Blue Apple makes a huge difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities. The Hampshire-based charity believes people with learning disabilities should be treated equally and fairly both in the arts and beyond. Its mission is to challenge prejudices through high-quality and inclusive artistic practices, enabling learning disabled people to achieve excellence in all levels of their life. Blue Apple performers are coached by professionals to continually develop their skills in innovative drama, dance, singing and film projects. Evidence-based research reveals that, through Blue Apple classes and productions, Blue Apple’s talented performers gain confidence, increase their fitness levels, develop friendships – all of which will benefit their mental health and wellbeing. Blue Apple is also a registered charity and relies heavily on the generous support of individuals, companies, trusts and foundations in order to continue its pioneering work.
