National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event held across the United States. In Texas, it’s celebrated on the first Tuesday of October to capitalize on the cooler weather. NNO is designed to get families outside, having fun together as a community while building the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.

According to the NNO webpage, natw.org., the best way to build a safer community is to know your neighbors and your surroundings. National Night Out triumphs over a culture that isolate from each other and allows them to rediscover their own communities.

Fort Bliss Family Homes has teamed up with MWR to celebrate this great community event Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Freedom Crossing promenade. There will be a DJ, inflatables, food for purchase, McGruff the Crime Dog and more.

Come out, learn a little and enjoy a fun evening!
