SITE SAFETY Blackwoods offers an extensive range of Site Safety products and services to provide our customers with the right safety solutions for their workplace. These can be categorised into the below 4 major areas of site safety. TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT This section contains traffic and pedestrian management products for both internal and external workplaces to assist in directing traffic, and ensuring safe separation of vehicle, equipment and people. PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATION Blackwoods long-standing support of the Fred Hollows Indigenous Australia Program has been bolstered by donations generated via sales of the Prosafe Safety range of eye and face protection products. 10% of sales of these products are donated to The Foundation. So far, Blackwoods donations directed toward improving Indigenous health exceed $1,400,000, including over $670,000 in FY19 alone. Many customers are delighted to learn that not only are they receiving quality safety equipment tested to comply with Australian standards, but a portion of their purchase is directly assisting The Foundation with their work within the Indigenous community.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults are three times more likely to go blind than nonIndigenous Australians, yet 94% of their vision loss is preventable or treatable. The Fred Hollows Foundation works to put an end to these alarming figures by focusing on education, screening and treatment. The Foundation’s Indigenous Australia Program supports increased investment in an access to culturally appropriate eye care services for remote and under-serviced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

THE FOUNDATION IS WORKING HARD TO ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING: 1. Deliver surgery and medical treatment for cataract, diabetic retinopathy and the elimination of trachoma. 2. Increase access to services for patients in remote communities. 3. Coordinate and improve outreach services so everyone who needs medical care gets it. 4. Provide training and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health staff.

Wesfarmers, our parent company, produced its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2009 and will release our eighth RAP (ELEVATE) in 2019, setting out what our businesses will do to drive towards our goal of a workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities in which we operate.
