Holidays are here again, and everyone is ready for the cool temperatures. I keep hearing that Pumpkin Spice Lattes are the start of the season. I’m not exactly sure why, but when I hear pumpkin I think of Jack-O-Lanterns or pumpkin pies, yum!

The holidays are a time of fun, giving, magic and lots of scrumptious food! I can chow down on turkey, ham and whip cream! I lick the bowl clean when they serve me some of that white fluffy goodness. However, there are some foods, I’m not allowed to eat or that my family should watch out for.

I can be a little sneaky when it comes to getting that delicious holiday food. I got caught once with my body half way through the garbage bag, when they pulled me out, I had a piece of ham hanging over my snout. I can’t help myself, but when I smell the yummy food, I go for it!

But we all have to be safe, right?

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind this holiday season when it comes to having holiday gatherings with loved ones.

First of all, keep the garbage bag closed! Or better yet keep it away from us because we will find a way to get to the food.

When you are baking treats for us, remember chocolate is a big no no and also anything with a certain type of sweetener, it has a name I can’t pronounce … xylitol. That’s not good for our sensitive tummy.

Leftover foods can be tricky to share with us. If they are spicy, have garlic or any seasoning maybe keep it for yourself, you never know what we are allergic to or what may make us sick.

There’s a lot to be celebrating for this coming season. Remember to be safe with each other, have fun with your loved ones and be merry!

Paws and Kisses,
