History:

Acquired in 1971, Indian Lakes Park is aptly named as it is near Indian Lakes Resort.

Lakeview Park Address:

240 Broker Road Bloomingdale, IL 60108

History:

Lakeview Park underwent a $590,000 remodeling project in 2009-10 that consisted of a new fishing pier, climbing wall, shelter/gazebo and playground structure, and more user-friendly ballfields. Additionally, several areas of the park were restored to their original native existence. An Open Space Land Acquisition grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources funded half of the project.

History:

Leslie Park was acquired in 1987 when Giainni Development Co. donated the land. In 1993 a lease agreement with the Village of Bloomingdale was approved, adding an additional six acres.

History:

In 2008, the Park District entered into an agreement with the Village of Bloomingdale to lease Old Town Park for a period of 50 years. The area is home to the highly-popular summer concert series each summer.

Seasons 4 Park Address:

History:

Seasons 4 Park was acquired in 1975 and is the only park not located in Bloomingdale. It is in Roselle.

History:

Springfield Park was dedicated in 1988 and is the largest park in the District at 44.0 acres. Erickson School resides on the west side of the park with residential areas on the east and south sides.

Stratford Park was purchased in 1986 through an installment agreement and opened in 1989.

Sunnyside Park Address:

291 Glen Ellyn Road Bloomingdale, IL 60108

History:

Sunnyside Park was acquired in 1971, the same time as Indian Lakes Park. The park underwent a renovation in the summer of 2013 that included the implementation of fully-accessible playground structures for all abilities ages 2-12, and resurfacing of the basketball and tennis courts. Sunnyside is the southernmost park in the District.

Tompkins Park Address:

History:

Tompkins Park is named after Harold Tompkins, former Superintendent of School District #13. It was originally leased from the school district from 1973-1991 when the Village of Bloomingdale purchased it and deeded it to the Park District.

Westlake Park Address:

307 Edgewater Drive Bloomingdale, IL 60108

History:

Westlake Park was acquired in 1973 and features the Park District’s only sled hill. The 13-acre lake is enjoyed by fisherman and boaters, and at 25 acres, it is the Park District’s second-largest park.

Rentals

Planning an event? We have your solution! Call (630) 529-3650 or visit www.bloomingdaleparks.org for rental information and to book any of the facilities listed below. All facility rentals require proper paperwork and applicable fees. Detailed rental binders are available for viewing at the Johnston Recreation Center Front Office. Rental forms may be downloaded at www. bloomingdaleparks.org.

Johnston Recreation Center

The JRC has many rooms available for rent that fit your needs! Our threebasketball court gymnasium with attached kitchen can accommodate a group of up to 250, and we have several classroom/meeting rooms that can accommodate groups of up to 50. Our large kitchen with two ovens and a refrigerator is available with any room rental for an additional fee.

Old Town Pavilion

The Old Town Pavilion is located in Old Town Park. The quaintness of Old Town Park with its formal fountains makes the pavilion an ideal facility for weddings and large group outings.

Springfield Park

This 40’ hexagon pavilion is located behind the basketball courts near the wetlands at Springfield Park. Picnic tables are permanently available with the shelter.

Homola Picnic Shelter

This new pavilion is located adjacent to the roller hockey rink and basketball courts in Circle Park. The building consists of a large picnic shelter/patio area, concessions, storage, and men’s and women’s restrooms.

Baseball Fields

The Park District has nine fields available for rental. Springfield Park offers four fields, Lakeview Park two fields, Stratford Park two fields and Season 4 Park one field. A $100 deposit is required for rental. Rates are $35/hour for residents and $45/hour for nonresidents. Lights are an additional $28/hour.

Westfield Gymnasium

The Park District has nine fields available for rental. Springfield Park offers four fields, Lakeview Park two fields, Stratford Park two fields and Season 4 Park one field. A $100 deposit is required for rental. Rates are $35/hour for residents and $45/hour for nonresidents. Lights are an additional $28/hour.

Springfield Park offers nine soccer fields for rental. A $500 deposit is required for rental. Rates are $35/hour for residents and $45/hour for non-residents. Lights are an additional $28/hour.
