Raining wine!

The Marlborough Wine and Food Festival got rained on for the first time in its 34-year history, but partygoers didn’t let it spoil their fun. The festival, one of the biggest events of the year, was sold-out and the 8000 people there were determined to have a good time, despite a bit of rain. Among the partygoers were Lucy Croft, Tanya Homan, and Eleanor Fraser-Dymond, all from the West Coast, celebrating Tanya’s impending wedding. Continued on page 2 Lucy Croft, Tanya Homan, and Eleanor Fraser-Dymond were celebrating the hen’s do for Tanya at the wine and food festival.

How to reach us

Festival goers have good time despite the rain Continued from page 1 The rain, which drizzled on and off through Saturday, didn’t dampen the spirits of those celebrating at the Wine and Food Festival. Over from the West Coast were Tanya Homan, Lucy Croft, and Eleanor Fraser-Dymond, celebrating the hen’s do for Tanya’s wedding. The young women, all 27 or 28, said they have always wanted to attend the Marlborough Wine and Food Festival, and had never quite got around to it before. Also celebrating were Jess and Drew Caetano, from the American state of Conneticut, who got married on February 2 in Wanaka. Saturday was their last day in New Zealand, and they were enjoying it at the festival. Wine Marlborough event manager Georgie Leach says the festival’s organising committee is really pleased with how it went. “We’re getting some amazing feedback, lots of positive things, we

can be really proud.” They haven’t had a full debrief yet, but initial feedback from police and other emergency services is good, she says. A police spokesman says there were no arrests at the Wine and Food Festival. “Police conducted checkpoints at the exit of the event between 3.30pm and 8pm. Nobody was found to be over the limit, which is a great result.” Georgie says capacity was increased this year, and so there would have been about 8500 people onsite during the festival. Having the main music act hit the stage earlier in the afternoon worked well, she says. The local food heroes showcase also worked well, and Georgie says they hope to develop that next year. “We’ve starting planning next year already.” There has been a really good mix at the festival, Georgie says.

Raymond Vallance, Di Saul, and Sandi Somerville.

Some wineries come every year, some every second year, and it was good to have some new ones showing, she says. “It’s a good snapshot of Marlborough in one day, really.”

Georgie says the word of mouth is starting to spread internationally as well, with a lot of people from out-of-town and overseas planning their trips to Marlborough around the festival.

Rick wins Mr Gay New Zealand By Celeste Alexander Rick Devine-White still can’t wipe the smile off his face after being announced as the winner of Mr Gay New Zealand 2018. He arrived home Monday night to a welcoming party at the airport with banners and cheers from friends and supporters. “I’m blown away by the number of people who have been congratulating me... it’s so incredibly humbling,” he grins. After a four week public campaign and an intense two days of challenges, Rick was announced as the winner on Sunday. Rick won the most overall points from six different challenges; Online Vote, Online Opinion Piece, One-on-one Interview, LGBTI Knowledge Test, Photoshoot and Public Speaking. In accepting the award in front of the crowd at Caluzzi, Rick paid tribute to his hus-

band and mother for being so supportive. “It’s not easy to put yourself forward and be judged by your peers, and today has been so special,” he said after his win. “The last person that I want to say thank you to is my mum because she is here.” Rick’s mum came forward and embraced her son on stage. “My mum is my biggest role model, she has taught me empathy, she has taught me unconditional love, to give back to people and most of all she taught me to be the best person you can,” he says. Rick now heads off to South Africa in May for Mr Gay World to represent New Zealand and he is looking forward to taking on the world and his good mate Mr Gay Pride Australia Jordan Bruno. “New Zealand, this is going to be the third time we win Mr Gay World, and Jordan Bruno, I’m coming for you.”

Whooping cough warning Nelson Marlborough Public Health Service clinical director public health Dr Stephen Bridgman is urging parents to check their children’s immunisation status as they return to school and group activities. There is an outbreak of whooping cough in Marlborough, he says, and while the number of notified cases has decreased from its peak of around 50 a week before Christmas to 20 cases a week now, numbers might increase again with the start of the school year. “Children, and especially infants, remain at much higher risk than normal from this highly-contagious, serious disease”. Immunisation is free for: babies and infants at ages 6 weeks, 3 months, and 5 months; older children aged 4 years and 11 years; and pregnant women between 28 – 38 weeks gestation.

Year ahead to focus on the basics Council will focus on the basics this year, improving infrastructure in the region, Marlborough mayor John Leggett says. He foreshadows a ‘no frills’ approach to the council’s pending Long Term Plan, and rates increases, caused by extra responsibilities around drinking water provision and requirements from central government. “We are being as prudent as we can but there’s some work we need to do. “It will be a challenge to make sure we come up with something acceptable to our ratepayers.” Council committees resumed meetings last week, and John says he has spoken to all councillors as the year gets back into action. He says there is a ‘good vibe’. “The focus is on our responsibilities, doing the essentials really well.” Those essentials are the infrastructure in the region and the environment.

John Leggett

John says the infrastruture is about making sure the council can meet its responsibilities when it comes to housing, and future developments and subdivisions. Projects on the go include sewerage in Blenheim and Picton, as well as freshwater in Seddon, Renwick and Havelock. Central government has a number of expectations of councils, particularly around drinking water pro-

vision, which have implications for some reasonably significant rates increases, he says. There is the added challenge around the earthquake, and its impact on some old infrastructure, such as the earthenware pipes a lot of Blenheim and Picton’s water networks use. Figures from a recent council meeting estimate $9.5m to repair pipes in Blenheim cracked in the November 2016 earthquake and another $2.5m to repair those in Picton. The other area John says is really important is the Marlborough Environment Plan. “It has a simple focus, we’re a primary industry region and we have to make sure that we’re looking after the environment, it’s about sustaining industry long term, not only on the land, but in the Sounds as well.”

Park for their cycling skills sessions. The Trail Blazers section of the club caters for five to 12 year-olds, and aims to build bike confidence by taking them through a series of fun exercises. “The kids have fun and don’t even realise the skills

they are learning on their bikes,” Lance says. At the end of the Thursday session, Lance and his helpers organised a water fight with hundreds of water balloons and everyone was a target as the youngsters raced around the back field at the park.

Top dahlias on show at weekend By Bill McElhinney Some of the best dahlias in the country will be on show in Blenheim this weekend. “These will be quality flowers, in a league of their own,” Marlborough Horticultural Society president Philip Gibbison says. “There will be some as big as dinner plates and some that are really small, and a huge variety of colours.” The Marlborough Society is hosting the 80th jubilee show, ‘Dahlias d’Vine,’ for the National Dahlia Society of New Zealand. “Dahlias don’t travel well,” Philip says, “so there are usually two shows each year, one in the North Island and one in the South Island. “But because it’s the 80th jubilee, they’re making it a national show and it’s being held in Blenheim. “It’s a big event, and we’ve been working away at organising it for the past three years. “We expect 60 people from all around the country, from Invercargill to Auckland, to come for the show.

“And we will have a couple of dahlia enthusiasts from Australia, one from Britain and one from the United States.” One of the country’s top dahlia growers will also be at the show to demonstrate growing and breeding techniques. Dahlias are making a comeback in bridal bouquets, society treasurer Trudy Frew says. “There are so many wonderful varieties and we’re seeing more brides choosing them for their wedding,” Trudy says. The dahlia show will be combined with the Marlborough Horticultural Society’s annual show, so there will be a range of other exhibits besides the dahlias, Philip says. “The shows are a great social occasion for growers,” he says. “It’s a time to catch up and a great opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and information.” The show will be held in St Mary’s Church Hall, behind St Mary’s Church in Maxwell Road and will be open to the public for a gold coin donation from 2pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.

I went to a friend’s 60th last night, it was a great party and we carried on to the festival. It’s my first time here.

I’ve come with my partner, we’re new to Blenheim. I’m working at the hospital.

I have to be here - it’s my name on the special license. I work for Wine Marlborough which runs the festival.

I’m working today, for Cloudy Bay Wines. It’s my first time here.

We’ve just moved to Blenheim and thought we should come.

My parents are here from Germany, and my step-father loves wine, so I gave them tickets for Christmas.

MDC “con” jobs

Valentine’s Day

Dear Ed, A letter drawing attention to inefficient contractors and ratepayers footing the bill reminded me the other day in drizzly rain, I saw a contractor spraying the roadside grass. Totally wasted money. Never mind. Ratepayers will cough up. “Con” seems the common syllable because consultants are used heavily by MDC. “Now a Ratepayer” Blenheim

Dear Ed, My wife and I have been happily married for 48 years and we don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. Why? Because we see right through the pink, heart-shaped BS that surrounds this day and don’t feel any pressure to participate. After spending years loving someone, there are so many other things to celebrate other than a date on the calendar that says you should show your love for

someone. Real love and commitment is celebrated every day, and we don’t need to buy roses, chocolates, balloons or any other commercial pap to make it real. Loving words, acts of kindness, care and gentleness do far more to enhance our relationship than buying presents once a year. Happy Together Blenheim

Rail rules Dear Ed, Great article on a great subject, Gary Coburn the railway man. Well done, that man! Gary speaks of the vital necessity for apprenticeships. I had been led to believe that communism was the example of ideology driving society, but Fay and Richwhite demonstrated that the ideology of creating a peasant class led by a technocrat elite worked very well for those at the top of the heap. So now we are told that we must let in an army of Chinese tradesmen to do the construction we apparently have to get done. When Gary was serving his apprenticeship, Kiwis had practically the highest real standard of living in the world. We have been led down a very slippery slope since then. Sure, we have all the geegaws and doodads – the landfills are full of them – but what about the necessities? That old line about ‘teaching a man to fish’ is an absolute truth. Hope it is not too late for our nation to start getting real. Bill Holvey Blenheim

Youngsters, you should check this out By Bill McElhinney The Blenheim Chess Club is looking to get more youngsters involved in this ancient game of wits. “We would like to get kids and families involved,” club member Rod Gray says. The club meets on Sundays between 10am and 1pm at the Joocy Loocy Cafe in John Street. Rod, who has been a chess player for 20 years, started the club last year with the help of others. “It’s more satisfying playing chess with a person across the table than playing on line,” Rod

says. “And it’s a friendly environment. We have a rule that you must shake hands at the end. It’s not about winning; it’s about enjoying the game. “We already have some young players, aged from eight years upwards, and some of them are very good. “What we hope to do is contact Marlborough schools and see if they will support the idea of getting youngsters involved in chess.” Chess has been linked with improving children’s concentration, problem-solving and

creative thinking – and even mathematical abilities. It is also said to help with memory storage and how young brains manage information “If there’s enough interest we can look at starting a schools tournament,” Rod says. Rod says grandparents come to the club with grandchildren and the adults just turn up ready to play. “And we had a mum who came to watch her son play. She learned to play herself and now joins in with him. “We would like to see parents come with their children. There’s

no charge, you just need to bring your own board. “You need a basic knowledge of the game, but there will always be people there to give advice and tips.” Rod also hopes to attract more of the seasonal workers who play chess and come to Marlborough to work in the wine industry. “There’s a strong chess culture in many of these countries. We’d like visitors to Marlborough to know we’re here and that they are welcome to come and join in.” Keen chess player Christopher Vigneaux enjoys the Sunday games. Loud and proud Big Scout are a punkinfluenced band of musicians playing hard together and keen to build a good music scene in Marlborough.

The members of Big Scout - Gregg Slatter, guitar, Matthew Hellriegel, drums, and Jim Tannock, bass. Photo Jim Tannock.

Big Scout are roaring back into action, with songs published online and gigs lined up to make local ears ring. Influenced by Husker Du, an American hardcore punk band from 1979 to 1987, Big Scout has three members as well. “There’s something about a threepiece, that’s incredibly stripped down and we really like it,” they say. The three-piece band are Jim Tannock, Matt Hellriegel and Gregg Slatter, all who are well-known in Blenheim. Jim is a photographer, and Gregg works for WineWorks. Matt, well-known for his coffee-making and hospitality skills setting up Ritual cafe on Maxwell Road, has returned from travels and Big Scout has resumed. Jim says they have been together three and a half years, with a hiatus while Matt was overseas.

“We’ve been playing together in public for about a year,” Matt says. While he’s been away, Gregg and Jim have been writing. “Matt is now back and we can play gigs again,” Jim says.

“It’s grown like crazy, it’s the best night out in Marlborough.” “We’ve been going through our Dropbox of the ideas, and developing them with Matt back – we’re pretty excited about it.” They got an album out when Matt returned to Marlborough for two weeks last year, and Jim says the band has now ‘sharpened up our

live chops’, and they are making the most of the summer, booking what they can. Greg says venues can be tough in small towns. “There are a lot of residential areas,” he says. “The way the wind blows in Blenheim, it can take the sound the wrong way. “We’re always on the lookout for good spots, we’re keen to annoy as few people as possible.” While they’re really looking for the particularly one great spot, Jim says they’re ‘just playing anywhere’ in the meantime. They’ve done ‘pop-up’ gigs in town, where he says they’ve ‘got power across and just played’ at places like Liz Davidson Place and in the amphitheatre down by Saveur. “We’ll play anywhere,” Matt says. The next local gig Big Scout are playing is at Framingham’s

pre-harvest party on March 9. Jim says they played there three years ago and it will be great to play there again. “It’s grown like crazy, it’s the best night out in Marlborough.” Matt says the band grew out of ‘a little bit of frustration’ at what wasn’t happening in Marlborough. As well as having a good time making music together, the men are keen to be a catalyst for a scene here in Marlborough. “Not just us, but getting a live scene happening, which includes touring bands and local bands.” He says they want to be generous with their playing and do as much as they can. So far, it’s working. “In the early days, you invite your mates, and then this kind of thing starts to fall on the right ears. “It starts slowly but it does feel like we’re attracting the kind of people with a love for this sort of

thing.” They are keen for others to reach out and get in touch. “Anyone who is sitting in their garage, playing music, or their bedroom or wherever, and wants to play more in this town, or find a way to get immersed in more live music, you need to have a network, and it’s great for people to reach out.” Big Scout is on social media, he says and he invites people to contact them. “Anyone who feels like it, even people who are not exactly into what we’re doing but people who want to be creative and build a scene around that, it’s important to us. “We’d like to see more happening here, we’d love for them to get in touch. “Anyone can reach out – it’s nice to think of this as a vehicle to bring people together as well.”

Birth and beyond When it comes to pregnancy, birth and the months that follow there is a lot of information and advice that would benefit expecting parents. But where to find it? With the Marlborough Parents Centre (MPC)! The MPC is a volunteer run, non-profit organisation that recently celebrated its 40th birthday. The MPC delivers childbirth education and new mum support through a range of courses. The childbirth education is provided by trained edu-

Many of these class groups become friends and go on to form regular coffee groups. “We also have a feeding support group for all types of non-solid feeding which we started in the past few months,” MPC committee secretary Colleen Murray says. When looking at childcare options and researching the benefits of home-based services one might ask ‘what are the benefits’? Janine Collett, owner of Blossoms homebased Childcare shares some insight into the relationships established between the child and the caregiver. Janine has worked in the early childhood education sector for over 25 years and it’s something she is hugely passionate about. “The main benefit of home-based childcare is the opportunity for each child to establish a secure attachment and close relationship with one person (primary care-giving). A close relationship between the child and the caregiver, will not only reduce stress for the child (and parent) but is the best way to nourish the child’s growing brain. “When a caregiver plays with and sings, speaks, reads or tells a story to the child and nurtures her or him with love and affection, the child’s brain grows. Being healthy, interacting with a loving caregiver and being in a safe environment can make a big difference in a child’s growth, development and future potential,” she says. What to look for when choosing a childcare option. Here are some tips from Janine. • Primary care giving (either in a Homebased situation or choose a center that provides this). • Look for adults who respond to the children, who get down to the children’s level, who show respect for children and provide clear expectations of rules and

boundaries and adults who are clearly interested in children as people. • Look around at the other children. Are they confident and happy? • Chat to the adults about how they deal with certain behaviors, ask about what their priorities are when caring for children. • Ensure the option feels right and fits with your own parenting values. • Trust your initial gut feeling.

Or, try spreading on cream cheese, add a piece of sliced meat and roll up into a simple wrap. Defibrillator a community event

Fish & Game officer Rhys Barrier releases more rainbow trout into the Taylor River.

Another batch of rainbow trout is released into the Taylor River.

By Bill McElhinney If you fancy trout for tea, now’s a good time to hit the local waterways. Nelson/Marlborough Fish and Game staff were busy on Thursday releasing more crimson flanked rainbow trout into Lake Argyle, the Taylor River in central Blenheim, and Spring Creek. Nelson Marlborough Fish & Game Manager Rhys Barrier says the fish are grown on contract for Fish & Game, and will hopefully be of real benefit to licensed anglers. Rhys and field officers Vaughan Lynn and Jacob Lucas released 100 good-sized trout into each of the waterways. Late last year 200 tagged rainbow trout were released into lake Argyle and the lower hydro

canal, and one can win a lucky angler a $500 Henderson’s Fishing Store voucher. “There have been a lot of anglers up there and a lot of fish caught, but no one’s got the lucky tag yet,” Rhys says. He says the Taylor River and Spring Creek releases would provide close to town options for anglers, in particular the junior anglers of Blenheim who delight in the chance to catch trout in the Taylor River. “Staff regularly field calls from elated junior anglers and their parents who have tasted success as a result of our releases.” “Putting the fish into these waterways allows us to get past the high mortality rate that juvenile fish in these rivers experience” Rhys says.

A defibrillator has been provided by the Blue Door to the Te Whanau Hou Grovetown Lagoon Society and will be housed at Grovetown School. The machine is used to help people having sudden heart trouble, and it delivers an electric shock to the heart to get it beating normally again, helping keep people alive for the ambulance to arrive and medical treatment can start. School principal Selena Tonks says the machine arrived at the school last week and is being installed currently. “It’s really been the lagoon committee that have made it happen,” she says. “We’re just providing the facility for it really. “It’s a great community project.” Te Whanau Hou Grovetown Lagoon Society coordinator Justine Johnson says the Blue Door funded the grant to get the defibrillator. The nearest one to the lagoon previously was at the Z service station on

Great tasting food is everything! No matter what the occasion whether it be corporate lunches through to weddings, RB Catering will work to ensure your expectations and budget are met. The business is owned and operated by Roxanne Phipps who first established it 14 years ago. She has also added another string to her bow by purchasing the popular Marlborough Weddings & Events business. This now means Roxanne can not only plan and run weddings and events, but she can cater for them

as well. “I can take care of the whole process from planning to completion so that you can sit back and enjoy it,” she says. Through the Marlborough Weddings & Events, Roxanne has a huge variety of items for hire including wedding decorations, chair covers, linen and soon-to-be added crockery. Packages are available for a number of venues also, and can include catering options that can be tailored for what you need. For more information contact Roxanne.

Georgie McLean - Padz and Pawz It’s been nearly two years since Georgie McLean took over Padz and Pawz kennels and cattery at Koromiko, and she loves it more than ever. As an animal lover and registered breeder (Wolfhaus) of German Shepherds. Georgie says ‘it’s the best job in the world’. “After working most of my life on fishing trawlers I made the decision to sell up and go looking for a kennels business to buy. I came and visited this one and knew instantly I wanted to be here,” she says. Georgie’s natural affiliation with cats and dogs stems from her

studies in pet care, canine behaviour training and experience with breeding. Padz and Pawz can house 20 cats and 65 dogs, provided they are vaccinated. “I also accept non social and unneutered dogs, which can be exercised alone if need be,” she says. For the dogs all kennels are insulated, there’s a heated indoor area and Georgie says the dogs come out four times a day in supervised social groups. The cats also benefit from their own outdoor area with a large tree and plenty of places to hide. For more information contact Georgie.

Masters’ games kart placing Blenheim karter Tim Evans won a gold medal in the Briggs section of the Master Games in Dunedin at the beginning of the month. All the South Island clubs were represented at the two-day event, organised and run by the KartSport Dunedin club at their Silverstream Raceway near Mosgiel. Blenheim super saloon driver Shane McIntyre (26e), former 3NZ, is one of three locals competing for a South Island title this weekend.

Ground shaking race action this weekend By Celeste Alexander If you haven’t had your fill of speedway this season yet, you are about to get a whole lot more this weekend. There is a two-day line up of action packed racing this Friday and Saturday with super saloons, street cars and streetstocks, all competing in their own champi-

onships. The weekend is proudly brought to you by Stop Family Violence, and will see the action kicked off on Friday at 7pm with the South Island Super Saloon Champs where locals Peter Dickson (11e), Shane McIntyre (26e) and David Speirs (62e) will go up against some of the island’s best super

saloon drivers. Peter is the former 1NZ and Shane the former 3NZ, so plenty of quality driving will be seen from our local drivers. Friday night will also see the Marlborough Streetstock Champs, Richmond Vehicle Testing Station Sidecar Dash for Cash and much more.

On Saturday at 6pm is the Vertex Super Cup, with 26 super saloons expected to converge in Blenheim for the weekend, so hold on to your seat for some ground shaking power on the track. There will also be the finals for the Marlborough Streetstock Champs as well as Charlie’s Champs for youth ministocks.

Reel in a great prize, Renwick fishing competition By Celeste Alexander For the past two years a record number of entries have been received for the Renwick Arms Country Club Fishin’ Competition, so can they be superceded? The answer will be found out once the last of the entries are received by Thursday, February 22. This popular annual event attracts people of all ages and this year kicks off on the 23rd and finishes with the weigh-in event on Sunday. Club manager and organiser Alan Ferguson says the competition is looking to be another great event with the prize pool sitting up around $10,000. “We will have some really great prizes up for grabs including the main prize of a fishing charter thanks to sponsorship from Local Knowledge Fishing Charter in Havelock. “The guys who won this last year

Josh and Paul Fuller with their snapper and blue cod at last year’s fishing competition. File photo.

had a blast and ended up getting four kingfish over a metre long, 12 groper and their limit of cod. “There were some very happy

people coming off that charter,” Alan laughs. For all the children that enter there will also be some great

prizes, including goodie bags for those who go along to the weigh-in on the Sunday. “Regardless if the kids catch anything we provide little prizes for them. “Talleys have given me four boxes of bait so I like to give the kids a wee packet of squid, that starts them fishing,” Alan says. Last year’s heaviest catch was a stingray and a good number of ‘really big’ snappers and kingfish were entered. “The ray was an ugly looking thing but won the heaviest, so you never know your luck... you could catch the big prize,” he says. To enter, forms can be found anywhere the posters are displayed including Renwick businesses, Guthrie Bowron (payment can be made there also) and Hendersons. The cost to enter is $25 for non-club members, $20 for club members and $5 for children.

Shearing placings Marlborough competitors placed well in the Inangahua A and P Show’s Reefton Shears last weekend, the first round of a new New Zealand team selection series. Chris Jones placed third in the open final, Sarah Higgins was also third in the senior final, and Duncan Higgins was third in the intermediate final. The shearers face an eight-show series which ends in Christchurch in November, almost nine months before the 2019 World Championships in La Dorat, France. The next shearing competition in the region is at Murchison on February 17.

The Incredible Hulk Team were the costume winners in last year’s Muddy Buddy event.

Having a muddy good time… Muddy Buddy entrants get into the spirit during the 2017 event.

Muddy Buddy fun on at Havelock again By Bill McElhinney Getting down and dirty has never been such fun. Last year 430 people of all ages slipped, slithered, slid and ultimately smiled their way around the Marlborough Muddy Buddy adventure run course in the Havelock Estuary. This time around, even more hardy souls are expected to tackle the increasingly-popular annual event. It will be the seventh year the event has been run, with organisers planning for a record turnout.

The opportunity to take on the ultimate mud-packed adventure fun run for folk of all abilities has proved irresistible. Features of the 800m course, such as the slippery slide, cargo net crawl and tyre run, are designed to put competitors to a physical test – as well as bathing them in mud, mud, glorious mud! “The event has proven very popular with Marlburians as it provides a low-cost physical challenge for friends, family and work colleagues,” Sport Tasman community

sport advisor Braden Prideaux says, “Last year we had over 400 participants and this year we’re aiming to break that record.” “The Muddy Buddy brings out your inner child, by sliding, jumping and splashing around in mud with your team mates.” At the conclusion of the fun, the Havelock Volunteer Community Fire Brigade will provide the all-important wash down. This Sport Tasman event is happening on Sunday, February 25, in the Havelock Estuary, off

Rangitane Drive, from 12pm until 3.30pm. There will also be heaps of spot prizes, including one for the most “out there” costume, won last year by The Incredible Hulk team. “We also highly encourage our participants to dress up in a costume they don’t mind getting muddy,” said Prideaux. “As well as food and drinks for sale, there is an amazing array of spot prizes up for grabs that have been generously donated by local businesses including cruises,

accommodation packages and leisure trips.” Register either as a team (maximum of 20) or a family (maximum of five). Entry fee for a team is $10 per person, while a family can enter for $35. So grab your friends, family and work colleagues and give it a go! Register at www.sporttasman. org.nz by clicking on the Events/ Workshop tab, or register on the day.
