Miss Freida Joy Riley and the Rocket Boys Homer Hickim wrote a little piece titled "The Big Creek Missile Agency" that appeared in the Air & Space Magazine in the March 1995 fascicle: Homer Hickam's short article about his life as a young boy growing up in Coalwood, WV received so much acclaim and interest, he was asked to write a book: Rocket Boys. The memoir was published in September 1998 and the movie based on it, October Sky, premiered in February 1999. Who was Miss Riley? And Who’s Miss Riley are You?
