From commercial lots to the fields of Oak Canyon Ranch, Born Free has been snowballing at an insane rate. For a show that is only 5 years old, it has surpassed many expectations. As many of us sat in our boxes inching our way through the canyon, hundreds and hundreds of lane splitters roared by. This was our first indication of just how huge this year’s Born Free would be. So, what’s the big draw, why do so many set their sights on Born Free? There are many elements that contribute the overall vibe of this epic event. If a chance to win a custom built motorcycle wasn’t enticing enough there’s also the people, the vendors and of course the motorcycles. Need I say, there was tons of motorcycles to admire. There were so many, focusing on them all was no easy task. People watching was a great way to distract the mind, although this presented its on set of who, why and wow! Despite it all, for a show of this size, it still has a small show feel. Even amongst the 1,000’s of faces, you were bound to find a few old friends or even make a few new ones. Together, under the California warmth these elements brew together to create the goodness that is Born Free. Walking through the grounds it was easy to see why we came. The event is as chill as it comes, throw a cold beer in the mix and you’ve just enhanced the vibes. Wether you ride a bobber, chopper, bagger, cafe or whatever style of motorcycle is trending at the moment I suggest you ride your ass down and experience Born Free before it’s just another page in history.
