Joy is all about the contentment and satisfaction from God that identifies the heavenly life that God promised for his children. Paul says in the book of Romans that the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14.17). The
blessed pleasure of Joy and - the Holy
Spirit, author of joy are always interrelated. When we experience the Holy Spirit, in reality we taste the real joy at the core. To experience this
real
joy
we
need
to
have
a
salvation
experience. The Holy Spirit resides in all those who believe in him, just as Jesus promised in (John
14.16-17).
If
you
think
you
need
this
wonderful experience of joy of the Lord, please do repent, confess your sins and receive Jesus as your personal savior. Everyone who has a born again experience of the Holy Spirit, will receive this incredible joy.

When
the
Spirit
of
joy
comes
in
us
we
experience
the
deliverance of salvation. In the book of 1 Samuel, we read the story of Hannah who was filled with joy when God met with her and delivered her. In the book of Acts we see a servant girl overjoyed when God had rescued Peter from prison. The joy of the
Holy
Spirit
brings
spiritual
maturity
and
better
understanding of a meaningful life on Earth. As you read this edition on the theme “the Spirit of joy'' you will have a tremendous experience of it in abundance.

JOY IN CHRIST

kingdom Perspectives I wwwkpm.org.uk
T
he Bible Says “...The joy of the Lord is my strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 We all might have said this verse during different phases of our life. Truly, it’s only in the presence of the Lord that we can find joy. We being Christians, followers of Christ; what does joy mean than what the world says it is? We live in a world where happiness is considered to have set norms. People tend to achieve more in life to become happy. Having a white collar job, stable income, a good house, a good family, a luxury car and all these are considered as a source of happiness in this world.
12
kingdom Perspectives I wwwkpm.org.uk
But if we ask people who have all of these, they’ll still say that they’re trying to pursue something else in life. But we know none of these things can bring permanent joy or peace in our life. We always look into what we don’t have and thus it keeps a void amidst everything. Being children of God, what do we say is our source of joy. When the world offers mere happiness which doesn’t last, the scripture says in John 15:11 ”That my joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full.” Christ centred life is always a joyful life. No matter what we go through, if He is there with us then we will be able to live a peaceful and joyful life. Most of the time it’s the fear about the future that takes away our peace and joy. But remember Jesus is already there in our unseen future. We may not know what we will be or how we will sustain, but remember the One who is holding our right hand will never leave us nor forsake us. We serve a mighty and wonderful God who fulfils what He promises. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.“Jeremiah 29:11. Let’s put our trust in Him who has a plan for us, so that we don’t have to worry about it.
13
kingdom Perspectives I wwwkpm.org.uk
Looking around the current situation that we are in, we sometimes lose hope and joy. But again, the scripture tells us to “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4). Whatever trials we go through, let us count it all joy (James 1:2). Because everything will turn into glory, if we allow God to work on it. Now there are times where the enemy reminds us of our mistakes in the past and keeps us worried. “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1. Nothing in our past is too dark for the love of God. Remember, when conviction of a good future is from the Holy Spirit; condemnation is of the enemy. Let us pray along with the Psalmist “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” We are called to enjoy freedom in Christ and not let the enemy take it out from us.

JOYFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE Christian Life is a joyful life. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of joy, who is the secret for our joy. The holy Bible says “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking
but
righteousness
of
and
peace
and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14.17). It was the special favor of God that God had given His spirit to our life so that we may live in his fullness. His fullness means
joy,
peace
and
righteousness. In the modern Chaotic world and temporary world where there is no reliable system to trust
in,
we
find
full
assurance of peace and joy in
the
kingdom
of
God.
whatever may the wretched person
you
may
be
no
matter God assures you His wonderful kingdom- peace if you are able to trust in Him.
3 16
kingdom Perspectives I wwwkpm.org.uk
We need to yield to the spirit of God since the Holy spirit has many fruits such as love, peace, joy etc. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5.22 &23). You may find no meaning in this world. You might have ended up in many wrong doings or many whom you helped might have left you all alone. No worries. Kingdom of God offers its real peace into your inner beings which in turn bring back all you lost in the past. Our God -Lord Jesus Christ will make all things possible for you. He will meet all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. All the disciples of Christ had this supernatural experience of joy “And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit”(Acts 13.52). God desires that we may be happy in the Lord and be in His fullness. Rejoice in the Lord always;
again
I
will
say,
Rejoice
(Philippians
4.4).
Particularly, Jesus taught many things to His disciples with respect for them to be joyful in the Lord “But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves” (John 17.13).

JOY -CHARA Both in the Old and New Testaments joy
is
consistently
individually
of
corporately
of
the
the the
mark
both
believer
and
Church.
It
is
a
quality, and not simply an emotion, grounded indeed
upon
God
derived
from
Himself Him,
and which
characterizes the Christian's life on earth (1 Pet. 1. 8), and also anticipates eschatologically the joy of being with Christ
forever
in
the
kingdom
of
heaven. The Hebrew term for Joy is Simcha found four hundred times in the Old Testament and the Greek term Chara found five thousand and four hundred and seventy nine times in the New Testament. Old Testament Joy is related to the total national and religious
life
particularly noisy,
of
Israel,
expressed
tumultuous
in
and
is
terms
of
excitement
at
festivals, sacrifices, and enthronement (Deut. 12: 6) Spontaneous joy is a prevailing feature of the Psalms, where it is a mark both of corporate worship and
of
personal
adoration.
Isaiah
conceives of joy in other than simply ritual terms and he associates it with the fullness of God's salvation, and therefore with the anticipation of a future state.
3 20
kingdom Perspectives I wwwkpm.org.uk
New Testament The Synoptic Gospels record the note of joy in connection with the proclamation, in its varied forms, of the good news of the kingdom: for example, at the Saviour's birth and at the triumphal entry. In Acts joy marks the life of the early Church. It accompanies the gift of the Holy Spirit to the disciples and the miracles performed in the name of Christ. Paul uses the term chara in three ways. Progress
in
the
faith
on
the
part
of
the
members of the body of Christ, and particularly those he has led to Christ, is a cause for joy—he describes them, indeed, as hé chara hémén, ‘our joy’ (1 Thes. 2. 19). Christian joy may paradoxically be the outcome of suffering and even sorrow for Christ’s sake (Col. 1. 24), since it is produced by the Lord and not by ourselves. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit (Gal5: 22), and is therefore something dynamic and not static. Moreover, it derives from love, both God’s love and ours, and is therefore closely associated with it in the Pauline list of the fruit of the Spirit. But since it is a gift which may be interrupted by sin, every believer is called upon to share in the joy of Christ by a daily walk with Him and a daily practice of rejoicing in the knowledge of Him.

PRAYERS FROM PSALMS

Psalm- 2 1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break their chain and throw off their shackles.”
In
this psalms we can see many nations conspiring and plotting against God and his Anointed One. God is the Ruler of the Universe and he has appointed his son Jesus the Messiah to Inherit the whole creation. Every Kingdom on Earth belongs to Jesus but he has assigned different kings and governors as his proxy to maintain Justice and Peace on earth. But these people have become drunk with power and have forgotten the one who appointed them. Instead of providing peace and justice, they turn into tyrants and oppressors. Instead of serving people they make people serve them and abuse their power. Due to their lust for power and money, they forsake all good deeds. Accordingly, they take bribes to overturn justice. They have long forgotten the God who appointed them. Instead of being subject to God-the Great Emperor they have rebelled against His reign and broken off their covenants. Let us pray this prayer with me. Dear Lord, Help us to be good governors and kings over the dominions you have subjected to our care. Let our minds not be corrupted by power and our hearts by pride. Lord help us to humble ourselves and be subject to you and to serve you. We pray for the people you have placed in our care. We pray that we would be good judges to them and we will shine forth your righteousness as a lamp set in a high place. In Jesus name. Amen.

4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. 5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, 6 “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” 7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. 9 You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.
24
kingdom Perspectives I wwwkpm.org.uk
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. 12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

SEVEN SECRETS OF A DEDICATED LIFE
1. DEDICATE TO THE LORD BY A VOW The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If anyone makes a special vow to dedicate a person to the Lord by giving the equivalent value…” (Leviticus 27:1,2) 2. DEDICATE TO THE LORD YOUR HOUSE “‘If anyone dedicates their house as something holy to the Lord, the priest will judge its quality as good or bad. Whatever value the priest then sets, so it will remain. If the one who dedicates their house wishes to redeem it, they must add a fifth to its value, and the house will again become theirs…” (Leviticus 27:14,15) 3. DEDICATE TO THE LORD YOUR LAND “‘If anyone dedicates to the Lord part of their family land, its value is to be set according to the amount of seed required for it—fifty shekels of silver to a homer[i] of barley seed…” (Leviticus 27:16)
28
kingdom Perspectives I wwwkpm.org.uk
4. DEDICATE TO THE LORD YOUR FIELD “If they dedicate a field during the Year of Jubilee, the value that has been set remains. When the field is released in the Jubilee, it will become holy, like a field devoted to the Lord; it will become priestly property...” (Leviticus 27:17,21) 5. FIRST BORN BELONGS TO THE LORD “No one, however, may dedicate the firstborn of an animal, since the firstborn already belongs to the Lord; whether an ox or a sheep, it is the Lord’s…” (Leviticus 27:26) 6. DEVOTED THINGS ARE HOLY TO THE LORD “‘But nothing that a person owns and devotes[k] to the Lord—whether a human being or an animal or family land—may be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the Lord…” (Leviticus 27:28) 7. TITHE IS DEDICATED TO THE LORD: “‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. (Leviticus 27:30)
