INSPIRATIONAL LEARNING Every Abbeywood student is a member of a tutor group and has daily contact with their tutor every morning. Tutors act as coaches, mentors and student advocates and they provide a direct point of contact between the school and parents/carers. Every member of our school community is also a member of one of our 4 Houses (Athena, Apollo, Hera & Zeus) to further strengthen a sense of belonging to the Abbeywood community.

TOLERANT SUPPORTIVE KIND
POST 16 Our Sixth Form is a vibrant and supportive community where students enjoy excellent teaching, outstanding pastoral care, a broad range of opportunities and extra-curricular activities, and effective advice about further education and future careers. Many of our students secure places at top universities and go onto successful professional careers. Most of our students progress to our Post 16 centre directly from Year 11, seeing value in the continuity of friendships and teachers as they progress to the next stage of their studies. We also welcome new students who join us from other local schools and this provides the ideal environment for learning and for friendships to ourish.
POST 16
Our Post-16 curriculum is offered in collaboration with the Olympus Post 16 Partnership which is a group of local Sixth Form centres that work together to commission courses each year based on need. This means that our students have access to a wide range of A Level and Level 3 vocational courses, and that the curriculum is tailored to meet the future aspirations of each cohort.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR We offer students a high-quality and comprehensive enrichment programme, covering a wide range of sporting, creative and academic activities. These afford our students many opportunities to develop their skills, talents and interests in an enjoyable and relaxed learning environment. Most enrichment activities take place during our Period 6 lessons (2:35–3:35pm) each day. We also offer visits and trips to UK destinations and overseas throughout the academic year. Our Year 7 students have access to the Year 7 Camp and all our students have access to our ski trip. There are numerous opportunities for students to take on additional responsibilities which develop self-confidence, leadership and presentation skills. Additionally, we provide our students with a comprehensive programme of education in important areas such as, careers education, e-safety, citizenship, and mental and physical health.
