Story of Rocco the Fish Rocco has an interesting story. He began as a suggested logo design for a foundation being established in the name of a young boy who lost his battle with cancer. His parents specifically requested that it be a fish with sunglasses and a mustache. My design was not chosen for the foundation logo, but I think Rocco has spirit and determination, so I wanted him to live on. In the beginning, it was just a cartoon fish with no name, but after some research, I found Rocco is an Italian name of Germanic origin derived from "hrok" meaning "rest". The name was borne by a famous early 14th century French saint, Saint Roch, or Rocco has he came to be known. Rocco is not just any ole' fish. Even though he is nearsighted, loves a mustache, and enjoys wearing tshirts, he's very easy going and likes most people. Rocco looks great on other apparel and accessories, other than t-shirts.
