Birdies in a Nest

Supplies: A paper plate Blue Tissue paper (or the color of your choice for your birdies) Brown and tan pipe cleaners (2 -3 of each) Six Small googly eyes Three small pieces of orange construction paper for the beaks

Parents, you will need to do the following cutting to prepare the craft for younger children: Cut the paper plate in half. One half will be the nest and you will use the other half to cut out three egg shapes to make the birds. Cut the brown and tan pipe cleaners in twoinch pieces.

Your child can tear up the tissue paper and then glue the egg shapes to the paper plate and the tissue, googly eyes, and orange construction paper for the beaks to those shapes. Children can then glue the pipe cleaner pieces below the egg-shaped birds to make the nest.

Create a Spring Flower Garden

Supplies: Six to nine cupcake liners in various colors Three plastic buttons in colors of your choice Three popsicle sticks Three green pipe cleaners One sheet of construction paper

Parents, you will need to cut each pipe cleaner in half. Your children can then glue three of the cupcake liners to the construction paper in a row to start the flowers and then stack and glue in additional liners to give the flowers layers.

Your child can glue the buttons in the middle of the stacked liners and then glue the popsicle sticks underneath the cupcake liners to make the stems. Help your child fold the pipe cleaners into leaf shapes to glue beside the popsicle stems, and then you have a beautiful flower garden for spring!
