When first being introduced to a new art program, I was not sure on how I was going to progress. The pieces that I created resembled the sense of being able to progress, not only in art but in life as well. When I created my pieces, I was determined to show myself. I had a goal of showing the ways that I dealt with different hardships in life. I wanted to be able to grow as a person with my art as I created my own story and ponder upon what situations may have had the greatest impact on my life. With my pieces I made all my decisions based on my theme of moving on. When I was getting ready to create a new piece I’d try to relate it to moving on. I used mostly acrylic paint and clay. I tried incorporating clay in at least two studios because I’ve found the image of it fascinating and the way it creates a sort of texture and contrast within the piece. Other than clay, I did have to experiment with other medias such as pencil. With that, I was able to progress with my art abilities and discover what it was that I could and could not do that well.
