Attempts to form a new Marlborough Tennis Club, The Wanderers, have struck a major roadblock. The club is seeking affiliation with the Marlborough Tennis Association so that players can take part in the association’s competitions, and also compete at regional and national level. Club members have been surprised by the re-
quirements asked of them and a spokesperson for the Marlborough Community Law Centre says questions surround both their fairness and the list of questions the association is asking. “Can they justify the choice or origins of the questions being asked, and secondly, do these questions apply to all clubs in the MTA?” he said.
