Trust our family to take care of you
Welcome to St Louis Care
Our door is always open.
We invite you to book a private tour of our home.
St Louis feels like home.
Founded in 1946 by nurse Dorothy Mary Naish, St Louis Care began with the establishment of St Louis Nursing Home in Parkside. Today, her legacy proudly continues through her grandson, Maris Naish, our current CEO.
St Louis Nursing Home is warm and welcoming, often described as a “small nursing home with a big family of care.”
With three generations of dedicated experience, we remain committed to redefining excellence in individualised, person-centred care to empower people to live life fully by providing support and care tailored to your unique needs and lifestyle choices.
Our core values— inclusion, choice, dignity, and respect — are at the heart of everything we do.
We invite you to book a private, personalised tour and look forward to welcoming you into the St Louis Care family.
Jane, Ken, Ali and the Naish family.

Fees
Basic Daily Fee:
This fee covers basic expenses as set by the Department of Health. It is an amount that everyone pays for the day-to-day services they receive in residential care, including meals, utilities, cleaning, and laundry. This fee is reviewed and updated quarterly.
Means Tested Fee:
This fee is set by Centrelink based on an assessment of a resident’s income and assets. Residents are not required to submit their income or assets for assessment, but non-disclosure to Centrelink results in payment of the maximum means tested fee. This fee is subject to both annual and lifetime caps. Please refer to the My Aged Care website for the means tested fee calculator.
Accommodation Payment:
This is for your accommodation and can be paid as either a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD), a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP), or a combination of both.
The RAD is a lump sum payment for a room in residential care, similar to a bond, and is refundable upon exit. The published
price is for residents who are not eligible for Australian Government assistance. To be eligible for government assistance, you must meet the income and assets criteria.
The DAP is determined by the interest rates published by the Department of Health at the time of entry into permanent care. It is a daily payment that contributes to the cost of accommodation and is paid periodically (fortnightly or monthly). The DAP is not refundable. It is calculated based on the RAD, multiplied by the maximum permissible interest rate and divided by 365 days. This interest rate is set by the government and reviewed regularly.
Extra Service Fee:
St Louis Nursing Home has been granted Extra Service status, meaning we provide quality hotel-style services. The fee is set at $51.82 per day (effective 1st July 2023).

The next steps
We understand that transitioning into Residential Care can seem complex and confronting. At St Louis Nursing Home, we will work with you and guide you through the process every step of the way.
To move into residential care, you’ll need an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) approval, which can be arranged via My Aged Care. Once approved, you will receive a referral code.
We invite you to book a private tour of St Louis Nursing Home to discuss our care, support, and room availability to meet your needs and choices. We will guide you every step of the way through the application process, working closely with you and your family to support a smooth transition into your new home.
Our Registered Nurses will develop a personalised plan of support with you, tailored to your unique needs. Your care at St Louis is underpinned by our core values of dignity, respect, inclusion, and choice.
