The word “franchise does not always have an attractive connotation. For me, it brings to mind money and greasy french fries.

Being Frank

Frank DeJulio just completed his Off-Broadway debut in the new play “Unnatural Acts.” He sits down with BLEEP to talk about life as an actor in New York, chicken soup and the joy of watching a grown man cry.

When we were going through Veronika Placek’s photos on her blog, ticktockvintage.blogspot.com, we had a hard time picking. That’s because every photo from this Philadelphia third grade teacher is so effortlessly beautiful. Blogging about personal style, vintage clothing, and Philly, Veronika’s blog will inspire and entertain you. That’s why we she’s a BLOGGER WE LOVE.

What work have you done that you're most proud of? What excites me about working in New York is the chance to develop a new play from the ground up. So, at the moment, I'm proud to rehearse the New York premiere of Miranda Huba's ”Hospital City” (at the St. Mark's Church-in-the Bowery October 6th-15th) For tickets, hit up Ovationtix.

What work have you done that you're most proud of? When I feel I am fully committed to the scene & can lose myself in the moment.

What work have you done that you're most proud of? This summer, I was cast in the lead female dance role in a musical for the Princeton Festival of Music and I was terrified to start rehearsals because dancing is not my strong suit by any means, but I buckled down practiced and pulled the moves off in the end. Looking back, I’m proud of the experience because now I know for sure that when I can’t rely on instinct for a role, I can rely on discipline.

What is your dream? Hmmm...just the one? To have a lengthy career that offers plenty of excuses to travel. What defines your style? The rainbow rule: if the entire color-wheel is represented in my wardrobe, nothing 'doesn't match!'

What is your dream? My dream would be to continue acting and to always have a venue in which to sing. For my college thesis I researched the effect of performing arts as a rehabilitation method for exoffenders. The tools one learns in any acting class are, I think, imperative to navigating life. So I would love to work with an organization that provides drama studies and performance opportunities to inmates, and people coming out of prison. What defines your style? I almost always go for classic feminine looks.

What is your dream? To climb Mr. Kilimanjaro before the snow melts. What defines your style? Color and feel.

MUSIC CITY

Stump Being relatively new to Nashville hasn’t stopped Adley from paving the way to her rock star dreams.

Chris Corporate by day, rocker by night Chris Small makes time for his passion for music. Check out what he has to say about the balancing act that is his life.

“Each sont is like a liuule creative baby I've birthed. Unfortunately some babies are vtlier uhan ouhers.

Jeffrey This singer-songwriter released his EP, “The Worktape Sessions, and has set his sights even higher.

“Flo Rida. I have NO clue how he ended up in my music collection, but when he popped up on my iPod one day, it surprised even me.

Russell Growing up in Nashville has taken Russell from the playground to the mainstage. His new EP on iTunes, “Die to Live Again,” released in January and that’s only the start.

Even while in school David has been releasing music for years. Now, he heads toward bigger stages.

Stimson He wrote his first song at 14 and digs the Beatles. With an album on the way, the guy who plays seven instruments lets us in on how he got started and where’s he’s headed.

Sometimes I just lie awake at night and goofy stories and things pop into my head and they end up making song lyrics and music.

Yeah…he’s still excited about it.

NEW YORK A love letter by Ryan Brinson

IN THE FALL

I hear nothing. Not even a sound on the streets of New York, just the beating of my own heart. -You’ve Got Mail

Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. -You’ve Got Mail

Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one! It got on at 42nd and off at 59th, where, I assume, it was going to Bloomingdales to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake, as almost all hats are -You’ve Got Mail
