B-Zen Coating
ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING AGAINST BLUE LIGHT, ANTI-STATIC WATER REPELLENT AND REINFORCED ANTI-SCRATCH.
The B-Zen coating was designed for people exposed to blue light through LED lighting and screens. This antireflective, water repellent, anti-static, anti-scratch coating filters about 20% of undesirable blue light. It is very scratch resistant and easy to clean. B-Zen’s antistatic properties also improve clarity and reduce dust deposits on the lens surface, making it easier to clean.
Platinum Coating
ANTI-FOG AND ANTI-SCRATCH COATING.
Contrary to other anti-fog coatings, the Platinum® coating gives permanent fog resistance on both sides and limits the condensation effect. It maintains its properties even after repeated cleaning.
Anti-Reflective Coating
ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING, WATER REPELLENT, ANTI-STATIC AND REINFORCED ANTI-SCRATCH.
Lenses without anti-reflective coating result in a reduction of light transmission of 10 to 15%, thereby penalising visual quality. Anti-reflective coated lenses are perfectly transparent and transmit 99% of light.
The anti-reflective coating improves clearness and contrast giving a more precise image. Anti-reflective coating also strengthens scratch resistance. Combined with an anti-static coating, it prevents dust from sticking to the lens and also has a water-repellent property to prevent water from staying on the lens.

Polycarbonate Lens Material
Thinner and lighter than plastic, polycarbonate (impactresistant) lenses are shatter-proof and provide 100% UV protection.
Trivex Lens Material
Similar to polycarbonate, Trivex lenses are thin, lightweight, impact-resistant, and provide 100% UV protection. However, Trivex lenses offer sharper central and peripheral vision than polycarbonate lenses and are more resistant to chemicals.

Q. Why should a company provide Safety Prescription Eyewear?
A. Employers have a duty of care under the OHS Act, to take responsible steps to ensure the health & safety of all employees.
Q. How important is a certified prescription safety eyewear product?
A OHS demand certified products as the OHS Legislation states they must be manufactured to current Australian Standards.
Q. How do I know my prescription safety eyewear product is to Australian Standards?
A. Spectacles will be supplied with certified frame & lens markings and a Certificate.
Q. When will an Optician be onsite to perform fittings?
A. Blackwoods chosen partner will arrange with the OHS/Site Manager, to be onsite at the most suitable time for employees.
Q. Do you perform onsite Eye Testing?
A. We are unable to test onsite as bulk billing is not available.
Q. Do computer screens cause eye damage?
A. No, there is no evidence of computer screens causing eye damage, but with correct coating lenses can significantly Reduce glare.
Q. My current glasses fog, can this be stopped?
A. We have a unique non-alcohol Antifog material that works in a multitude of environments.

A. AAS has over 350 partner stores nationally who are able to provide a superior service for employees and more are being added to ensure adequate coverage.
Q. Does the Optometrist store have the Frames to try on?
A. The Optometrist stores listed in the Blackwoods Online Portal have the current safety frame range in store for employees to try on and select their ideal frame based on work duties, facial size and comfort.
Q. How much does it cost to perform an onsite fitting visit?
A. No charge for metro and a minimum of 8-10 people for regional areas for more than 3hrs return.
Q. Where do I collect my completed work glasses from?
A. The Optometrist store will ring the Employee when the completed spectacles are ready to collect from their store.
Q. How do I login to the online service portal?
A. Contact your Blackwoods representative who will arrange to get you a login through AAS.
