With Easter approaching very quickly this year we have decided to put together a mini Easter issue to help you find all the special Easter treasures that can be so hard to find. Easter is the only time of year the sweetest breads are made, the streets are blocked off to accommodate the thousands of Christians celebrating the resurrection of Christ. The Churches are full of people young and old, the candles are burning through to the early morning and a sense of strong community faith bloom with all the Easter celebrations. We fast, we feast and we celebrate the most important time of year together! So being the magazine that we are we decided that a mini Easter issue was only natural and we would fill it with all the things your searching for at this time of year. We have recipes, Easter tables, decorations and showcase the most beautifully decorated candles Australia wide! So like every issue we have had so far, sit back and take some time out to enjoy all things Easter. Happy Easter & Happy Planning

These wonderful DIY eggs has been submitted by the fabulous Bernadette Georgiou, Event Stylist and Designer, from Sparklebox, www.facebook.com/sparklebox You will need... Regular hard boiled eggs Children’s coloured paint Hot Glue Gun Bits and bobs you have lying around that would make nice decorative touches on the eggs. If you don’t mid getting a little messy then you will enjoy decorating your eggs. Once the eggs are hard boiled, let them cool down completely before starting the decorating process. Once they are cool, paint your eggs in the desired colours and leave to dry. TIP: Its best to let the eggs dry on a sheet of baking paper so they wont stick, Once the paint is dry simply apply your decorative items with the hot glue gun. You may need to help your children with this by placing the glue on the items and letting them place them on the eggs as they wish.
You will need... White hard boiled eggs Black markers This is a great way to get the kids involved without the messy paint, glue and food colouring. Tip: The whiter the egg the nicer it will look when you decorate it with the black marker. Once the eggs are hard boiled, let them cool down completely before starting the decorating process. Once they are cool, simply use the marker directly on the egg to achieve your desired pattern or artwork. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it can be as simple as polka dots!

Leave butter out for 2 hours to room temperature separate you yolks and whites shift you flour and have ready Pre heat oven to 200C and then turn down when ready to bake to 170C (Fan Oven) Beat butter and sugar till it becomes white add egg whites first and then add your yolks add oil, fresh cream and vanilla and beat well Once mixture is ready remove from mixmaster With clean hands start adding your shifted flour into mixture Once the mixture starts to not stick to your hands it means it is ready Take small portions of the dough and roll with your hands till about 12cm long and about 1cm thick then make into the shape of a plait. Bake until golden Let them cool down then store in a tight sealed container.

To be honest and I think you will all agree, there are so many different types of cakes out there that it is sometimes hard to choose. With everything from Ribbons to ruffles, bows to bouquets, crosses to cars and filigree to flowers it can be overwhelming. Here are our tips to making the choice a little more simple. Stick to a theme. You will find the choice so much more simple. Even theme of an Era, or style will help guide you. And start with the invitation. Once you have picked a theme everything can be made to match.

Share your invitation design with your cake artist. They will honestly appreciate a place to start. They can then interpret and style the design to a place you sometimes wouldn’t imagine. Working together to create something beautiful and delicious is a great achievement for everyone.

Before you brief your cake artist know roughly how many people you need to feed and what sizes pieces of cake you want to serve. Think about flavours, do you want traditional or something maybe with a little zing... mmm lemon and poppyseed...

Organise delivery of your cake directly to your reception location. The last thing you want to be worrying about is getting the cake to the venue. Even if its $50 delivery, that’s $50 to have one thing less to have to organise.
