When I co-founded the company over six years ago, my mission was simple: to make sending and receiving flowers the joy that it should be.

The mini bouquets In any bouquet, some stems last longer than others. And that’s when it’s the posy vase or jam jar’s time to shine. Throw away any wilting stems and give the ones that are still going strong a good trim so they’re about 12-15cm long before popping in these dainty vases and scattering down a dinner table, windowsill or bookshelf.

We start by creating trend boards “Ahead of every season the design team moodboard up different trends, colours and textures. We’ll seek inspiration from everywhere; like art galleries, fashion shows, interior magazines, Pantone’s colour reports and much more.”

Then, to the flower markets! “Here I’ll look for any seasonal varieties that fit the moodboards’ look and feel. We have markets in London, but I also love hopping over to Holland to discover exciting new flower varieties and Ireland to explore the most gorgeous foliage farms for inspiration.”

Time for some flower arranging “Once I’ve ordered the stems I’m excited about, I’ll surround myself with them in our studio. I like to have everything in front of me when I work. I’ll hand-craft a collection of bouquets to suit a range of price points, making sure each one is delightful and exciting.”

Meet the team
Over to our quality testing team “We pick our flowers while they’re still in bud so they last a week or more in your home. This also allows us to send them through the letterbox safely and securely. I quality test every bouquet lots of times, replicating how they’ll travel to you (holding for two days more than a usual delivery will take) and recording how long they last. If any flower or piece of foliage doesn't pass our time test, we’ll swap it for something that does."

Then we’ll transit test them all “Making sure your flowers arrive safely is so important to us. That’s why we carefully pack them by hand, wrapping any delicate stems in petal protectors. And why we transit test every bouquet before we launch them. We also always keep one eye on the weather to make proactive decisions if we see hot or cold weather on its way.”

And then it’s over to the finishing touches! “We love sprinkling a little joy everywhere we can. That’s why our peony boxes feature such a gorgeous limited-edition print (see p18) and why we pop fun flower-arranging guides in with every box of flowers.”

Always trim your stems at an angle
Create 4 tiers with your stems
“When your flowers arrive, their ends will be dry. This means they won’t be able to drink. To help yours stay perky, just trim 3-5cm off at an angle. This gives them as much surface area as possible for their water to be absorbed!”
“For a full look, cut your stems into 4 tiers. Use the ones you’ve just cut 3-5cm off for the back of your display. Then use your vase’s size to guide the smallest stems; your flower heads should sit on its rim. Pop these at the front and create 2 in-between sizes for the middle.”
