How to apply

Financial Aid

Financial aid consists of scholarships, grants, loans and/or part-time employment, depending upon student need. To be considered for financial aid, submit your 2019-20 FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov. Apply as soon as possible to avoid delays as processing takes 1-2 weeks. Students will receive an email if documents are needed. Documents can be downloaded on myBlackHawk. Contact the Financial Aid Office at 309-796-5400 at the Quad-Cities Campus or 309-854-1708 at the East Campus. Financial aid eligibility is calculated on the 10th day of the semester. Courses added after the 10th day will not be eligible for financial aid. If a student completely withdraws during the semester after federal financial aid payment has been made, the student maybe required to return a portion of the federal financial aid awarded. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.

How to use your financial aid in the BHC bookstores Students may use their financial aid funds in either campus bookstore to purchase textbooks, school supplies, clothing, computers, meal vouchers (East Campus only), parking permits, etc. Bookstores have access to student funds for the fall and spring semesters beginning one week before classes start through the second week of classes. In order to use funds in the bookstores, students must provide their BHC student ID card OR their student ID number along with a photo ID.
