Blackwell Partners with Ingram DigitalSM to Distribute e-Books to the Academic Library Community
Blackwell is delighted to announce it has been awarded the tender to supply Higher Education libraries throughout England. As one of the preferred suppliers, Blackwell will supply English language books, standing orders, eBooks, out of print and audio-visual materials to colleges and universities in the tender worth up to £35m per annum. Houtschild, the Dutch based bookseller who are part of the Blackwell Group, is also one of the preferred suppliers for European language material. Blackwell is in a unique position to deliver the complete book supply solution following the integration of its library supply and retail channels. Its expertise in both areas of the business will enable Blackwell to provide the very best service to the academic community.
An agreement has recently been announced between Blackwell and Ingram Digital, giving Blackwell e-book distribution rights to libraries around the world via Ingram’s MyiLibrary® platform, with the exception of the United Kingdom and Canada. The agreement will allow Blackwell Digital Services customers to discover and order MyiLibrary e-books via Collection Manager, the Blackwell interface. MyiLibrary is a sophisticated platform of aggregated e-book content from the world’s leading commercial publishers. It currently hosts over 185,000 e-books and is used by hundreds of academic, public and professional libraries around the world.
Our team of representatives will be available throughout the duration of the conference at Stand 818 to guide you through our new version of Collection Manager and demonstrate the innovative tools it provides for identifying and acquiring e-and-print books. Collection Manager, Blackwell’s free online library management and bibliographic database has been developed in collaboration with academic librarians around the world. The latest release of Collection Manager succeeds in streamlining workflows and providing powerful data management, searching and sharing capabilities.
