All Black banter By Jacob Page It was a dark day yesterday for one Australian at his Blenheim office after his work colleagues sent him a not so subtle message about the weekend’s Rugby World Cup final outcome. Peters Doig director Tim McKendry followed a path of Webb Ellis Trophy pictures to his office yesterday where he found, black streamers and hundreds of black balloons blocking the way to his desk. “I came in on Monday just to check an email and saw nothing, then I come in this morning and it’s like a blackout in here.”

Continued page 2 Aussie Tim McKendry’s office at Peters Doig Accountants was turned into a blackout yesterday following the All Blacks’ 34-17 Rugby World Cup final triumph over Australia on Sunday morning.

Tim takes All Blacks’ ribbing with humour and a silver lining Continued from page 1 Tim admitted the match, won by the All Blacks over the Wallabies 34-27, had been a bit of a lonely experience. “My wife is from Blenheim so she was cheering for the All Blacks and so were the kids, so it was just me.” Tim says he did feel midway through the second half a comeback was on before it was eventually snuffed out. “At 21-17 I thought we might win it, but what can you say?” Tim’s colleagues had spent several hours yesterday blowing up balloons making a streamer-laden doorway for him to walk through.

“You have to admire the effort of this really. “Everyone has been coming in and taking photos.” His colleagues joked that he looked trapped at his desk by the balloons. Several bars around Marlborough opened their doors for the 5am kick-off with breakfast and coffees outselling beer as people rode the emotion of what was a pulsating final. Tim, ever the optimistic, did find a silver lining in all the drama. “Now that the rugby has finished, the cricket begins and we all know who the world champions at that are.” New Zealand plays Australia in the first of three cricket tests, in Brisbane this week.

Ricky gets national photography focus By Jacob Page Blenheim photographer Ricky Wilson announced himself on the national stage with winning New Zealand Geographic young photographer of the year. The award was announced at a gala night in Auckland. The 18-year-old’s 10-image portfolio was described as “compelling” by competition judges but it was one image in particular that stood out. The awards attracted over 5800 entries across nine categories. It was Ricky’s shot of a boy being sprayed with water at the Havelock Muddy Buddy event this year that stood out. Ironically, Ricky told The Sun back in September, the photo was there to just make up the numbers. “I just entered that one to make it up

to 10,” he says. It also won runner-up in the society category which was open to all ages. Ricky graduated from Marlborough Boys’ College last year and was half-way through a business course at the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. A lover of sport photography, Ricky freelances at many events around the region. Film prop now in personal collection

Story and photo by Celeste Lodewyk Marlborough Vintage Farm Machinery Society’s 50th Anniversary was a huge highlight for many, including the likes of Okaramio man and member Peter Hart, who had quite a unique tractor on display. The event was held over Saturday and Sunday at Brayshaw Park. What many might have seen as a Ferguson tractor with tracks made for snow work, Peter’s Ferguson tractor’s story drew a lot of attention from the public. The tractor was a studio prop used in the making of the film ‘Hillary’, and is a very close copy of the original tractors that made the trip from Scott Base to the South Pole. Once filming had finished the tractor was advertised for sale on Trademe, where Society member Bernie Mason spotted it. He mentioned it to Peter who jumped at the chance to own it. The story behind the original tractor begins on Monday October 14, 1957. In temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius, Sir Edmund Hillary and his New Zealand expedition party set off with three Ferguson tractors donated by Ferguson

Education Act input Kaikoura MP Stuart Smith is encouraging the local community to submit on the Government’s update of New Zealand’s Education Act. “Public consultation on the Government’s revamp of the Education Act is now open and I encourage anyone with an interest in the future of our education system to submit their views,” Mr Smith says. “The Education Act informs the direction of New Zealand’s education, this update to the Act will make a real difference to the schooling of kiwi kids. “The current Act is 26 years old and focuses heavily on administration and compliance. “Here is an opportunity to redesign the Act to centre on student achievement in the 21st century,” Mr Smith says.

UK, designed to haul supplies from HMNZS Endeavour to Scott Base. The party had set out for the South Pole after laying food and fuel depots for the British crossing party of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (TAE). It was an arduous journey, long hours were spent battling through sastrugi (wind-eroded snow ridges), soft snow and dangerous crevasses. It took them along the pack ice, up the Beardmore Glacier, onto the polar plateau then into the South Pole. All the men and tractors made it without any major issues and with

SPCA pushes for firework ban The SPCA is urging people not to buy fireworks this year to avoid causing fear, injury and disruption for pets. SPCA New Zealand chief executive Ric Odom says the public has known for many years that private fireworks are a danger to both people and animals. Calls for a ban on public sales have still not been met despite a Change.org petition attracting more than 32,000 signatures. “Fireworks are traumatic for animals. The loud, unexpected bangs are distressing for many animals. It can cause them to run away creating more safety issues for people and animals.”

Blenheim keeps lead in sunniest town race By Jacob Page Blenheim continues to be the sunniest town in New Zealand for 2015 following the weather statistics for October being released. Data from the Blenheim Meteorological station located at the Grovetown Park campus of the Marlborough Research Centre suggests Blenheim was sunny, dry and warm this year. While Lake Tekapo was the sun-

niest place with 290.8 hours of sunshine; 19.4 hours ahead of Blenheim for October. Whakatane recorded 276.6 hours in October; 5.2 hours ahead of Blenheim. However, Blenheim is still leading the race for sunniest town in New Zealand for 2015, with 2238.9 hours sunshine, 27.1 hours ahead of Whakatane on 2211.8 hours. Just 6mm of rain fell, well down

Plant and Food scientist Rob Agnew says October 2015 is now the ninth sunniest October on record for Blenheim with 271.7 hours of sunshine (1930-2014). This is the sunniest October since 2002, which recorded 282.3 hours. The sunniest October on record is 1969 with 299.6 hours. Mean temperature of 13.7°C was 0.7°C above the long-term average temperature for October of 13.0°C.

Card players bring trophy home By Jacob Page Two Blenheim card players got one over their Nelson rivals to take the first Lois Savage Cup. Clubs of Marlborough card section captain Peter Hand said a team from Blenheim played in a triangular cribbage tournament against Nelson and Waimea and Marlburians Ame Millan and Brian Smith took home the Lois Savage Cup. Cribbage is traditionally for two players, but commonly played with three, four or more, that involves playing and grouping cards in combinations which gain points. Both players had been involved in the game for many years. Peter says to have a new trophy for cribbage was quite exciting and to bring it back over the hill with them at the first attempt was another Veteran Marlborough cribbage players Ame Millan and Brian Smith won the first ever Lois Savage triangular tournament in Nelson. thrill.

Christmas donations on the way to less fortunate Marlburians donated 292 shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts for children in Asia and South Pacific as part of Operation Christmas Child. The boxes which had been collected for the past couple of months have been sent down to Christchurch where they will begin the process to get to their final destination. Appeal week critical for animals The SPCA Annual Appeal runs from November 2 - 8 and is the organisation’s biggest fundraising event for the year. It’s a critical week for Marlborough SPCA as it helps the charity keep doing its’ job of preventing cruelty to animals. The Annual Appeal helps fund the rescue of animals like ‘Maurice’, a dog found with awful collar wounds (pictured). Marlborough SPCA Inspector Kaycee Polkinghorne says unfortunately, cases like ‘Maurice’ prove there is still work to be done to protect New Zealand’s animals. “There is still an ongoing need for the SPCA inspectorates who are tasked with the heartbreaking job of determining whether animals are able to be rehabilitated, released or re-homed. “The SPCA is the only charity with the power to protect all animals, including the ability to prosecute people under the

Animal Welfare Act 1999,” she says. In most instances, the cost of investigating and prosecuting these cases is met by the SPCA, with costs running into the tens of thousands of dollars. The SPCA’s work is almost entirely funded by donations, sponsorships and legacies of generous New Zealanders. “We are enormously grateful to those individuals, groups and organisations. Without their support, we simply could not do the work we do,” Kaycee says. It costs around $105 for a rescue call out from an SPCA inspector to help an animal in need and $30 to give an animal a safe and warm bed for one night. Donations can be made to street collectors during the appeal or at any ASB branch or online at www.rnzspca.org.nz/ The SPCA’s annual fundraiser helps fund the annualappeal. rescue of animals like ‘Maurice’ who was found with awful collar wounds. Helen gets cheeky with sauvignon blanc By Jacob Page Helen Redshaw has coined a tune to celebrate Marlborough sauvignon blanc and poke fun at other international wine regions. Helen is in a band called With Strings Attached with friend Bruce Fergus and she decided their needed to be a song that captured the enthusiastic, yet relaxed approach to wine making in Marlborough. “I run wine tours here and most international visitors are just in heaven while they are here. “It’s 86 per cent of what we produce and I think it should be. “It’s more of a gentle poke at other countries who have been making wine for centuries and are full of tradition.”

The special “Abbacise” session planned to be held in Market Square in Blenheim today has been postponed. The 1970s-style dance exercise session was being organised to launch ticket sales for the Blenheim Musical Theatre production of the smash hit stage show Mama Mia.

Helen says she has put the song on YouTube and people are enjoying the light-hearted look at the wine. “Enjoying wine in Marlborough is fun where in other countries its all very formal.” Helen says lyrics would come to her through conversations with other people. “I got quite into it and really enjoyed the process. “I just recorded it at home and layered my voice on it.”

Sun readers have their say... with the WORD on the Street. Q: How do you usually celebrate Guy Fawkes?

I typically just go to the Lights Over Marlborough show.

I usually get together with some friends and let fireworks off in the backyard.

We would prefer to go to a big display than have our own, it’s quite expensive and we don’t have little kids anymore.

Usually just go with the boys to the fireworks display, we just chill out and watch the show.

I normally just go to the Whitney Street School fireworks display.

Norm Fowke Glass Dog response Dear Ed, I write in agreement with the letter from ‘New local resident’ (28/10/15) highlighting the unwelcome attitude to dogs in Blenheim. I have also had very negative experiences in cafes and wineries as I tried to find places that would accept the little terrier I was recently minding for five weeks. I can recommend ‘Rockferry’ as being totally dog-friendly and Cafe L’Essence up in Redwoodtown. Don’t bother with Saint Clair ... the staff there were blunt to the point of rudeness about having a dog out in the garden. I am also a new resident. I generally find Blenheim conservative and uninspiring as a small town centre. There is little evidence it has any connection to the wine region it sits in. The river is only on show at Raupo and the shops do not inspire, especially when one visits Nelson. That city is humming throughout the year with colour and creativity on show in every street. Nelson has become my regular shopping destination by default. Come on Blenheim! Surely you can do better ... Julia Gray Mayfield

No Flowers equals no bumble bees Dear Ed, Sadly these important and charismatic creatures are struggling to survive in our modern world of paved gardens, and intensive agriculture. Our bumble bees are hungry and sick. This week we have the annual Marlborough Garden Fete.. so all you Urban gardeners take note and try and help. Your accumulated garden area amounts to many acres and without the use of pesticides (Neoicotinoid/ herbicides Roundup /Glyphosate), you would certainly help the situation, even the MDC might follow suit. The clean, uncontaminated, food supply of nectar and pollen will help the bumble bees pollinate the fruit, vegetables and flowers in our domestic gardens.

Blenheim’s CBD Dear Ed, You just can’t help wondering what goes through the heads at the MDC re the CBD. The central business district (downtown Blenheim) needs all the help it can get. Council recently increased parking meter fees in central Blenheim by 80per cent to $1.50 an hour. Now it penalises CBD employees by whacking in parking charges by the Railway Station. Of course it is easy to blame councillors and mayor. However the original recommendation must have come from staff. But then council could tell staff “no!” Or is the tail (staff) wagging the dog (council)? Don Coyote

Cod confusion? By growing our own plants and flowers we’ll have healthier crops with no sprays and side effects for man and insect alike. If Bumble bees continue to decline we face ecological turmoil. Without their pollination services many flowers would produce no seeds and vegetable and fruit yields would suffer. NZ Bumble Bee Conservation.

Salmon farming Dear Ed, I have been wondering about the latest salmon deaths at the Sounds salmon farms. It said, “MPI is working closely with the country’s salmon farming industry to better understand an issue...with higher than normal fish mortality rates in early 2012 and subsequent summers.” If MPI and the salmon farm “don’t understand” why do we have salmon farms blotting the Sound’s environment? If there is a lack of understanding why did the salmon farm get given four more farms? Now we are told of “the presence of two bacteria not previously detected in New Zealand.” Fish farms crowd fish in. Bacteria, disease whatever is very likely. Yet word is the marine farming body is wanting trout farming. If it can’t handle salmon farming, would trout farming end up the same mess? Fish-Head

Dear Ed, Sadly Hugh Shields confuses the Quota Management system (QMS) with the present regulations in place to manage increasing pressure being placed on inshore fishing areas. Internationally the QMS is still the world’s best practice in managing fishing sustainably and the sooner other jurisdictions implement a similar practise the better. Heavens forbid that we have to go down the bureaucratic line suggested by Mr Shields. While bureaucracy might be seen as the answer to all things in Wellington we don’t want a bar of it in Marlborough. I remain convinced that there is a far better way – first the Minister’s for the Environment and Conservation need to bring the Conservation Act up to date and make it fit for purpose, so stakeholders are empowered to develop collective agreement on how to best manage our icon coastal recreational areas. My experience of working alongside the Te Korowai grouping down in Kaikoura convinced me that what was happening within this grouping was heading toward the best possible outcome. What was especially gratifying was that this was achieved with a minimum of red tape and the blessing of the Parliament of New Zealand. I too would recommend that readers go into the website of the Canadian and American Rock Cod Fishery and see what I mean about complexity. Colin King

Good things take time Walter Scott is not a man who rushes things. The 83-year-old’s lifetime passion for photography eventually saw him take the leap into art on a regular basis but not until he was in his early 60s. He talks to Sun Reporter Jacob Page about why it took so long, his “seeing eye” and how ‘Little Toot’ helps his work. Walter Scott has always seen things differently. He has an eye for detail but never gets bogged down by it. As someone who enjoys producing abstract pieces, he enjoys getting an idea across through his painting and leaving the person viewing it with a lust to find out more. “Abstract painting can be more about an idea rather than details,” he says. “Sometimes people get too obsessed with details. “My wife, when she paints, is very detail oriented but for me sometimes the details get in the way of a great painting. “For me, it’s what you leave out of a painting that makes it. “I’ve heard it from a person who was commissioned to paint a couple’s house. The artist painted it and the mother was very happy with it but the family was not pleased that a front fence wasn’t in it but if you saw the fence, it was something you didn’t want in, so the artist left

it out and it made the house better. Tucked away in his small studio beside his house, Walter admits time can get away from him when he is in the zone. Walter was a keen photographer in Invercargill in the 1950s. “I had an old folding camera which cost me around $5 which was a lot of money in those days – around six weeks’ pay. “However, I went with my camera and took some photos of the Christchurch Botanical Gardens. “When I got home my Dad had a friend who asked me for the photographs. “He suggested I enter them in what was a strong Invercargill Photographic Society Competition and I just so happened to win a prize. He asked if I wanted to learn more about photography.” “Over the next wee while, I upgraded some gear and one day I was watching the kids in a push pram and I looked down at a puddle and the stones looked like pearls, so I took a photo and entered it in

a competition. “The judge took one look at it and said ‘whoever took this has the seeing eye’. “I later found out that I was lucky enough to be able to see things differently using light and composition. “If I’m painting outside, I find I can get a third dimension, a camera is selective in what it shows you, so you always get more depth when painting outside. “I paint a lot outside, I see a scene and I paint it,” he says. I have a little camera I call ‘Little Toot’, it fits in my pocket and is covered in paint. “It allows me to take an instant snapshot of what something looks like.” Walter also paints with pallet

knife which allows him to paint and use all shapes and sizes in the image. “I did pastels for a number of years but I moved on to oils. “With pastels I felt I was no longer getting to where I wanted to go and oils have allowed me to get that feeling back.” Walter says he first dabbled in painting in 1971 but then hardly touched a paint brush for 20 years as his photography took flight. “I got to a point 20 years ago where I decided I had gone as far as I could with photography so I started painting with water colours, then pastels and now oils. “It’s been a journey,” he says. “I don’t look back and feel like I missed out on a lot of time when I was younger that I could have spent

painting, I just let it run its course and I’m enjoying what I do now. “It’s a big change especially when you’re in your 60s. “I remember my first exhibition someone said ‘what is this photographer doing here?’ “I told them I had two paintings up on the wall and that took them back.” When Walter paints on the side of the road around Marlborough his concentration is often broken by inquisitive tourists and even locals who want to have a chat about what he is doing. “People seem quite surprised so they stop and take photos of me doing it. “It doesn’t break my concentration but it’s always nice to talk art with people.”

It’s SunSmart Month Be sun safe while enjoying the outdoors!

November 2015

Protect delicate skin Young children need sun protection and ensuring strollers and play areas have adequate shade. It is also important to check your child’s clothing, hat and shade positioning regularly to ensure they continue to provide protection from the sun. The ‘uv2Day’ is a useful app which uses data from the weather experts NIWA and is supported by the Cancer Society. This app provides estimates of the current UVI from sunlight, and how it varies throughout the day at your current location, or other locations. This helps you know when to protect yourself with sunscreen, a hat, clothes and shade.

Be aware, melanoma risk high in NZ While it can be easy to get caught up in fun outdoor activities over the summer months, it is important to remember that New Zealanders are more at risk of sunburn than people in many other countries. Over exposure to the sun’s Ultra violet rays can increase risk of developing skin cancer. While skin cancer can be largely preventable it is still the most common form of cancer in New Zealand and we have among the highest rates in the world. In New Zealand, Melanoma accounts for approximately 80 per cent of all skin cancer deaths. While the outlook for most people diagnosed with early stage melanoma is good, there

are some simple precautions that can be taken to help prevent melanomas which include wearing sun protective clothing when outdoors, using sunscreens with a sun protection factor of 30 or higher, never allowing your skin to burn and wearing UV protective sunglasses. The first sign of a melanoma is a change in an existing mole or freckle, or the appearance of a new mole or freckle. If you have had previous skin cancers, have a family history of melanoma, or a large number of moles, you may be at a higher risk of developing melanoma. Be vigilant about your health over summer and consult a health care professional with any queries or concerns.

Hydration Being SunSmart also includes the consideration of your hydration levels. We all know that water is the best choice of beverage in order for us to stay hydrated, but are we taking enough precautions to avoid dehydration, especially over the summer months? Signs of dehydration include extreme thirst, tiredness, feeling lightheaded, and abdominal or muscle cramping. It is important to remember that thirst occurs after your body is dehydrated so drinking water even when you aren’t thirsty is vital. There are some easy things you can do to ensure you are staying hydrated such as being sure to carry a drink bottle with you when possible, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, adhering to the generic guidelines of at least eight glasses of water a day, and moving to a shaded area where possible to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion.

Babies and young children have sensitive skin that can be easily damaged by the sun. Babies are not born with a developed skin protection system and are therefore at a greater risk of sunburn. Sunburn during childhood can raise the risk of developing skin cancer later in life, therefore it is important for parents and caregivers to educate themselves and their children on being SunSmart and make sure they are leading by example. There are some simple things parents can do to reduce the exposure of infant’s to UVR such as choosing appropriate sunhats that provide protection to the face, neck and ears,

A fence can only be as good as the posts that hold it up and the fencer that put them there. Graeme Coleman has been operating his fencing contracting business for 35 years, building fences for property owners all over Marlborough. A large portion of his work is done for farm owners, however he says the demand for security fencing is increasing. “The overall increase in security and health and safety needs has seen us busy fencing off private and business properties.” In addition to new fences, Graeme Coleman Ltd also carries out repairs and maintenance, vineyard development and post replacement, wire work plus much more. In fact, with nearly 35 years of being in business there isn’t a lot that Graeme doesn’t know about fencing. His reputation for quality workmanship has grown solidly over the years and has become a dependable name within the industry. With his team of five additional fencers, Graeme Coleman Ltd can tackle any fencing job so for more information contact him today.

Growing to demand Thornhill Horticultural Contracting Ltd is a well established labour supply company here in Marlborough and has experienced crews ready to work. Led by South Island manager John Bibby, the company first began in Hawkes Bay before diversifying into Marlborough in 2006. What began as a small operation with 40 workers has since grown to around 350, enabling Thornhill Horticultural Contracting Ltd to meet the region’s growing demand. “Our crews are reliable and are available all year round,” John says. It provides crews of workers from New Zea-

land and overseas which have been trained to carry out a huge range of work. “We specialise in a wide spectrum of work including pruning, bud rubbing, wire lifting, planting and young vine training - the whole lot,” he says. Ninja Turtle visits Blenheim By Celeste Lodewyk PND Marlborough held a very special event last Saturday which featured a well loved superhero. As part of the National Postnatal Depression Awareness Week (October 31 - November 8) a public fundraising event was held at the St Christopher’s Hall in Redwoodtown. The star attraction was an appearance by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Mikey and April, much to the delight of the children. Mikey and April (Neil and Christina McCready) form New Zealand’s first and only charity Ninja Turtle, available for hospital visits, school galas and fundraisers. The pair were invited by PND Marlborough for an event they felt was very important. “Big thanks to Samantha Muriel Holmes and all of PND Marlborough for your effort for such a good cause. We had a great time. “Dudes, depression and anxiety are common in parents before and after birth, so if this rings any bells for you or someone you know, get in touch with these guys because

they’re here to help,” Mikey says. PND Marlborough runs an Ante and Post Natal Support Group which provides an opportunity to meet other mothers who are experiencing ante or post natal distress, which may include low moods, isolation, depression and anxiety, and who are finding it difficult to cope around the birth of a new baby. The group runs for ten weeks each school term on Friday mornings from 9.30am till 11.30am. This is an open group, you may join at any time and continue into the next term if the participants feel continuing support is still beneficial. Child care is provided by a group of caring women; if required. New born babies are welcome in the group. Huge Demand for Military Medals

C

urrently, throughout the world there is a very big demand by collectors for Military Medals. These cover all wars right through from the New Zealand Land Wars and the Boer War, to the First and Second World Wars and the later Korea and Vietnam conflicts. New Zealand Servicemen and Women first served overseas in the Boer War in South Africa around 1900 and the Military Medals awarded for this service are needed by the buyers, as are any other Medals from early New Zealand and the New Zealand Wars. General service medals from both the First and Second World Wars will also be purchased, but as can be imagined these were awarded in fairly large numbers. “If a group of medals has any special award for bravery such as the Military Medal, Military or Flying Cross or other medals for Distinguished Conduct or Meritorious Service, these can add great value to a group” stated Mr Tony Grant, buyer for John Bertrand (Collectables) Ltd. “Many families have old medals, some dating back to early Imperial days, that they are not sure what to do with. We will be happy to look at any Military Medals whatsoever, just bring them in to venues” he said.

Old Coins Can Toss Up a Rarity

C

heck those drawers and cupboards, you may have a rarity lurking amongst your coins. This advice from Tony Grant, buyer for John Bertrand (Collectables) Ltd. “We want to see any old foreign coin accumulations put together before 1950. We will be quite happy to go through your coins on the spot and give you an idea of what we can pay. You just never know what can turn up! New Zealand silver coins up to 1946 will be purchased at 10 times their face value” he said.

Queen Charlotte half marathon set to rock By Jacob Page A new Queen Charlotte half marathon this weekend is set to be as entertaining as it will be gruelling. The first Queen Charlotte Classic Lochmara Lodge half marathon will capture some of Marlborough’s best scenery, according to organiser Peter Yarrell. “It will be a race in paradise, capturing 21.5 kms of the Queen Charlotte Track … 100% pure New Zealand. “Right from the get go, cruising the Beachcomber out of Picton to the start at Anakiwa, competitors will be enthralled by the natural beauty of the inner Queen Charlotte Sound with the

“double banger” experience riding on the water before running on the track.” With competitors from South and North joining the scores of local athletes the run into Lochmara Lodge will be no long slog. Captain Cook and Elvis Presley will provide the music and cheer at points along the track to entertain the runners and keep their thoughts away from leg muscles aching and lungs gasping. To greet the runners Lochmara lodge will be in festive mood. An athletes lunch cooked up on the barby and some big beat country and western favourites courtesy

of local musos Dave and Janette St John will greet the finishers. Every finisher will receive an inaugural medal. T he ha rd work i ng Marlborough Bread of Life Foundation are the beneficiaries of the event. Peter says he’d like to see the event become a regular one on the Marlborough sporting calendar. “This could be the beginning of an annual Lochmara Lodge half marathon where competitors can have the race of their lives and at the same time visit the iconic Lochmara Lodge whilst raising some worthwhile funds for a local hard working charity,” he says.
