Be prepared, fire victims warn

By Kristy Martin A Riverlands family who went through two fires last year and lost thousands of dollars worth of property are now warning others to be prepared.

With Marlborough experiencing a cold snap and winter fast approaching, the Boyce family are urging people to have a fire plan.

“We’ve lived through a lot – floods, earthquakes – but fire is worse,” said mum Kim Boyce.

“Fire is dangerous.

“Fire is real fast.

“We now have smoke alarms in every room and I keep my important possessions, like my handbag and car keys, accessible.”

The fire broke out in a neighbour’s shed in the middle of the night and quickly spread over the fence, destroying everything inside the Boyces’ garage, including bikes, scooters, chainsaws, two freezers full of meat, power tools and camping equipment.

Twelve of their chickens, and a pet parakeet, also perished.

Kim and husband Rob tried to salvage their property, dragging three motorbikes, two pushbikes and four fuel cans from the shed while the heat closed in, before a neighbour pulled them away.

Three boats and a camper van were all set alight at about 3am on the morning of Sunday, March 9.

Blenheim Volunteer Fire Brigade chief fire offier Rob Dalton urged people to check smoke alarm batteries and to ensure the devices were installed in each bedroom, hallway and kitchen/ lounge area.

He also advised people to clean their chimneys and always use dry wood when building a fire.

Electric blankets should be tested before use each year, Mr Dalton said, and this could be done at electrical retailers.

“Thank god for the firefighters.

“They don’t get enough credit for the work they do.”

One of the fires also left the side of a house scorched.

All four fires were set in the same area of Picton, around Waikawa Road.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in that area at the time of the fires, or anyone who may have relevant information.

Thief charged, luggage not found Sun The

By Kristy Martin A Blenheim woman whose luggage was stolen on the Interislander ferry says police did a great job tracking the offender to Dunedin and arresting him.

Karen Magee and grandson Luke were aboard the Arahura travelling from Wellington to Picton on November 5 last year when their bags were removed from the tray of their ute after staff failed to secure the passenger vehicle deck.

In the stolen suitcase and duffel bag were Karen’s clothing, jewellery, makeup, passport and other documents, and Luke’s clothing, PlayStation portable and irreplaceable photographs of his deceased father.

Sergeant Kris Payne of Picton police said an 18-year-old Dunedin man, identified on CCTV, pleaded guilty to the theft and was due to be sentenced this week.

“It was a job well done by the police,” Ms Magee said.

“Both Picton and Dunedin police were fantastic – I couldn’t fault them.

“They were brilliant with Luke and brilliant with me.

“They kept checking back in to let me know where they were at.”

But while it was a relief for Ms Magee that an arrest was made, it didn’t replace any of the items she or her grandson lost.

Three injured The rescue helicopter transported one of three seriously-injured people to Wellington Hospital following a crash at Spring Creek yesterday.

At 12.25am, Blenheim Police, fire brigade and St John attended a single vehicle crash on Rapaura Rd, near the Spring Creek Motor Camp.

The vehicle left the road and crashed into trees.

The three occupants of the vehicle all sustained serious injuries, with one flown to Wellington.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the serious crash investigator.

Karen Magee says police did a great job of catching the thief who stole her luggage on the Interislander ferry, as reported in the Sun last November (inset).

KiwiRail, who operates the Interislander ferries, has admitted staff failed to secure the vehicle deck on that occasion and said the matter was being investigated.

But they have not offered any support to Ms Magee, or an apology like she was hoping for.

“I still haven’t heard anything from Interislander,” she said.

Royal makeover Preparations for the Royal visit are in full swing, and even the Marlborough District Council building is getting attended to.

The building is being pressure washed, with the routine maintenance pushed forward to March, from April, for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's visit.

The change in timing also allows the building to be ready for ANZAC Day. The maintenance is expected to take around two weeks depending on the weather.

William and Kate arrive in Blenheim on April 10, attending a wreath-laying ceremony before going on a tour of Omaka Heritage Centre with Peter Jackson.

Nothing was found by police when they searched the offender’s home.

“I’d say they ditched everything pretty much immediately,” Ms Magee said.

“It’s a bit of a nightmare losing all your stuff.

“I’m lucky I had insurance but the insurance company only paid less than half of what the stuff was worth.”

Scooter rider hit A teenage motorised scooter rider who was struck by a car on Monday afternoon suffered moderate head and arm injuries.

The 16-year-old girl was yesterday in a stable condition in Wairau Hospital, where she was taken following the incident on Maxwell Road in Blenheim.

The teen was treated by St John paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

Over the weekend, a building in Park Terrace and a property in Maxwell Road were targeted by taggers.

Anyone who sees or knows of people tagging should contact Blenheim Police or Crime Stoppers.

Police have begun an aerial search for a missing Erie Bay man who set out on his boat in the Marlborough Sounds last Saturday and hasn’t been seen since.

William Kerry Blair, known as Kerry, gave no indication of his intentions before leaving on a 9-metre launch about 4pm on Saturday and searching for him was like a needle in a haystack, police said.

On Sunday the Harbourmaster searched Queen Charlotte Sound and regular broadcasts were made over the marine radio to all vessels to look out for the boat.

On Monday, the Nelson Coastguard searched Tasman Bay to the top of Farewell Spit, while yesterday the Nelson boat searched the Abel Tasman coastline from Awaroa back to Nelson.

Aerial searches also kicked off yesterday.

Overnight on Friday, a house in Manson Street was entered and a iPod was taken.

The offender appears to have reached through an open window and taken the iPod from a docking station.

Weekend damage A vehicle parked in Scott Street had all four tyres slashed overnight on Friday, while on Saturday a letterbox on Wither Road was damaged.

Missing boat, the Erie was last seen in the Sounds on Saturday.

A female flatmate who works at the same Erie Bay property as the missing 55-yearold alerted police to his disappearance about midday on Sunday.

Police said the behaviour was out of character for Mr Blair, an experienced seaman.

Weather conditons had also been good.

The last know possible sighting of the vessel, called Erie, was near Cape Jackson

about 5.30pm on Saturday.

Since that time Mr Blair’s cell phone has also polled off the top of the South Island on the West Coast side late on Sunday afternoon.

No signal has been picked up since.

The vessel is equipped with navigation equipment and a radio, but Mr Blair has made no attempt to use either the radio or his cell phone.

The missing aluminium boat has a hard top which is painted white and it has a blue stripe along the side.

It has an inboard diesel engine and is capable of travelling long distances, depending on the amount of fuel onboard.

Marlborough addressing Chinese tourist rise

By Adam Poulopoulos Collaborating with Marlborough businesses and Christchurch Airport are two ways the region is looking to harness the growing Chinese tourist market.

Last week a hotels.com offical suggested Marlborough’s lack of Chinese tourists may be responsible for a drop in hotel prices in 2013.

China are the tourists who generally spend most on accommodation, and Blenheim’s average room price dropped from $172 to $165 last year.

China is New Zealand’s second-largest tourist market behind Australia.

Destination Marlborough general manager Tracy Johnston said Tourism New

Zealand’s efforts had seen Chinese tourism evolve in the last two years.

She said formerly, tourists had an average stay of four days, but they were more regularly visiting the South Island, and outside of the main centres now.

“It’s just getting to that point on the radar where we can see Chinese spend in Marlborough.”

Efforts were being made to teach local operators about the differences between the two cultures, and how best to respond to their needs.

She said the viticulture market was also looking to diversify as the Chinese began to buy more wine than ever before.

“I’m aware the wine companies are

bringing Chinese delegations to town as they start to explore that market.

“That’s another way they can gain awareness.”

Outside the region, Destination Marlborough has joined with Christchurch Airport on their ‘South’ initiative.

The campaign focuses on ‘becoming China ready,’ hosting workshops and looking to add flights between Asia and Christchurch to increase traffic to the South Island.

“It’s too new a market to be talking about just in Marlborough,” Ms Johnston said.

“It’s a big picture view, but its exciting to be in collaboration with them.”

Dolce pizzeria up for sale

By Adam Poulopoulos Dolce pizzeria looks set to change in the near future.

The second-storey High Street cafe and bar was put up for sale yesterday by owner Sue Parish.

The deadline for the sale is unknown, but if there are no buyers the property will remain in Mrs Parish’s possession.

Harcourts Blenheim are dealing with the sale.

Sue bought the site when it was still called Paysannes in July 2008.

After a two-month revamp, the restaurant reopened as Dolce.

“I wanted the name to have both a Kiwi and Italian meaning,” Sue said.

“Dolce means sweet in Italian, and every Kiwi says ‘sweet’ don’t they?”

She said the cafe had seen its fair share of ups and downs.

“I opened when the recession hit, so it was a tough three years, but its been pretty good since then.

“We have good regular customers who come in every day and we’ve had 21sts, 50ths and four weddings.”

Mrs Parish has spent the last nine years in hospitality management positions.

She hoped to spend more time with her four young kids, all six years old or younger.

Trust pushing on with theatre funding plans

By Adam Poulopoulos The Marlborough Civic Theatre Trust may have just received a substantial grant, but they have no plans of stopping their fundraising just yet.

The trust received $500,000 from the Successful Lottery Significant Projects Fund, which will be put towards Blenheim’s new ASB Civic Theatre.

Trust chairman Kevin Moseley said the grant was a “whole heap of money.”

“We’re really thrilled because every grant we get like that is less we have to raise out of the community.

“Money like this allows for a better result and less stress for the fundraising team.”

He said he hoped the funding would not stop there.

“The door’s not shut on Government funding - we’re pursuing other avenues.

“We’ll continue working hard until the building is finished and debt-free.”

More specifics will be known after

meeting with Cabinet Ministers and Department of Internal Affairs representatives in just over a week.

The Trust originally applied for the grant ten years ago when the fund, for the construction and refurbishment of new theatres, was brought in by Helen Clark’s Labour Government.

When John Key’s Government did away with the fund, the application was scrapped, but after it was reinstated in July last year the application was remade.

Mr Moseley said his team worked hard on the application.

“It’s one of those things where the stack of paperwork is about seven inches high and includes every question you could imagine.”

The Hon Peter Dunne announced the successful grant recipients last week.

The $500,000 received by the Trust was part of $28 million given to different projects across the country.

The 700-seat theatre is due to open in the first half of next year.

“It’s not going to be a flash weekend by any means.

“The whole country’s going to be in the path of some wet and windy

He said the weather was likely to strike the North Island before hitting Marlborough.

“Think of it as a boomerang of weather. The first edge looks set to sweep down the country, especially

hitting those open areas on the northern and eastern coasts.

“The timing may adjust but the leading edge will probably come down the Marlborough region and probably halfway down the South Island.”

Mr Corbett said he expected about 20-40 millimetres of rain to fall.

The storm was due to become a category 3 storm overnight, Mr Corbett said New Zealand’s cooler waters would reduce its intensity before hitting us.

Chickens Martina and Morgana, and rooster Dave, have been entertaining kids and teachers alike since the start of term four last year.

The students have helped to incubate the eggs, build the coop and look after the chickens as part of the school’s

focus on environmental awareness and self-sufficiency.

Teacher Mel Hewer said the students came up with the idea.

In class we wanted a way of getting rid of our lunch rubbish, so we figured chickens would help by eating the food scraps.”

She said the leftover eggs also helped to cook meals with the ingredients from the school’s edible garden.”

Source of worldly trouble Dear Ed, I agree with Michael and his comments on Bible in Schools.

The Bible has stood the test of time and will for as long as the world exists.

The real problem is not people protesting against human rights laws and therefore a dislike to the Bible in Schools programme but a total disregard towards God who without His being they would not exist.

Alarm a human rights issue Dear Ed, The person/s recently complaining of the Seddon emergency services siren disturbing their offsprings sleep/ rest is a human rights issue.

I myself live quite a distance from the fire station siren, so it does not bother me too much.

Due to the siren I would not live anywhere near the fire station.

The problems lie in the facts that: 1. The 100kmh speed limit is too high for what would be classed as broads in most other western countries.

An 80kmh speed limit throughout nz would greatly reduce emergency callouts.

Surely its better to arrive at your

destination later rather than not at all.

2. Driving whilst tired is also an issue, most people cant afford, or wont pay for a two hour or so rest/sleep at a motel etc.

Free short stay/sleep centres at community halls etc could be the answer.

Now that the ferry service is staying in Picton and if Seddon is going to experience more than average emergency call outs in the future then the government should class Seddon as an ‘emergency call out centre’ and due to incessant unexpected siren noise pay out the g.v. to homeowners who wish to leave the township.

The contractors are busy I noted and smiling too - all the way to the bank.

Last year the contractors did the same thing.

The first good autumn-winter flood filled it in with shingle. The same will happen this year. So why do it?

I noted rates are set to rise again.

Blenheim rates are the same as for Christchurch’s well-to-do Merivale suburb.

I wonder if councillors understand needless expenditure relates to rate rises.

Who authorises these futile projects?

Council? Staff? Or perhaps the tail is wagging the dog?

Whatever, the contractors are smiling.

Bird blasters unnecessary Dear Ed, So the Council condones vintners using bird scarers, aka pet-frighteners, baby-startlers and peace-wreckers. Thirteen hours a day, seven days a week of noise pollution is imposed on neighbours.

Considerate vintners use nets to protect their grapes; these are efficient, and show respect for neighbours who have a right to peace.

Let’s identify the greedy and selfish vintners and boycott their wines.

If we support the produce of the net-users, perhaps the bird-blasters will get the message.

Sprinting Tiger, Winning Tara A local harness racing icon has just seen his “once in a lifetime” racehorse run to a derby victory in Auckland. He talks to Adam Poulopoulos about the journey.

Nearly two years ago, Blenheim man John Gould and Christchurch trainer Geoff Dunn made a successful offer for a hitherto unknown black yearling named Tiger Tara.

Now, the three-year-old colt has just clocked the fastest ever time at Auckland’s Alexandra Park, a track established over 100 years ago.

Second favourite and paying $4.40 to win, Tiger Tara stormed home to win the Woodland Stud Northern Derby victory by a neck on Friday night.

His time for the 2700 metre distance - 1 minute, 54.8 seconds, including a phenomenal 54.5 seconds over the second half of the race.

Tiger Tara has started the year with two group one wins, in the Derby and at the NRM Sires Stakes previously.

He has won seven of his eighteen starts in total.

Gould looks back with fondness at the day he made the offer for the horse which has netted him and the other owners nearly $250,000 already in 2014.

“We didn’t pay huge money for him.

I made him (breeder R. P. Anicich) an offer that at the time was very lucrative, but after two races it looks like an absolute bargain.

“He’s the best horse I’ve had in my 38 years owning them.”

Gould said his colt’s record-breaking feat came even though he was “only at 90 per cent” on the night of the race.

He said Tiger Tara was likely to reach his peak in the next couple of years.

“The best of him hasn’t been seen yet. I’ll never buy one better than this fellow!”

“He is arguably the best colt in New Zealand.”

Although Tiger Tara’s speed and athleticism has been coming to the fore, Gould believes there is far more to him than that.

“He’s got that will to win. He knows where the winning post is.

“On the track he gets very excited and he just wants to be there.

“At the moment he’s winning sprint races, but I think over time he’ll become a great stayer.”

Gould is quick to point out the significance of Christchurch-based trainer Dunn’s role in his horse’s success.

In fact, several years ago, Tiger Tara’s co-owners Bob and Jen Sandford bought his brother, Turbo Tara, on Dunn’s advice.

Turbo Tara looked set for a successful career, only to die on the track during a race at Methven.

Nevertheless, Gould was happy to trust Dunn’s judgement and buy Tiger Tara blind, the only time he has bought a horse without looking it in the eye.

Tiger Tara’s next scheduled races are the New Zealand Derby, at Addington, and the Harness Jewels, in Cambridge.

He has assumed early favouritism for both.

Gould said the owners have big plans for Tiger Tara heading into 2015.

“Next year he’ll hopefully be in the Auckland Cup and the Interdominions.

“Provided he comes good he’ll potentially go on to be a New Zealand Cup horse in the future.”

He said there was no thought of a potentially lucrative sale.

“There have been substantial offers, but Tiger Tara is not for sale.

I’m enjoying the ride while it lasts!”

Cyberbullying is bullying. It’s using the internet, a mobile phone or other technology like new ways of communicating and often use the internet and mobiles phones as the main way a digital camera to hurt somebody, harass or embarrass them.

Our advice for parents follows: If a child tells you they’ve been cyberbullied reassure them that they’ve done the right thing to trust you with the problem.

If the bullying online or on a mobile phone involves physical threats, contact the police. Making threats of harm is criminal behaviour in New Zealand.

Bring in any evidence you have when you meet with the police (messages stored on a phone or print outs of screenshots). If you are worried about your immediate safety contact the Police.

Reassure your child that you will not remove their technology as a knee-jerk reaction to problems (including cyberbullying). Young people tell NetSafe that fear of losing access to their computer or mobile phone is one of the reasons why they often don’t tell adults.

Cyberbullying at school If you think the person bullying your child is at your child’s school, tell the Principal or Deputy Principal as soon as possible.

Cyberbullying on websites Report internet cyberbullying to the website where the bullying took place - usually there is a “Report Abuse” button or “Safety” link.

Cyberbullying on IM / online chat If you can, block the bullying messages coming through.

Take screenshots of any bullying messages sent and save them as evidence.

Cyberbullying and mobile phones If bullying messages are coming through to a mobile, contact your phone company. Report the abuse to the network and ask them to take action. The company should be able to trace the source of the messages and warn the bully that they may lose their number and/ or access to the network if they continue.

The role involves the issue and return of books, processing of new books, shelving and tidying resources, and assisting customers with their enquiries.

As part of the Animal Control team your role will involve dealing with the public investigating complaints about dog nuisances and attacks, and working within the community to ensure dog owners are abiding by the relevant acts and bylaws.

Knowledge and experience in law enforcement and public relations along with a willingness to understand the Dog Control Act, the Impounding Act and Marlborough District Council Dog Control Bylaws would be an ideal background for this position. You would also have the ability to handle and identify dog breeds, be competent with stock handling, have experience in conflict resolution, good computer skills, a clean full drivers licence, hold a firearms licence or have to ability to obtain one and be familiar with the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi. As this service is 24/7 you will be required to be on call on a 3 weekly rotation.

Key to your success would be your passion for work, self-motivation, leadership, self-sufficiency and initiative, practical problem solving capabilities, team player excellent communication skills, with a good level of physical fitness.

Red Cross appeal

Fifty-two children from Blenheim’s Leaps and Bounds Early Learning Centre hopped on their bikes for the fourth annual Pedal for Plunket.

The kids, aged from two-five, rode around a circuit set up on the Horton Park netball courts next door.

The money will go towards car seats, community clothing and parent services.

“They love it, they really look forward to it. They love getting out in the open spaces, bringing their bikes from home, and racing their friends.”

The Centre raised over $700 last year.

MBC rowing success Marlborough Boys College walked away with eight medals from the South Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships over the weekend.

They picked up five gold, a silver and two bronze.

Christchurch Boys High School ws the most successful school, picking up 13 medals.

MBC’s focus now turns to the Maadi Cup regatta, to be held from March 24-29.

Gayle Chambers of New Zealand Red Cross Marlborough is asking people to give generously to the organisation’s annual appeal this Friday.

A fishing day encouraging parents to spend time with their kids is coming to Marlborough this weekend.

The Kids Gone Fishin’ event is being held on Saturday at 10am at the Waikawa Foreshore and Wharf in Picton.

Spot prizes are available, and a sausage sizzle will be ongoing throughout the day.

Organiser Dean Buckley said the event encouraged families to get together.

Kids Gone Fishin’ event

Gayle Chambers wants Marlburians to rest assured that when they donate to the New Zealand Red Cross annual appeal, their money is used to keep valuable services going in the local community.

Things like Meals on Wheels, a community transport van, wheelchair hire service and community visitor service for isolated rest home residents are all Red Cross programmes.

There is also the Disaster Welfare Support Team, who went to the aid of Seddon’s earthquake victims last year and set up an emergency welfare centre at the Seddon School.

“It is a national appeal, so the money raised goes to programmes and disaster relief within New Zealand, but also for help needed overseas,” said Gayle, programmes coordinator.

The fundamental aim of Red Cross is to improve the lives of vulnerable people, so each of its services caters to the ill, elderly, disabled or impoverished members of the community.

The appeal will be held on Friday, with volunteers collecting on the streets from

Sport inbrief Darts Clubs of Marlborough dart player Michael Thoms was the big winner as sixteen players represented the Clubs of Marlborough in Oamaru recently.

Thoms won the 18-25 year old division of the Clubs New Zealand Darts Association South Island Tournament at the end of last month.

Thoms, Steve Campbell and Robert Bradley all threw their first Clubs New Zealand Darts Association 180 at the event.

Over 320 players from around the South Island competed at the event.

Summer Runners The final night of Summer Runners for the season takes place tomorrow.

It is a pack run/walk from 11 Forest Park Drive, beginning at 6pm.

A barbecue and prizegiving will follow directly afterwards.

If you want to go for a swim afterwards, bring your togs.

Volleyball The Fairweathers Senior Summer League continued on Thursday night, with 30 teams now signed up to play across the four divisions.

The Woodbourne Warriors cleanswept their second consecutive opponent in the Presidents’ Grade, beating Block This to take the early favourites’ tag.

All three Marlborough Boys College teams in the President’s grade also won.

In the junior league Grovetown Spikers, in the year 5/6 second division, were awarded the fair play team of the week, earning a platter from sponsors Subway.

Both leagues continue tomorrow and Friday at Stadium 2000.

Absolute Wilderness charge continues

By Adam Poulopoulos Jeremy McKenzie and his Absolute Wilderness team are continuing their push in the GODZone multisport race in Kaikoura, despite a series of misdemeanours yesterday.

McKenzie, Picton’s Dan Moore and Nelsonians Dan Busch and Naomi Whitehead were about fifth at the time of print, having held second position for much of the race, which began on Friday.

The runaway leaders are Team Seagate, made up of adventure racers Nathan Fa’avae, Sophie Hart, Chris Forne and Stuart Lynch.

The team got into the kayaking leg yesterday morning at the Hurunui river in third, but GODZone media manager Margo Berryman said things began to unravel.

“They got about 30 minutes down the river and discovered they’d left their yellow brick tracker in the transition area.

“They lost about an hour going back to get it.”

After returning to third the team lost more time when they discovered a problem with their boat, which needed to be repaired.

Absolute Wilderness are expected to finish the race at some stage either today or tomorrow.

The problems came after Absolute Wilderness impressed officials in the first three days of the race.

Race co-director Warren Bates said they had been “a real surprise team.”

“They’re all what you’d call pretty strong athletes, but they’ve never done anything like this before. They slipped under the radar.”

He said their local knowledge would have helped them during the race.

The gruelling GODZone event is 520 kilo-

metres long and rises about 12000 metres in elevation.

The race includes aspects of navigation, trekking, kayaking, canoeing and mountain biking.

Forty-one teams from around the world entered the race.

Big day for Falcons - youth league final

By Adam Poulopoulos Both NZ King Salmon Nelson Marlborough Falcons present and future will be making an appearance at the region’s biggest footballing day in nearly 40 years.

The Falcons, with Blenheimbased players Taine Swete and Carl Connor-McClean, play their ASB Youth League final against unbeaten Auckland City at Nelson’s Trafalgar Park on Saturday.

A Marlborough development XI play a Nelson youth select team earlier in the day.

The final begins at 1pm, with the curtain-raiser at 10am.

Some development players are likely to trial for a Falcons spot next season.

Entry is by gold coin.

The final marks the first time a team from the Top of the South has made a national final since Nelson United made consecutive Chatham Cup deciders in the 1970s.

Falcons board member Nigel Thompson said the day would be “unique.”

“Football hasn’t had a lot of

cause for celebration around here in recent years.

“It could be 20 years before we have another final in Nelson.”

Thompson said based on round robin figures and last year’s attendance rates, he was expecting a crowd of about 2,000.

He said both teams would look to play passing football.

“Being younger they don’t seem to play with the same inhibitions as older players.”

The Falcons come into the game after two defeats, having won eight

in a row to clinch their finals spot.

Coach Davor Tavich kept much of his first XI in cotton wool to protect them from injury and suspension.

Midfielder Swete said he was confident the team would put their best foot forward on Saturday.

“Although our focus is on each game, in the last two the final was in the back of our mind.

“During the winning streak every match was a highlight, but nothing compares to this.

“This is a big game.”

Benefits of choosing CBTA include: riders receiving positive feedback on their riding skills, tips on how to ride smarter and safer and safe riding habits. When a rider passes the assessment, they need to spend

only 12 months on their restricted licence, and remove all waiting time on their learners. Riders need to have a LAMS approved bike to do the CBTA training and assessments.
