Brawny, Charming Scotland

Let’s go to Scotland! Scotland is brawny and brave, a rugged country with swooping uplands and velvet valleys dotted by white cottages and hairy cows; a land of contrasts — the roaring Atlantic crashing on the rocky shore, and sheltered lochs as still as swans; charming stone villages lost in time, elegant Edinburgh and lusty Glasgow. History shouts from these hills — you can almost hear the Highland drums and the clash of steel. We’ll visit places like the Western Highlands and the isles of the Inner Hebrides, and the Outer Hebrides. Whether you are simply interested in Scotland or planning a trip, this is the class for you. We’ll cover all you need to make your time in Scotland — whether it’s just a week or much longer — a joy to remember!

The Experience of Egypt

Egypt is arguably the most fascinating ancient culture in the world, and certainly the longest. Let’s visit this incredible land in the comfort of a Black Hawk classroom. We’ll cover traveling there, whether on your own or on a tour, the major archeological sites, the 3,100-year history of ancient Egypt and the other-world wonder of Egypt today, cruising the Nile, the lodgings and food, the do’s and don’ts — all you need to make your experience of Egypt special, if you’re planning a trip, or something to dream about if it’s on your bucket list. The instructor is a published scholar and long-time lecturer in Egyptology.
