When you’re a student at Black Hawk College, you are part of a family. Small class sizes and available instructors allow you to easily make connections. The college operates within Illinois Community College District #503, which encompasses 2,200 square miles with more than 225,000 residents. The U.S. Department of Labor shows health care occupations will add more jobs than any other group of occupations by 2024. Black Hawk College grads are in demand – area health care facilities contact us when they have positions to fill. Whether your interest is in an eight-week course to quickly prepare for employment or in a two-year degree program, there is a program to meet your needs. A few health care programs include Nursing Assistant (CNA), Practical Nursing (LPN), Associate Degree Nursing (RN), EMS-Paramedic, Physical Therapist Assistant and Surgical Technology. Opportunities for students completing a health sciences career program are limitless: you can be employed in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, physicians’ or dentists’ offices, or a number of community agencies.
