A Sea King helicopter that was forced to make an emergency landing at a local First Nations community has returned to its base at the Victoria International Airport. At around 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 Cen-
tral Saanich Police responded to a call about a Sea King helicopter that went down on Cordova Spit at the Tsawout First Nation. Police called the incident at the time an unplanned emergency landing. Four passengers were onboard. None were injured. PleaSe See: Cause of forced landing, page 3

The Peninsula News Review and Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula (CACSP) are giving away four prize packs this week, in advance of the sixth annual ArtSea Festival, which runs Oct. 16 to 25. The Gala event is a benefit concert for the CACSP Arts in the Schools program. The evening will feature student performers from School District 63 (Saanich), who are donating their time and talent for the event.
