3. Built Form Point Terrace Perimeter Block Row

Built form & heights Most of the built form closest to the railway are 4-7 storey perimeter blocks with an internal private open space, possibly to create a more enclosed environment for the inhabitants to keep out the noise from the railway station. Generally the urban fabric is not too dense. Some perimeter formations still have gaps in between for potential future new builds. The remaining built form tend to be row or point typologies. The steeper the topography, the more smaller the built forms tend to be.

4. Diffused and Enclosed

Most of the built form typologies are more enclosed where the area is very densed with residential and commercial buildings. Few examples of areas or streets that are enclosed or diffused. One of the good examples of a diffused open space is the main entrance to the Budapest - Deli Railway station where the area is pedestrianised which has a outdoor eatery/ cafe and shops (under the road).

TRACK ON TRACK

KEY ISSUES

Vehicular Segregation • Poor vehicular connectivity(red dashed) • High Congestion during peak hours • Safety Concerns for pedestrians

Disused Railway Compound • 2 large zones(red) for railways • Mostly unused • Potential areas for regeneration

Topographical Challenges • Highly irregular topography • Flat level on railway area • Confusing layout at the station
