DINING SERVER AT SEASIDE POINTE Roxane started with Brandywine in the height of the global pandemic and jumped right in. As a mother of three children and with nine grandchildren, Roxanne knows the importance of family. She went out of her way to spend time with residents talking about her love of old Westerns and the Dallas Cowboys, connecting, and sharing stories with residents who were feeling alone or isolated. With her “big heart, jovial manner, and no-nonsense approach to work,” as described by Donna Winegar, the Executive Director of Seaside, Roxane kept the spirits of the residents and team members high during a very challenging time. Congratulations, Roxane!

CARE MANAGER AT ALEXANDRIA Shawn has brought so much love, compassion and knowledge to the residents at Alexandria, particularly those living with memory care needs. She has a special touch for calming someone who is feeling upset or lost. Residents “feel” her compassion and know that everything is going to be alright. She is known to always be there when you need her and takes pride in everything she does. Ray Dennison, Executive Director, said, “ “The Vibrancy that Shawn brings to our residents and team is amazine. Even though you can’t see her smile, you know there is one behind her mask. You see it in her eyes. We are so lucky to have Shawn on our team at Alexandria.” Congratulations, Shawn!

THE COURTEOUSNESS OF YOU AND YOUR STAFF MADE MOM’ S FIRST DAY AS SIMPLE AND EASY AS IT CAN BE FOR SUCH A LIFE CHANGE.
Hi Marilyn,

at The Gab
I just wanted to drop a quick note to thank you and your staff for making my mom’s first day at Brandywine so easy. We’ve been working with Maria for several months now and she’s absolutely wonderful. The help we received from Mike and Ken with moving Flo’s furniture and the time Lisa took with us to go over the nuances of the monthly calendar and answer all of my questions was all greatly appreciated. Several of the staff also popped in to say hello and introduce themselves. The courteousness of you and your staff made mom’s first day as simple and easy as it can be for such a life change.
Thank you again! Patty PS – The Coney Island pizza with extra mozzarella was fabulous!

Families!
Hi Holly, I wanted to reach out to send a special thanks to you and your amazing wonderful staff, in particular Rebecca and Phylicia who assisted my family with moving Aunt Rose L. to your lovely Sycamore community. Aunt Rose doesn’t have children of her own, but ‘Team Aunt Rose,’ which includes myself and my cousins Dawn and George, love her like a second mother, and were very invested in finding just the right situation for her to live out her remaining years in comfort, care and dignity. We researched several different communities but from the minute we stepped into the beautiful Sycamore and met with Rebecca and Phylicia we knew we had to look no further. We were so impressed with their commitment to the community and the overall sincerity in their questions regarding how to best make our Aunt comfortable. Rebecca and Phylicia guided us through the process, answered our (many) questions quickly, and showed a tremendous amount of patience and kindness in response to our concerns both before, during and after the move. We also want to compliment Nicole on now stepping in after the move to continue to make certain Aunt Rose is well cared for. And, final thanks to you for managing the financial aspect that enabled Aunt Rose to come to the Sycamore. Aunt Rose has settled in beautifully, is very happy with her suite, loves the food and the overall kindness of everyone on staff, which she tells us constantly! She has already made friends, and we appreciate the consideration that’s taken to integrate new residents into the environment, within less than a month she is completely at home! I’m going to write a review on google (I might leverage some of this email), as I want other families to understand that choosing the Sycamore is without a doubt the right decision for their loved ones!
Warm Regards, Tina S., Dawn I. & George A.

GIVING Back! For the tenth year in a row, Brandywine Living put on purple shirts in support of a cure for Alzheimer’s.
JUNE 21, 2021
The Longest Day, honored on the summer solstice, is the Alzheimer’s Association largest fundraising day of the year. Participants from around the world spread awareness and raise funds for a cure. Many communities and our team members participated and engaged in various fundraising events. Did you know? In the past nine years, Dresher Estates has raised over $10,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association by hosting a fundraising walk at Mondauk Park from sunrise to sunset. “The Longest Day is one of my favorite events, it’s really a grassroots effort to bring awareness and raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association on a community level. It gets our residents, staff, family members and our community involved and draws much-needed attention to Alzheimer’s disease statistics and support available.” Rachel Kaufman, Escapades Producer, Dresher Estates
