Sky’s the limit By Jacob Page Omaka Classic Fighters saw record crowds on both days as Marlburians and visitors alike basked in aviation glory. Omaka Classic Fighters organising committee chairman Graham Orphan says the three day show ran smoothly. Graham says it was special to have three Spitfire’s on show, the most that had ever been in one place for a show in the Southern Hemisphere since war time. CONTINUED PAGE 2. Aviation pioneer Sir Tim Wallis was reunited with The Mk 4 Spitfire plane (pictured) that almost took his life nearly 20 years ago. Sir Tim crashed the plane in January 1996 while preparing for the Warbirds Over Wanaka Airshow. He wasn't expected to survive.
