesportofTrack&field.Thepartnershipofthisdecadeandsportwas influencedbythe“CoursedesCafes”whichisarunthatishadineverycityinFrancesinethe20thcentury.Eachcafébrings onewaiterwithafilledtray,andthewaiters/waitressescompetebyspeedwalkinginthestreets.
The1940ssectionoftheshowwasinspiredbythesouthofFrance.ThestripeswereusedtoemulatetheFrenchbeach housesanditwasalsothe10thanniversaryofacollectionfromJacquemuscalled“LesParasolsdeMarseille”whichis whythedesignerrecreatedsomanypiecesfortheevent.Anotherfunfacttheinfluencedthisdecadewasthatthebikini wasinventedin1946bytwodesignersnamedJacquesHeimandLouisReard.
The1950sdecadewasrepresentedbyEquestriansport.Thesuit,hadinfact,enteredfemalewardrobesthrough equestriansportssincetheuniformswereinspiredbymen’stailoring.Otherhighlightsduringthissegmentwere recreatedChristianDiorlooksandupcycledflagsmadefromvintagescarvesbyMarineSerre.
Forthe60’sdecade,VoguedecidedtofocusonSpaceAgefashionwhichwaspopularizedmainlybythree designers:PierreCardin,PacoRabanne,andAndreCourrèges.Theoutfitsrepresentedthesportoffencingby infusingfuturisticmetalliccolorandmetalembellishments.
Thedecadeofthe1970swasshowcasedthroughthesportofgymnasticsandwasalsoanodtothebattleof VersaillesandStudio54.Givenchyopenedthisdecadebecauseitwasoneofthelaststandinghousesthatshowed atVersailles.Thelookswereaversionofcouturegymnasticsuitswithbigcapesandboldcolor.
ThisportionoftheshowwasrepresentedbytheiconicYSLpowersuitwhichcharacterizedmostof80sfashion. Thepowerstructureoftheshoulderalsorelatestomartialarts,becauseitrepresentsstrengthandismadeto impress.TherewasalsoalinktothearrivalofJapanesedesigners'arrivalinParisduringthisdecade.
FootballisthemostbelovedsportinFranceandalsoaroundtheworld.Itmakessensethatforthe1990sdecade, theteamatVoguewantedtopayhomagetothesport.Afterall,Francedidwintheworldcupin1989whichis alsosaidthebethe“truebeginningofthe1990s.”
ThesportofTennisislinkedwiththe2000sbecauseoftheriseofsomeofthemosticonicfemalestarsofTennis, ofcourseincludingtheWilliamssisterswhomodeledduringtheevent.LouisVuittonwasoneofthefeatured designersforthissegmentandwascharacterizedbyelevatedathleticwearandpunchycolorations.
Thefinaldecadefeaturedintheshowwasthe2010swhichwasrepresentedbythesportofbreakdancing.Thisis moreofanew-agesportthatstartedonthestreetbuthasnowbecomearespectedart.Thiserawasrepresented bydigitalprintsandmetalliccolorationanddesignersshownincludedLouisVuitton,Loewe,andoff-white.
Overall,theeventwasveryunderstandableandtrulymagnificent.Therepresentationof sportandfashionwassometiculouslythoughtthroughandexecutedperfectly.Wecan't waittoseewhereVogueWorld2025willtakeus!
